This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3564], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., via her brother, Mr. [3062].

Born April 25, 1898, in Westphalia, Indiana. Time of Reading 4:55 to 5:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Ohio.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now called [3564].

3. In interpreting these we would magnify the virtues. For there are not too many faults to magnify or to disregard. While the entity is not perfect by any means, we find that the innate purpose or desire is toward good.

4. Too long has the entity been, as it were, under a cloud; rather timid, rather lacking in self-expression. It needs to get out in the wilds and yell, and hear its own echo back again. Not to be subdued by others who try, or have tried to impress the entity with their importance. For God is not a respector of persons. And anyone can act the fool by appearing to be important. For the greatest among those of the earth are those who serve the most. But it doesn’t mean keeping so quiet, being so uncommunicative. For others may give the entity the impression that they want to tell you and show you how, yet the entity all the time really knows much more than most of those who would tell the entity what to do.

5. Thus there should be activities of the entity in those places where it could be out of doors, a great deal and in the environs where people come to the entity with questions. For the entity can soon learn to speak ever in such a way to be a helpful influence to the individual spoken to, even in giving the direction to a train. For it is the spirit with which a thing is done, it is the spirit with which ye entertain an activity, that gives it force and power, and that brings harmony in the experience of self as well as those to whom such is directed.

6. As to the urges latent from the activities in the earth as well as astrological sojourns, we find Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars.

7. Thus the lack of flash or show. Yet if the entity would dress up in a red dress, it could cut a nice caper. And this is not meant as a pun either! For the vibrations of such have even been so subdued about the entity that little of the real beauty has escaped, because the love and deep emotion has been kept hid so long. Only do ye let it out when ye speak to babies and little children and they all love you. Only when you speak to a dog and the like - they all love you.

8. In Jupiter we find the great desire innate to be something that will be well spoken of, to do something in order that you would feel an uplift from that feeling ever of having been almost “stepped upon” by circumstances about you at all times. This ye may do just by knowing that in the manner ye treat others, ye are treating thy Maker. Don’t let that escape you.

9. And then practice again speaking to others as ye have spoken and do speak to babies and little folks. For remember as He gave, who is the Maker and Creator, “Unless ye become as little children, ye will in no wise enter in.” You’ve made a good start, in being able to control such environs.

10. We find in Saturn disappointments - changes. And it would be well for the entity in the present to change to those things that would have to do with enabling the entity to be outside, to meet more people, to be able to advise and counsel people - even in little things. And your health will be better also. For you will have to guard against this, as indicated in these changes in Saturn. For the circulation becomes poor by just that thought of being a non-entity in the environs in which the entity has been placed. It has belittled itself, cramped its abilities. Thus it needs to let loose, as it were.

11. As to the appearances in the earth, while all may not be given, these are indicated as to latent and manifested urges in the personality and the individuality of the entity:

12. Before this the entity was among those people who journeyed into the dark and bloody ground of Virginia and the Carolinas.

13. The entity was among those of the young who grew up among the natives, because of a raid.

14. Meeting self, yes - but, as we will see, the latent and manifested urge in the experience.

15. The name then Rachel Welch, and the entity became as one cowarded almost, as it were, from its young girlhood; living in those places close to what is now known as French Lick.

16. The entity has a peculiar feeling about those areas and those lands. These it would be well to put away, but to keep in the open as the entity would then or did then.

17. Before that the entity was in the French land during those periods of the first Crusades.

18. The entity was among those who were left in that land by the associates and companions.

19. Then in the name Druyfus the entity was oft lonesome. The entity grew to a better interpretation of soul and mind. Thus in the present the entity is the student. Historical facts, things having to do with periods that turn the activities of man, are a part of the entity’s inner consciousness, as it remembers or analyzes such in its study, or in the periods when it likes to be alone. It is well for the entity to be alone at times, for it is one entity who is good company for itself.

20. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land when there were those periods of journeying into the land and settling there.

21. The entity then was a real character, as the entity was in that position as the daughter of Caleb who was given to his brother’s son for taking what was then Hebron.

22. The entity then set an example, as did the household of Caleb, as did the household of the husband, among those people through those people following the death of Joshua. And the entity was among the first of those leaders of the groups that kept, as it were, the house in order.

23. Hence the power, the ability that is latent and manifested in the entity’s present experiences.

24. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land among the Natives who were lead into the Ibex Rebellion, in the name of Su-she-put.

25. As to the abilities of the entity in the present, that to which it may attain and how:

26. Turn self loose! It may go anywhere so long as it keeps its faith in the one God, and applies itself in just being kind, patient, showing brotherly love. For these are the things that make the entity, and will make the entity, the handmaid of the Lord our God.

28. (Q) Should I resign my position at the Nurses’ Home and accept a position with Travelers’ Aid? (A) By all means.

29. (Q) Would I be successful and would the job last? (A) By all means.

30. (Q) What is the exact time of my physical birth? (A) 9:38 - morning.

31. (Q) What was the exact relationship between me and my brother, [3062], in a past life? (A) These associations may be paralleled by a comparison of periods. You will find that there were relationships in Egypt, but not too complimentary - until there was a settling of many disputes over the Priest.

32. (Q) Can I develop spiritual healing or psychic powers? (A) Can develop healing by the laying on of hands or of magnetic vibrations. These would be well, but get the physical body better first.

Let thy light ever so shine that others with whom ye speak may take cognizance of the fact that ye have walked with Him.

“On Duty” Nurses Home

Dear Mr. Cayce: This is to acknowledge and express appreciation for the Readings of Jan. 17th. (Ms. [3062]‘s sister)

I can only humbly bow to God as I thank Him for His wondrous power - manifesting thru - you! All honor and praise to God, but to you also, Mr. Cayce as I in esteem and deep gratitude for your words, direct you to the Voice of Spirit saying TO you: “This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” And, did He - (Jesus) not say “Ye are gods, and all of you, sons of the most high”? You, Mr. Cayce, are living up to the standard of your Sonship; are listening for His Voice and conveying His message to help and comfort. Thus fulfilling the ancient but ever vital admonition: “Comfort, comfort ye my people”, saith Jehovah. I am one of those who have heard His comforting words spoken thru you - His mouth piece of understanding compassion.

Truly “God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform”! Thank you so much for both Readings. My intense desire is to commune with the Father as our Master and, live ever closer to Him that I too, may hear His Voice and be used of God in whatever sphere is mine - That indeed is the Pearl of Great Price!

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I am so pleased that you paused in your exceedingly busy life to grant my dear brother [3062] a ‘check’ Reading.

May I request that, in the event something adverse, negative or disturbing is transmitted, you withhold such in the written report to my brother? Knowing my brother as I do - his suggestibility and sensitivity, I make this request, dear friend. I’m sure you will advise your stenographer of the importance of this. However, your Christed intuitive sense will know just what to report and what to omit.

God bless you, Mr. Cayce. I have been greatly benefited by your Readings and trust my beloved brother will have further improvement also.
