This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of July, 1944, in accordance with request made by Sister, Mrs. […], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Jeanette Fitch, Stenos.]
Time of Reading Set bet. 10:30 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Mass.
-
GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time with suggestions for further corrective measures, answering the questions, as I ask them.
-
EC: Nice little stream! Yes, we have had the body here before. There are some changes. Most of these are for improvements. To be sure, the body grows tired and weary at times - tired of being “fussed over” and worried with some of the applications - but if we will follow through, and only changing some of these to be more in conformity to that which will be helpful through these warm periods, there should be continued improvements.
-
We would use the Ultra Violet once or twice a week for only a minute, and not use the Violet Ray through the hot weather.
-
We would use two ounces of Witchhazel to one ounce of Olive Oil for the massage, rather than those which have been indicated, in the present. Shake these together and these, as we find, will relieve much of the tensions through the warm weather, especially for itching on the body-forces, see? Use twice as much Witchhazel as Olive Oil.
-
The rest keep, and the diet, and the Ultra Violet twice a week for only a minute, but these will be helpful and we should continue to make for a helpful progress.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Should the shortwave diathermy be resumed? (A) Diathermy would be resumed on the 22nd of September.
-
(Q) Would it be advisable to spend more time outdoors during warm weather? (A) It would be most advisable to spend more time out-of-doors. Not too much in the middle of the day; that is, between eleven and two, but before and after this period as much as is practical.
-
(Q) Is there a more practical way than used at present to clear mucus from throat? (A) The spray with Glyco-Thymoline used in De Vilbiss spray will help to clear this. Use half Glyco-Thymoline and half water (either rain or distilled water), see?
-
(Q) Any suggestions as to diet? (A) Diet has been kept fairly good. We would increase those which carry the stronger vitamin-building content or use the processes where we may add vitamins B and iron or for this body we would find Kaldak would be most helpful. This taken either with grapefruit juice or milk, see? This should be one teaspoonful not heaping, just level, once each day.
-
(Q) Should the Myrrh be discontinued? (A) Discontinue the Myrrh as has been indicated.
-
(Q) Does the Violet Ray have to be continued during the heat of the summer, or is it advisable to do so? (A) Discontinue the Violet Ray through the summer, but do take the Ultra Violet about twice a week. Do follow the treatments with the Violet Ray with rub as has been given and we will make better strength.

We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 9/14/44 Sister’s letter:
“I was overjoyed to learn from Miss Gladys Davis of my new appointment. January 26, 1945 will be eagerly anticipated, and I shall try to better prepare myself for the recommendations.
“Regarding the Check reading given my sister, [3450], on July 3rd, all of us were truly appreciative of the encouragement and advice. The unmistakable ring of truth that sings through the readings always pours out an assuring message. Although my sister does not let us continue the potato poultice, the other suggestions form the backbone of her physical care. From the time she first heard about Mr. Cayce, her morale improved, and this healthier mental attitude, though suffering occasional relapses, has been the outstanding result of the entire experience…”
R2. 8/16/45 Sister’s letter:
“I noticed in your excellent Supplement to Bulletin, with its adorable sketches, that a physician asked for information on Parkinson’s. This was my sister’s [3450] affliction for which Edgar Cayce so kindly gave her two readings. It is now more than a year since the last one and twenty months since the first.
“Having previously received from the medical profession nothing but pity and pills, which had sadly lowered her morale and injured kidneys, eyes, etc., she had ceased to rely upon any medical man. However, I feel that if a regular M.D. would, in a case of this kind, make use of Mr. Cayce’s recommendations he would find it definitely worthwhile. My sister, who gradually grew tired of following the treatment, might have persevered if encouraged by a visiting physician. Moreover, her case was so far advanced there was complete inability to use her hands for relief of itching (temporary) caused by Tincture of Myrrh. Only dietary additions, Kaldak and Pacific Kelp have been continued.
“The greatest benefit was from the constructive tone of the readings. That was a very welcome change from the years of there’s-no-hope-for-you-poor-dear.
“Besides a rather careful diet, she now uses daily a traction apparatus to help alleviate neck tension. She is fully as well as two years ago, notwithstanding medical predictions. We are deeply and irrevocably indebted to Edgar Cayce.
“As ever in fellowship…”
