This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the father - Mr. [3581], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet.

Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Illinois.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3562].

3. As we find, there are disturbances preventing normal developments for this body. We find that these are the effects of too great a quantity of the lymph circulation being carried through the activities of the nerves and impulses in the medulla oblongata. Thus there are fluids about and in most of the brain cavity.

4. This is tending towards increasing the bone structures in this particular body in and through the area.

5. This condition may be materially aided if there is the closing of those openings through which there are tendencies for the impulse to seep in at the end of the spine, through the coccyx and the first of the lumbars, or in the fourth lumbar area.

6. We would have treatments in a neuropathic manner, not osteopathic, not chiropractic, but neuropathic adjustments - so that there may be healing in the areas.

7. The treatments neuropathically should be made especially in the coccyx area and in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cervical areas. And these would be as much upon the activity of the sympathetic connections at the 3rd, 2nd and 1st cervical, as they would be upon the segments themselves. These do not need to be moved, but there needs to be the coordinating of those patches of the emunctory flow between the lymphatic, or sympathetic lymphatic and cerebrospinal system. The adjustments or massages in the last lumbar and in the coccyx segments should be also upon the brush end of the cerebrospinal nerves themselves.

8. To interpret this perfectly, x-ray the end of the spine - not the head, but where the source is - the last lumbar and the coccyx center.

9. Also, by a physician, there should be an injection made of one, one-eightieth of a grain of atropine, hypodermically; not in the bone but at the end of the lumbar, where the first of the coccyx segments join with same.

10. Do these - we may bring better conditions for this body.

12. (Q) What caused her present condition originally? (A) Lack of closing of those ends when, in and through the period of gestation, that termed a tail drops off of the body.

B1. 9/8/43 [3562]‘s father’s letter:

”…In February of 1939, Mrs. […], a young woman of 28, passed away of pneumonia and several other complications, after having given birth five days previously to a daughter, [3562], whose present age is four years and seven months, and who a few months after birth, doctors discovered that she had what is commonly known as a waterhead [hydrocephalus] although the affliction itself as I understand, is uncommon. The child was a premature baby, having been born in her seventh month.”

“I, her father, have had her to many doctors and always as you might know, with the same result ‘nothing can be done’.

“She is very intelligent, understands everything, knows people by name and can carry on a fairly nice conversation. She cannot walk, due to the weight of her head, and must be careful how she holds it. The child, [3562], is now in a Catholic Home.

“Can something be done, Mr. Cayce? I shall do whatever you suggest, even if it is necessary for me to come to see you. As you might know, it would be very difficult to bring the child along, but perhaps this is not even necessary.

“Please, I beg of you, to give this sad case your immediate attention and advise me what procedure to follow, as I shall immediately. Whatever necessary money there is involved, please advise me of same…”

B2. 1/17/44 [3562]‘s father [3581] was present for the reading, saying the doctors call [3562]‘s condition hydrocephalus; they have drained water from her head and spine.
