This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 23rd day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the husband - Mr. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Calif.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3593].

3. There are rather serious disturbances with this body. These are a complication, the sources arising from the lack of the proper balance in the chemical activity and a glandular condition, bone structural disturbance, and an irritation in the locomotory centers; limbs causing disorder and the general central nervous system, from the solar plexus area or 9th dorsal - as almost the agitans or a growing condition towards the inability to control nerves, muscles and the activities of hands and limbs.

4. These began from a disorder in the hypogastric and pneumogastric nerve centers about the assimilating system.

5. While there are disturbances that will require patience, persistence, we find that there can be help for this body.

6. In making administrations we would first begin by the application of the vibrations from the Wet Cell Appliance, medium strength; that is, to the gallon and a half of distilled water use:

Copper Sulfate…2 pounds, Sulfuric Acid, C.P…1 1/4 ounces, Zinc…6 drams, Willow Charcoal…1/2 pound.

7. We would carry into the body vibratorially through the Appliance the properties one day of Chloride of Gold Sodium in the proportions of one grain to each ounce of distilled water and the next day Atomidine in the proportions of one ounce to two ounces of distilled water. Use three ounces of each Solution.

8. The Appliance would be attached every day for thirty minutes, one day carrying the Gold Solution, the next day the Atomidine Solution.

9. The large nickel plate would always be attached to the umbilical and lacteal duct center, which on this body would be the width of three fingers from the navel center toward the right and three fingers up from that point.

10. When using the Gold Solution, the small plate would be attached to the 9th dorsal center.

11. When using the Atomidine Solution the small plate would be attached to the 4th lumbar.

12. Recharge the Appliance every thirty days and also change the Solutions every thirty days.

13. Do not leave the connections in the Solutions when not in use. Clean them when taken out, clean them before they are put on; and put them in at least twenty minutes before the Appliance is to be attached to the body.

14. Each day following the Appliance treatment, give the body a massage along the spine, over the liver and gall duct area, the caecum area, and following the course of the colon, also the lower limbs and the arms, with this combination of oils, adding these in the order named:

Usoline or Nujol, as the base…4 ounces, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Olive Oil…2 ounces, Lanolin (liquefied)…1/2 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles…1/2 ounce, Sassafras Root…1/2 ounce.

These will tend to separate. Shake them together and pour out the quantity to be used. Do not pour back into the bottle any of the surplus that may not be used. Massage what the body will absorb, over the areas indicated; including toes, feet, ankles, knees, along the sciatic nerve to the lower portion of the body; across the hips, across the abdomen and the diaphragm area, the arms, the neck, and the whole cerebrospinal system; more on the sides of the spine, or on the sympathetic nerves, than on the spinal column itself.

15. Do these until there have been at least five series; that is the changing of the Solutions five times. Then we would give further instructions for this body.

16. Do that - we will get results for this if there will be persistence and consistent in the use of these suggestions.

17. There will need to be changes for the chemical reactions in the body, for these will be absorbed and we will need other corrections.

18. Ready for questions.

19. (Q) Is the spine causing a pressure on the nervous system? (A) Rather is this from the glands, but we will release the spinal centers by the massage on either side. Don’t try to make spinal corrections here, in this particular series of treatments.

20. (Q) Are the spasms and muscular pains caused by nervous disorder? (A) As just indicated, an unequal balance in glandular distributions of assimilated conditions. These we will change by the taking of these properties indicated vibratorially.

21. (Q) Why is the right foot pulled out of line, causing so much pain? (A) This is a part of the general disturbance and unless measures are taken there will be caused a shaking or the agitans.

22. (Q) Should I continue to wear brace on right leg? For about how long? (A) When there is the attempt to move about much, yes.

23. (Q) How can I regain strength and resistance in spite of pains? (A) As just indicated, these massage and daily treatments.

Do these things and then we will give instructions at the end of those periods, after these have been used as indicated.

R1. 8/5/44 Report by self: “Started with treatment and massage Feb. 26th, a nurse living with us followed instruction and treated me according to the rdg. We renewed the cells every 30 days, had the prescribed minerals sent by Mr. Godfrey. One month later I was able to be up an hour a day, condition of bladder improved greatly. Dr. Miller is at my bedside twice weekly and I thank God I have known her through you. She is wonderful. Now in July and August I can sleep through all night. A month ago I started with very bad pains in my left foot, which increase when up and trying to walk. I tire very much and soon when up, but do some housework mostly cooking but cannot reach much for the things needed, have help to reach me everything. Right hand very weak, requires much will and mentally courage to accomplish everything in my daily life. In the morning from 8:30 to 12 noon I spend with your treatments. I improved in weight - was 92# - am now 97#. We had to move to town - very, very tiresome for me. Bought a new house on hillslope, wonderful trees, cool shade, an old fine house - I love it very much. Near my bedroom I have a sun deck where I keep flowers. Friends who haven’t seem [seen] me marvel at my looks and improvement, yet I cannot walk on my own and for pains I still need hypodermics. Dr. Miller did not want to cut those off abruptly. Mornings on awaking I am very stiff, need help to get up for washing.

“On August 21st - it is my husband’s birthday - I will be in this house in my room with the windows facing in the grounds of beautiful trees. I will pray the Lord to let you help me. I need this help so badly!”

1. Why the pains in left foot which I haven’t had previously?
2. Will my right hand be better, and the right leg? Will it ever support me?
3. Shall I continue to wear the brace on my right leg when up?
4. Is there a medicine or treatment which could help me over the bladder suffering? (It was said from my surgeon a year ago that my bladder condition won’t improve very much, almost never, but it did after we started with your treatments. Only lately I have pains again.)

R2. 8/12/44 Letter from Dr. Mary Miller: “She has had a long history of joint and muscle distortions with considerable fixation, which might easily be covered by the diagnosis arthritis. She has had some tropical infections which she acquired during her early married life in Africa. There is also a strong indication of other infections - all of which have made it necessary to employ specialists who have used drastic drugs and drastic surgery. It has resulted in a sad picture on the whole.

“The directions you prescribed have been strictly followed - with the addition of radionic rates to re-energize the legs… Both she and her husband - also the nurse - are highly pleased with the results and I venture the prophecy that, if improvement continues at the same rate for the next 6 mos., she will again be driving her own car. When the record is complete, I am sure you will find this a most interesting case for your files.”

B1. 10/20/43 Letter from husband: Taken ill last December with severe cramps and spasms in her legs and has been in bed ever since… Underwent four surgeries since March, confined to her bed in the hospital since then suffering unbearable pains.

B2. 1/13/44 Letter from self - [3593]: …Has her own nurse, fond of her, but in no doctor’s care in the present… Will take no sedatives at time of reading… Spine seems to cause most of suffering. Walking is painful. Resting in bed without motion gives relief. Pain starts in right leg… Five surgeries on the right leg to straighten it out as long as the left one. Wears a shoe and brace on right leg, enabling her to do a few steps on the walker… Spinal cord surgery on upper spine, which released both drawn-up knees and legs… Released from hospital and left on her own to regain strength.

Is the spine causing a pressure on the nervous system? Are the spasms and muscular pains caused by nervous disorder? Why is the right foot pulled out of line, causing so much pain? Should I continue to wear brace on right leg? For about how long? Why has rigidity of back and legs never left? How can I regain strength and resistance in spite of pains?
