This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of December, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mr. [3529], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.) Harmon Bro.]
Ward 96 N, Time of Reading U.S. Naval Hosp., 3:50 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. Great Lakes, Ill.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the conditions here; but we would not interfere with those administrations being made, for this would only cause confusions.
-
We find, however, that greater aid would come to the body with the addition of the Ultra-Violet Light, the green glass projected between the light and the body. Following this give a gentle massage to those areas where the body has been broken; that is, in structural portions injured by bruising the body-forces themselves.
-
Add these to the administrations being made and we will find greater help.
-
Then, when there are other environs, we may give other suggestions.
-
We are through with this reading.

R1. 12/27/43 [3529]‘s letter:
Ward 96N, U.S. Naval Hosp., Great Lakes, Ill.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Received the Psychic reading of myself on the twenty third of Dec. I was indeed pleased with this reading. As you know that the ward I am now in is not the ward I was in when I wrote you my first letter, the Dr. in the first ward I was in is the person who signed my application so when I received my reading of the 17th of Dec. I thought it would be a good idea to show the Dr. of my present ward the reading. He did not seem to think much of the reading and called it a fake, so I told him I was satisfied with the reading he said that he didn’t want the men throwing their money away like that and I told him that I didn’t mind the money that I was looking for help and that I wasn’t getting any at this Hosp. so he said he was going to recommend me for a Medical Discharge to a Veterans Hosp. The Doctors here has [have] admitted that they don’t know what is wrong with me and have given up treatment for me. All I am doing is staying here until I am discharged.
Mr. Cayce you can plainly see the conditions that exist when I am discharged I will have my wife and two babies to support. I would like to know just what my condition is also if it will show up on xrays pictures and where the trouble is so that when I am discharged I may take steps to get well as quickly as possible so that I may be able to take care of my family and provide for them. Mr. Cayce you said to use Ultra-Violet light but you did not say where to use it at or what part of the body to use it on. You also say to massage the body where it has broken in structural portions injured by bruising the body-forces themselves. Just what does this mean and where does this condition exist? Is there any bones broken.
In your reading Mr. Cayce you wrote about making an appointment for another reading do I have to wait until I am dismissed from the Naval Hosp to obtain the reading or is it possible to obtain this reading soon so that when I am dismissed I may know just what to do to get well. I have no intention of consulting the Navy Doctors further as they have already stated that they don’t know what is wrong with me and they have already given up all efforts to find out what is wrong with me long ago even before my first letter that I wrote to you. Please tell me just what you think of my case and what I should do. Thanking you sincerely I remain
Yours truly [3529]

Dear Mr. [3529]
Thank you for yours of the 27th of December. I do hope that you will be able to follow the suggestions as indicated. I am well aware that you may have a great many that will question it, but more than 89% of those who have had the readings if they followed suggestions, have gotten results. I don’t think there are many that have a better per cent on those where everything else has failed, than that.
Do let us hear from you from time to time.
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC/mpw
R3. GD’s note: 7/44 Mailing was returned giving his address in care of Veterans Administration in …, Wisconsin. Mail later was returned from this address saying he no longer was there.

U.S. NAVAL HOSPITAL, …, ILLINOIS
Dear Mr. Cayce
I have just read a article about your ability to help people. I have been sick for some time, with my right side and back. I would sincerely appreciate a reading on my illness.
I am in a Naval Hospital now and the Doctors are unable to diagnose my case. Xray and fluoroscope has been of no help, as they don’t show a thing. I have been told repeatedly by different people that it was all in my mind which I don’t believe. I would certainly like to get well at the earliest opportunity, so that I may be able to return to my work.
Sincerely yours [3529]
B2. 12/13/43 [3529]‘s letter:
UNITED STATES NAVY, Ward 96 N., …, Ill.
Dear Sir:
Received your letter of Dec 8. The arrangement of time is alright with me. I will be in ward 96N, U.S. Naval Hospital Great Lakes Ill. I will be at rest on my bed. The questions I wish to ask are, what is wrong that I have pains in my right side. It first started in May 1941 and has extended to my chest under my ribs and I have pains in my back on that side. My right leg and arm has shooting pains in them. I have had some pains starting from the back of my head extending to the eyes. When I lay on the back of my head it hurts. I have had a hard lick on the back of the head at one time but at that time which was in 1937 it never gave me any trouble. I had a bad lick in my right ribs in 1940 and bruised my right leg on the inside of the calf. It is pretty hard to ask any direct questions as I really don’t know the reason for my present condition. I believe it is caused from one of the reasons I have stated.
I sincerely hope that you can understand my case and review it with success. I have a feeling that there is something interfering with the nervous system causing this condition to exist. One fact I will point out is I have had very bad headaches, with no relief from them except by vomiting, then I get instant relief.
Thanking you sincerely. I feel that you will help me.
Sincerely yours, [3529]
