GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes. AS we find here, there are acute conditions. Little help may be brought here unless, through operative measures, there can be the removal of the growth of a bony or grisly nature that presses upon the organs of the body and the nerve forces of the body, as to upset the activities of the liver - and will soon upset the coordination between the liver and the kidneys.
-
These have reached too great a stress, or too much of a cartilaginous or bony structure, and these are gradually destroying the activities of the body.
-
Then, we would take the body to such as Hopkins or the like, or Temple [Johns-Hopkins, Baltimore, Md., Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa.], and let these conditions be followed out and, through first determining the position and the character of the growth.
-
It is not malignant, but it should be removed. While this may cause partial paralysis for a time from the very position or place, we find that this would be the better means for obtaining help.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Where is this growth in the body? (A) Where would it be, if it presses on the kidneys?
-
We are through with this reading.

B1. 11/27/43 [3520]‘s letter:
…, N.C.
Dear Sirs:
I read the article concerning Mr. Cayce’s work in the “Coronet” magazine while I was in a hospital during the latter part of August & the first part of September.
I had given up hope of finding out what was wrong with my back, until I happened to read that article, and it has given me new hope.
My trouble started 2 years ago July. I had a cold first
- then my back started to hurt so I went to a Dr. at home, (… Hts., Ohio) he said I had an inflammation in my kidney, he treated me for awhile and then advised me to go to the hospital for observation. - I had lost 10 pds. I was at the hospital 5 days, - they X-rayed my kidneys and they said they could not find anything wrong with them, - but they did find a bone which had grown to my pelvis, from my 5th vertebrae. The Dr. said if I could gain weight it would help me.
Last March, I had the inflammation again, - I went to a local Dr. here (N.C.) - he prescribed sulfa thiazol tablets, and later a tonic. I gained weight and wasn’t bothered much with my back until June. - I went back to the same Dr. I had gone to in March, - and he advised an X-ray, which I had, & he said I had a kidney stone.
My husband & I both felt we should get the opinion of another Dr. - My husband is in the service, he inquired about medical care, as he felt they would give me a thorough examination. I was sent by them to a hospital for examination & they advised me to stay for 6 days for observation. - At the end of 6 days they wanted to take more X-rays of me, so I remained there 15 days before being discharged.
There, they took 3 X-rays of my kidneys, gave me a cystoscopic treatment, urinal tests, blood tests, fluoroscopic examination, X-rayed my teeth, and took 8 other X-rays of my stomach, etc.
The kidney specialist said the X-rays did not show any stone, or even where one would have had been, & there was nothing wrong except a slight inflammation in a kidney. The other X-rays did not show anything, the Dr. said everything was normal, - but they noticed that bone again that I have mentioned in the first part of this letter. I had again lost 10 pds (before I entered the hospital,) and when I asked the Dr. what caused it he said he couldn’t honestly tell me what it was.
I haven’t wholly recovered from this attack, my back-ache is severe, and now I am starting to get the inflammation again, pus in my kidneys.
Mr. Cayce, I honestly don’t know what to do anymore, won’t you PLEASE give me my Reading soon as possible.
Please notify me of the date you can give me my reading.
On page 11 of, “Edgar Cayce, His Life Work” it says, “case studies are available in pamphlet form for those desiring to know something of the results obtained in following Readings given within the last few years.” Will you please send me these pamphlets?
These are the questions I would like asked at the Reading:
What is causing my illness, the back-aches & inflammation (& pus)? Would it be advisable for me to have a child? (While I have this trouble.) I usually have a bad taste in my mouth which is generally worse in the mornings, it stays with me thru the day. I can say I have had it for some years. Can you tell me what is causing this? (The Dr. at home could not diagnose it.)
Please write me your suggestions.
Thank you VERY VERY much,
Very Sincerely, Mrs. [3520], …, N.C.
B2. 12/11/43 [3520]‘s letter:
Dear Sir:
In answer to your letter of Dec 1, - I will be at home, …, N.C. Dec 15th.
In addition to the other questions I asked in my other letter, I would like these questions asked at the reading:
What causes me to have dizzy spells? (Not very often) Why do I catch cold very easily? When I have attacks like I mentioned, why odes it burn me when I urinate? What can I do for relief? Or to avoid these attacks & burning. What I rally would like to know is what causes my back ache,
- this question I believe I asked in my other letter.
Thank you very much.
Yours truly, Mrs. [3520]
