1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes.

3. Now as we find, conditions here may be contributed to for the better welfare. As to wholly making normal or making correction, this will depend a great deal upon the care that those who attend the body make towards coordinating the mental and physical being of the body.

4. These are karmic conditions, and as administrations are made in the body’s experience of those things of the truth or of spirit, those things that are of that portion of the body will respond - whether we find changes in the mental or physical being or not.

5. Then the care, the kindness, the gentleness, the way the administrations may be made for causing conditions about the body to become more constructive - not so much that the body have its own way, but so that the psychological conditions may be met, rather than so much the pathological condition.

6. Thus the helpful forces may be by and through the administrations of those who make application of kindness, gentleness and patience with this body.

8. (Q) No special treatment of any kind? (A) No special treatment other than that indicated in the care, in the precautions, and in the administering to the body in love, kindness, patience and the like.

The following notes were taken on cases as read and are merely the opinion of the abstractor at the time he read the case plus the correspondence. The main value of these notes is that they give some indication of what the exact diagnosis in each case may or may not be.

Case [3568]. Given in 1943. 26 year old male.

“This case was classified in group 2. There was not enough information to make a diagnosis as to the type of epilepsy or even epilepsy for sure. The readings gave the cause of the condition as karmic and the suggestions for treatment mainly kindness and gentleness in taking care of the body.”

B1. 6/12/43 Mother’s letter: “Dear Mr. Cayce: I have just finished reading the book ‘There is a River’ and was very much impressed with it. I am particularly interested because I have a son who, for the last ten years (he is now 25) has been suffering from spasmodic convulsions. Of course, we have had all sorts of medical examination and treatment, including encephlegrams, but they have not helped him. I am therefore writing to you in hopes that you may be able to do something for him. Whatever you may charge, I shall most willingly pay. I have great faith in you, after reading of your miraculous cures. The boy’s name is [3568], …, Washington, D.C. Any further information you may need, I shall be glad to furnish.”
