This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of November, 1943, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. H. P. Salter.

At the State Time of Reading Central Hospital, Set 10:30 and 11:30 A. M. on the Nashville Taken 3:45 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern War Time. & Murfreesboro Highway, about 7 mi. so. of Nashville, Tenn.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3441].

3. As we find, there are disturbances and there are tendencies towards the destruction of the reflexes to brain centers. These are produced from pressures that are associated and connected with organs of the pelvis.

4. Hence there should be those corrections made and pressures removed where those subluxations exist in the coccyx, the lumbar also in the 10th and 11th dorsal areas, so that better connections will be established.

5. These done, with the care that may be had under quite a different environment from that indicated here, we would bring nearer normal conditions for this body.

6. In making administrations for helpful conditions, then, we would put the body under the care and direction of such as the Still-Hildreth Sanitarium, Macon, Missouri. These methods, with the low electrical forces that may be used in connection with the osteopathic corrections, and the change in the environment for the care and the personal attention that will be given, will also contribute to the better physical and mental conditions of this body.

7. Sure, dementia praecox is indicated, but it is from pressures - that will respond. It will take time, but be patient, be persistent.

9. (Q) Do you refer to the Wet Cell Appliance? (A) No, we refer to the low electrical forces of the natures that those in charge here would use themselves, which are similar but of a static nature.

B1. 6/2/43 Father’s letter:

Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Edgar Cayce Arctic Circle Virginia Beach, Virginia

Dear Sir;-

For the passed month or six weeks I have been on a “Tax Equiligation Board” with Mr. H. P. Salter of this City, he told us one day of your very wonderful ability to diagnose cases while in a hypnotic (I suppose that is the correct term) state. And the wonderful cures that have been made by following your diagnosis.

I afterwards asked him for your name and address, telling him I wanted to write you and lay my daughter’s case before you.

My daughter will be 33 years of age the later part of July next. She was a normal child and in her teen age took a very active part in all her school activities, making good grades in her studies. She graduated from “Peabody College” here in Nashville in 3 1/2 years by attending both the regular and summer schools, graduating in Aug. 1932 in Home Economics.

After graduation she substituted for two years then in the fall of 1934 she got the position as head of the Economics Dept of one of our County schools. After teaching about three years she began having trouble with her vision and numbness in her right side. She gave up teaching about two months before her school was out and was under the care of several of the best specialists in Nashville, they thought at first there was a tumor forming on her brain but could find none by “X Ray.” She improved some and went back to teaching that fall and continued teaching for the next two years. Just before her school was out for the summer she became very nervous but finished the term.

After a complete rest through the summer she began teaching the next fall but gave it up after one month.

We then put her in the Vanderbilt Hospital for a complete check up both physical and mental. The Doctors again tried to see about a tumor but found no trace of one. The Doctor on nervous troubles diagnosed her case as “Dementia Precox” (Is that correctly spelled?) and urged us to put her in an Institution. We put her in the “Central State Hospital” here near Nashville for about a year.

A friend told us of a Osteopathic Hospital in Missouri [Still-Hildreth?] that she knew had made some remarkable cures. We took her up there, she stayed four months, it was so very expensive we could not keep her there longer although she seemed to improve some. We brought her home and had to put her back in the Central State Hospital. Some of the Doctors do not agree with the Dementia Praecox diagnosis but held out that there is something pressing on some of the nerves that effect the brain. I have tried to give you some idea of the history of the case, in hopes it will be of some help to you.

I don’t know exactly how to express what I want to say but in plain words - what do you think caused her trouble? The most important question is what can be done to cure her if anything?

We have spent about all we can afford but if there is any reasonable expense that would put her back in normal health we would try our best to do so.

Please write me what your charges would be to give us a diagnosis of her case. Any expense we would have to go to to help her would be a strain but we want to do all we can for her.
