This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of December, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3497], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3497].

2. As we find, there are many conditions that are very, very good about this body; yet there is a lacking of activity of the thyroid glands in such measures as to cause this disturbance in the body wherein, apparently for no cause, there are patches on the body that are bald.

3. These come from circulation and from the lack of certain elements in the body-circulation.

4. First we would give that there be supplied those properties that would cause better activity of the glandular forces; small quantities of Atomidine to purify the glandular system. In the beginning take one drop in half a glass of water before the morning meal, each day for three to five days; leave off five days, then take again for five days. Then leave off.

5. At the beginning of the second rest period from the Atomidine, start massaging the body of evenings when ready to retire, on those areas of scalp and where the baldness appears, using Pure Hog Lard. Massage this thoroughly into the areas and bind up. The next morning bathe off, and then in the evening apply again. Do this for three to four days in succession, then leave off for a week - during which period another series of Atomidine would be taken.

6. Then have the second and third periods or series of applying the Lard to the bald areas.

7. Also begin the use of KalDak as a tonic for the general replenishing of vital energies in the body-forces.

8. Each week take, too, not hypodermically but by mouth, a stimuli for the glandular activity - the booster prepared by the medical profession for the thyroid glands.

9. Do these, keeping well balanced in diet and in activity, and we should bring better conditions for this body.

11. (Q) Is the cause hereditary? (A) As just described, it is rather a glandular disturbance and is more local than hereditary. Lack of chemical balance. The properties suggested are to correct this in the body.

12. (Q) Is the indoor type of work that I am doing detrimental to my health? (A) Not detrimental to the general health of body, though when it is practical outside activities are advisable, of course, as for everyone.

13. (Q) Would a change of climate be helpful? (A) Not necessarily so.

14. (Q) Would it be dangerous to future children to marry with this condition? (A) Not if corrected.
