1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes - it’s about time you were waking up!

3. We have the body here, [3546].

4. As we find, there are disturbing conditions, these are rather of a complex nature. In some time back - some twelve to fourteen years ago, two cycles (and the body is now nearly in its third cycle) - there was an injury by swinging the body by the arms - hands, see? An impingement was produced in the 2nd and 3rd dorsal center. This gradually impoverished the circulation to the organs of the sensory system in head, and set up a general disturbance in throat and in the area above the tonsils. Thus a prolapsus of the Eustachian was produced, and the auditory nerves are being drained dry - or they are impoverished.

5. The general conditions in the body have also been affected, so that there is a lack of those chemicals needed in assimilation for the body. Then, there are insufficient quantities of hydrochloric acid and of calcium through the system.

6. In making corrections for this body, we would begin all of these applications at once; that is, make the corrections osteopathically and gradually work up to the ability for the conditions in throat and under palate to be treated. It may necessitate that the adenoids be removed, but this also may be done by the osteopathic finger surgery. But there should be the treatments osteopathically to the throat, especially to the upper dorsals, through the cervicals and through the lumbar, with coordinations made as in preparation for the osteopathic finger surgery later in throat and in the palate area.

7. All of these treatments should be done osteopathically. Make the corrections in spine as well as in throat, and the adenoids and tonsils will need attention. All of these would be done by an osteopathic specialist in finger surgery.

8. Also we would begin to add hydrochloric acid, not too heavy or too strong in the beginning, but at least twice a week take a teaspoonful of Acigest in a glass of raw milk. This is a form of hydrochloric acid that is easily assimilated. Preferably have the milk warm or fresh from the cow. Stir the teaspoonful of Acigest in a large tumbler of milk. This would be taken twice each week, say Tuesdays and Thursdays - at the evening meal. After this has been taken some two to three months, it may be increased to three times a week, and then this kept up for just a week or two and then left off; and then after two to three weeks take again beginning, though, with the dosage once a week and gradually working back to the three spoonsful each week.

9. Also begin taking Calcium in the form of Calcios. About three times each week, preferably at the noon meal, eat a whole wheat cracker thinly spread with the Calcios.

10. Do these things and we will keep better conditions for this body.

11. Of course be consistent in the general activities of the body. Don’t be too much in the open air at night. Don’t get colds by wet feet or sitting in drafts, or being in crowds that make the body susceptible to the cold germ.

12. Do keep the feet warm. It would be well to massage the feet, even to the knees, each evening in coffee - made from old coffee grounds. Boil the coffee grounds - about a cupful or more, to a gallon of water, and set the feet in this while it is warm - not too hot, and massage.

13. Do that.

15. (Q) Is there any possibility of regaining my hearing? (A) There’s always the possibility, and it is very probably if the body will be consistent with these applications, and if the body is built up as corrections are made.

R1. 1/25/44 Father’s letter: “Your reading of my daughter, Mrs. [3546] has been received, and I personally wish to thank you for your efforts in making this diagnosis. To date we have not found anyone who is capable of giving her your prescribed treatments, as … is quite a small town. If I am unable to find anyone in the near vicinity, I think I shall take her to San Francisco, which is about 160 miles from here. I have been debating with myself whether I should take her there now, or should we wait until her baby is born, which will be around the first part of March of this year. Any suggestion you might have on this question would be appreciated.

“I am enclosing a check for $20. This small donation I know will be put to further the great service you are doing for humanity.”

R2. 2/4/44 Edgar Cayce’s letter to [3546]‘s father: “Thank you for yours of the 25th. I do hope and trust that your daughter will follow the suggestions just as near as possible. There are quite a number of people in California who have been kind enough to follow the suggestions in the readings, but California is quite a large state I realize. We have a very good friend in San Francisco whom I feel sure would be glad to try to help you. He is connected with the Western Union Telegraph Co. He is Mr. Ralph Taylor, and has known the work for a number of years. He doubtless has had association with physicians of various types who might be able to help you. I would see him if possible. His address is: Room 307, 49 Geary St., San Francisco, California.

“Also there is in Los Angeles Dr. Mary Miller. I am sure she would be glad to help you find someone also. She having had a good many years experience, could create confidence for someone else. Do let me hear how your daughter gets along.

R4. 12/30/44 Gladys Davis’ letter to [3546]‘s father: “In laying the ground work for the Association to make available all the information in our files, the following steps are being taken.

“The information necessary to our publications is in the readings. First it must be indexed and extracted. All extracts must be combined into an orderly, clear and informative pamphlet by someone capable of doing so. Pamphlets should be edited by Tom Sugrue who is Publication Manager for the Association. Pamphlets are to be made available for sale.

“It is for setting such activities in motion that Active Membership fees and contributions to the Association are being used.

“We are giving you the above information in appreciation of your cooperative material and mental attitude. Thank you.”

B1. 8/31/43 Father’s letter: “Having read your most interesting biography ‘There Is A River’ by Thomas Sugrue, I am convinced that by your remarkable powers of diagnosis, you would be able to tell us what could be done in the case of my daughter who is nineteen years old.

“I will briefly state her case. In January of this year, she developed a bad case of throat and mouth infection, which finally developed into meningitis. This disease has left her in a total deafened condition. Several doctors who have examined her since, have not given us any hopes of her ever hearing again.

“I am writing this, in the hope that you can advise us, as to treatment for this young unfortunate.

“A response at your earliest convenience would be greatly appreciated.

“P.S. This young lady is soon to become a mother.”

B2. 1/2/44 [3546]‘s letter to Mr. Cayce: “I am writing you this letter in regards to the appointment I have with you, for my reading which you have dated January 13, 1944 between 10:30 and 11:30 A.M. Eastern War Time.

“I have moved from my previous address. I am now living at … Street, …, California and will be there at the above stated time.

“As to the questions, I would like to know if there is any possible chance of regaining my hearing? Also if there is any method of treatment that would be beneficial? Medical doctors have given me no hope but I have great faith in your method of diagnosis.
