GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, what a peculiar vibration about this place. Many of those things that are often called haunts would like to visit here. We have the body here.
-
As we find, there are many conditions that are very good with this body. There have been those disturbances having to do with the coordinating of the general nervous systems of the body, then there have been those activities from an injury to the 9th dorsal, which have brought about the general shocks to the nervous system. These have brought back many of the old disturbances where there was incoordination, where there were improper activities of the reflexes in organs the loss of control of self at times, lapses of memory for the moment at times and the strange feelings through the body.
-
We would first begin with good, thorough osteopathic corrections. For the first six to eight treatments these would have to do primarily with the relaxing of the whole body. In the beginning these will not tend to alleviate but will tend to quiet the body in these special periods when there are disturbances that come almost every twenty-eight days apart.
-
Then, after these have been given for a week to ten days, begin with the low electrical vibrations of the diathermy - the low, not high.
-
When these have been taken for eight to ten periods, two to three to four days apart, then begin with the osteopathic adjustments. These would be made specifically in the 3rd cervical to the 1st, 3rd and 4th dorsal, and at the 9th dorsal more specifically.
-
And we will bring better conditions for this body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Did tropical climate have an effect on my present condition? (A) Not so much tropical climate as indicated, but an injury which made the body more susceptible to changes of the tropical climate.
-
(Q) Did the fall I had in training period have an effect on my present condition? (A) It did.
-
(Q) What exactly was that previous disturbance for so many years? (A) As indicated, the incoordination between impulses in the sympathetic nervous system and the cerebrospinal system, with a lesion in the lacteal duct and in the 1st and 2nd cervical areas.
Do as indicated, and we should bring much better conditions for this body.
- We are through with this reading.

Mr. Edgar Cayce
Dear Sir:
A few days ago I read of your work in a magazine. Perhaps you can help me. I have been in the U.S. Navy for fourteen months, six months of this time being spent in Navy hospitals, but to no avail. The doctors seem to disagree as to just what is wrong, with the result that nothing is being done.
I have a wife and eight children who are depending on me for support and will continue to do so after I am discharged from the Navy. This I will be unable to do unless I can do something to improve my physical condition. I would like to stay in the Navy and continue my work until the end of the war.
If you can help me please advise me and I will send you the necessary fees.
Respectfully yours, [3557]

Mr. Edgar Cayce
Dear Sir:
Since receiving your last letter I have been transferred to …, La. Also, as you may notice my rate has been changed from SF1/c to SP(M)1/c and you may change your records accordingly.
On January 9th, at 4:PM, E.W.T. as the time set by you for the reading I will be in … at my residence … St., unless some unforeseen event prevents. In which case I shall notify you.
I am mainly interested in learning just what is causing my condition and if possible the remedy for it. I would also like to know if the present condition is a continuation of a condition that I had before I came into the Navy and if my being in here has aggravated it, or is my present condition due to a fall I had during my training period or was caused by tropical climatic conditions. I would also like to know what was the cause of the condition I had for so many years prior to coming into the Navy.
I trust that I may hear favorably from you soon after the 9th of the month.
Respectfully [3557] S.P.(M)1/c
