This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of December, 1943, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3515], new Associate Member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Calif.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - she prayeth! We have the body here, [3515].

3. As we find, with a little preparation the body should have the affected breast removed - and a portion of the mammary gland. This should take about three to five days for the preparing of the body for the better coagulation.

4. Afterward, when there is healing, begin taking internally a mild Plantain tea, prepared in this manner: Cut fine the tender Plantain leaves, sufficient to fill a tablespoon, not heaping too high. Put this in a cup and fill with boiling water. Let stand for thirty minutes. Strain and when sufficiently cool, drink. Take this amount every other day.

5. Eat an almond each day - one almond - the body will have no more trouble or recurrence of this nature through the system.

6. The operators here can care for the condition.

7. Afterwards keep away from all meats, for at least three to six months. Meat substitutes may be used, but use a great deal of herbs, soups in which even the timothy hay is put for the cleansing of the system. Eat very young poke - the tender shoots of the pokeweed - to act as a purifier for the body. Prepare it in this manner: When cutting sufficient to make a small dish or salad, put in cold water and let come to a boil. Strain or drain off, as in a colander - or put in a colander and let all the juice drain off. Then prepare or cook the remaining leaves with other greens, especially such as lamb’s-tongue and wild mustard - about an equal quantity. This eaten once a week will purify the whole body.

8. After six weeks we will find normal conditions developing for the body.

Laetrile, Control for Cancer

Mrs. Alice Howell, Ojai, California sends us a copy of the book entitled as above, by Glenn D. Kittler, published by Paperback Library, N.Y. She relates that an acquaintance of hers, according to the doctors dying of cancer, was led to this anti-cancer drug, and through its use, the disease was brought under control as diabetes is under insulin. What struck our member correspondent was that this Laetrile is contained in ALMONDS as well as in certain other foodstuffs, such as apricots and lima beans; and among the items in the diet prescribed to accompany the drug were ground almonds.

We know well that the readings recommend “three almonds a day” as a guard against cancer.

B1. 11/4/43 [3515]‘s ltr. to EC: “When I wrote you last night about my son […] I had no idea I should need your help so soon or so urgently for myself. This afternoon the doctor told me that I had all the symptoms of cancer of the right breast and should have the operation as soon as possible.

“I should feel much happier if I could have your health reading. In addition to treatment, and if there is a possibility an operation is not needed, I’d like to know what surgeon I should go to and what hospital. But whatever comes in your reading I know will be helpful and I shall be most grateful for.

“I am enclosing my check for $20, which I understand is the correct amount.

“I shall be so grateful for a prompt answer…

“The doctor made an appointment for me to see a cancer specialist Mon. Nov. 8.”

B2. 11/26/43 [3515]‘s ltr. to EC: “Thank you for your letter of Nov. 15. I hope Dec. 28 will be in time. I expect to be in my home from 3:30 to 4:30 EWT or 10:30 to 11:30 our time and will devote the time to meditation and prayer. If I should be so much worse that I shall need to be in the hospital, I’ll have you notified the exact address.

“I shall not give up hope that you may be able to give me a reading sooner. It has occurred to me that it may be possible for you to give three readings daily. If you would leave the decision to your own inner consciousness, you could be sure of right guidance. If you get the answer that it will do you no harm, you may do it safely. If the answer should be that you ought not to do it, I would not want you to do it…
