This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Oregon.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes. Here we find those conditions where there is the lack of control of tendons and muscular forces of the body. There is a lack of a balance being kept in the chemical forces of the body and there becomes a wasting away of the muscular forces, so that the activities are not controlled by the voluntary emotions and nerves of the body.

3. We would begin first those administrations to start the body changes, and then - as there is found the response in the controlling of the connections between the cerebrospinal and sympathetic systems in the various areas along the spine - there may be given those influences that may be more helpful for the body.

4. Begin using the low Wet Cell Appliance carrying alternately the vibrations of Gold and Camphor. Attach the Appliance for one hour each day, one day using the Gold Solution, the next day the Camphor Solution.

5. When using the Gold Solution (in the proportions of one grain Chloride of Gold Sodium to each ounce of distilled water - and use at least three ounces), attach the small plate at the 2nd dorsal center.

6. Each day the large nickel plate would be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct plexus, which - on this body - will be the width of four fingers from the navel center to the right and three fingers up from that point. This would be directly to the right, you see.

7. Take the connections out of the bottles when not in use.

Clean the plates with emery paper each time when taken from the body and each time just before applying to the body. The connections should be connected to the Appliance about twenty minutes before they are to be applied to the body.

8. Recharge the Appliance every thirty days, also change the Gold Solution as well as the Camphor Solution at the same period.

9. Each day when the Appliance is removed massage the body in the areas of the throat, the neck and head - that is, back of the head, on the spine - even to the toes; using this combination of oils:

Olive Oil…2 ounces, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Lanolin (liquified)…1 1/2 ounces.

10. Do these and we will bring better conditions. When these have been taken for at least four charges of the Appliance - or in ninety to one hundred and twenty days - we would give further instructions for this body.

11. Ready for questions.

12. (Q) What causes and what will prevent the severe pains in his chest? (A) The heavy flow of circulation caused by the wasting of circulation through the torso.

13. (Q) Has the heart suffered from rheumatic fever? (A) The heart has been altered in its pulsation but as we find as there is a renewing of energies in the body, so that the eliminations may be set up much better, these conditions should be helped materially.

14. (Q) What can be done to prevent the shrinkage of cords in feet? (A) All of these conditions are from the lack of balance in the chemical forces of the body. The massages should be given, of course, along the limbs and the feet - head to toes, over the back portion of body.

15. (Q) Is this the cause of his gradually losing the use of his legs? (A) This is because of the changes in the tendons and muscular forces as indicated.

16. Do these things and when these have been used for ninety days, we would give further instructions.

R1. 3/8/44 Mother’s letter: “Here I am again - asking for a reading for another boy of ours [16 yrs.]. The first boy has just started the treatments which you recommended so there isn’t anything to report as yet. Now I’ve been wondering if its asking too much to request a reading as soon as possible as this boy is in bad shape. And we think while treating the smaller one we might as well be treating them both even though the older one’s treatment may be much different. Of course if this would be too inconvenient for you we will also gladly wait our turn.

“Hoping to hear from you in the near future.”

R2. 6/26/44 Mother’s letter: “Having used the Appliance according to your instructions and for 116 days I decided to drop you a line. Just in case I was supposed to remind you when the time is up. The reading states you will send further instructions so we will be waiting for them.”

R3. 8/17/44 Mother’s letter: “As for [3567]‘s condition. I am sorry to report that he has not improved since taking the treatments which you prescribed in the first reading. He was given the Wet Cell Appliance treatments for 115 days as directed but during this period as before and since he is steadily growing weaker (in his legs especially).

“We followed the reading to the best of our ability and naturally are very sorry that we can not send in a better report.

“We have no questions this time but we will be awaiting your next reading report anxiously. [3567] will be at his home which is located at …, Oregon, on Sept. 2nd.

“Please send me your booklet on Physical Readings. I am sending 50 cents for same.”

R4. 11/5/44 [3567]‘s letter to GD: “I received your letter explaining the reason for the delayed readings of our sons. We were so sorry to hear that Mr. Cayce was not feeling so good but we sincerely hope that by now he is much better.

“I have checked time and again over the manner in which [3567]‘s treatments were carried through and I can’t seem to find any mistakes. So if there were any made I will be so happy if Mr. Cayce can tell me about it.

“As to the daily schedule you asked for, I will try and give it to you.

“[3567] arises at 8:30 or 9:00 A.M. Has his breakfast about 30 min. later, consisting of either fruit, toast and bacon, or cereal and toast, or 1 egg and toast with plenty butter and milk because we have our own cow.

“Lunch is usually very light. Soup with crackers, fruit and milk, or creamed fish on toast with raw vegetables.

“Then for dinner he has potatoes, meat, at least two kinds of vegetables, bread & butter. For dessert, pie, cake, jello, custard or ice cream. But he eats very small helpings of everything. I am sure not half as much as healthy boys his age would eat. He does eat raw fruit and some candy between meals most days also. He reads a great deal and rests a lot, but at the same time he is very restless for want of something to keep busy, for which I would be very thankful to find a remedy.

“By all means do follow through as you suggested in changing our appointments. We will observe this hour in prayer and meditation.

“Thank you so much.”

1. Has the condition of his heart changed any since the first reading?
2. He is very much underweight? Is there any way he could gain a few pounds?

B1. 9/27/43 Mother’s letter to EC: “Yesterday I read an article sent to me by my soldier nephew in Calif. It told about some of your miracles in helping the sick. And it seems a miracle is our only hope. So naturally we are very much interested in your work.

“We have two boys for whom Doctors can do nothing and so I hope and pray for a miracle some day.

“Of course we don’t know very much about you or your method. So if it’s not asking too much, would you please write to us and explain it more clearly? and also tell me what information you would need for a ‘reading’.

“I am sorry we live so far apart - it would be so much easier to talk to one another. But if you could possibly help us through the mail we would be eternally grateful.

“Hoping to hear from you very soon.”

B2. 1/8/44 Mother’s letter to EC: “In response to your letter of Nov. 20 I am sending you the information you need to have the reading for our son.

“He will be at his home and the address is … Rd., …, Oregon. Here is a list of questions we would like to have you answer.

1. What causes the severe pain in his chest at times and is there anything we can do to prevent it?
2. Why is he so shaky and is there a remedy for it?
3. What is the cause of him gradually losing the use of his legs? and is there a remedy for it?
4. Why are the cords in his feet shrinking, causing both big toes to gradually be pulled upwards? Is there anything we can do for this?
5. The Doctors informed us once that he had at one time had Rheumatic fever which left his heart bad. What would you advise for this?
