This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of February, 1934, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [360], Associate member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [360]; this we have had before. As we find, while the conditions have been somewhat aggravated, and there have been those reactions that have caused some anxiety and uneasiness, the general conditions are very much improved from that we have had before.

2. The specific conditions in the coordinating of the nerves that will make for the resuscitation and enlivening of the system, for the proper reaction in the coordinating effect with the cerebro-spinal impulses, and to replenish same - as seen - it must become necessary that the poisons be removed, and those tissues where there has been involved reaction or the drosses from curative forces in the system. These have produced in the general those cloggings in portions of the body; as in the facial nerves and muscles; those portions in the system where these have affected or cut off, as it were, the reactions to the general system, thus causing this anxiety and this condition that becomes very specific.

3. We will find that the condition will be relieved at such times by applying mullein poultices over those areas along the throat and neck, the auditory forces, the nerves and muscular forces to the face, to those portions of the body where disorders have existed. In the present it is necessary to have the mullein only in the dried, that may be made into stupes; that is, put into very hot water and allow to expand. Drain somewhat, but put between cloths that would enable the heat and the effect of the mullein in its reaction to act upon the muscular forces and the nerve forces. This around the throat, over the tendons and muscles in the throat and head, back of the head and to the lower portion of the jaw or the axis there, over the thyroid; ALL of this, and it will aid in removing the conditions. Use these stupes only when the distressed areas need relaxing sufficient that the drainages into the lymph and emunctory circulation may be maintained. The activity of the blood supply is slow through these portions. Have about a quarter to half an inch of the mullein itself, BETWEEN the cloths; this not including the cloths, of course, but sufficient to HOLD the heat that is applied with coarse heavy towels applied externally to be sure that the heat is kept close to the body. This is in the throat, back of the head, around the ear, lower portion of jaw, those portions in the frontal portion of the jaw just on the point of the chin, see? throat, and over the thyroids.

4. We would also make a tea in this manner: To 16 ounces of distilled water add 1/2 ounce of the mullein leaves or the dried mullein, and 1/4 ounce Life Everlasting. Steep this as a tea and take sips of this three or four times a day, about an ounce during the day, preferably warm, see? While insipid in taste, if sipped when it is warm it will add that vitality in the circulation.

5. Keep up the rest of those things given. Keep up the adjustments and the massage, keeping up the electrical vibrations, and occasionally the potato over the eye to remove drosses from same.

7. (Q) Any advice to Dr. Browne regarding her treatments of me? (A) The only advice to Dr. Browne would be to keep the treatments in the manner outlined, coordinating the eliminating centers in the upper dorsal and central dorsal area, with those relaxed conditions that will occur when such applications or poultices are applied.

8. (Q) Will this treatment of the jaw allow the teeth to be separated properly? (A) This is to make the axis, of course, to work; setting up the drainages properly, see?

9. (Q) What causes the periods of greater dimness to the eyes? (A) As we have tried to explain, it is the lack of the eliminations, or the taking away from those affected portions of tissue or the INVOLVED portion, USED portions in the system. This produces the dimness. DRAINAGE not properly set up, see?

10. (Q) Are all treatments being given correctly? (A) Only the changes intimated, and those things kept up properly, coordinating between the eliminations through the alimentary canal, through the kidneys and the respiratory system, with that being performed or activated in the upper potions to keep coordination.

For, as is seen - or as may be comprehended by all, the eliminations of poisons are activated through the kidneys, the alimentary canal, the respiratory system, the breathing (in the breath), and the sweat portions of the system. When tissue, like used tissue, like ashes in a furnace or grate, or the like, accumulate - this prevents proper circulation. This removed by keeping the relaxations in the proper coordinating, one portion of the system with another, to make for better eliminations.

R1. 3/24/34 “You said you would be glad to hear from me and I am writing to ask your advice. I have had such faith. The first rdg. said I would get back 75% of my vision and now I have arrived at the point where if I can keep what I have in one eye I will be so thankful. Since last June the sight in the left eye (I could see the first line on a test chart) has gone so I can just see a flicker of light and the right is dimming so rapidly that I am getting panicky. We (my sister, Dr. Browne and myself) have absolutely, conscientiously followed every suggestion (even to being always cheerful and believing that I was getting better). Physically I am marvelously improved - blood pressure is much higher, color better, flesh firmer, appetite better, have gained weight, indigestion much less and much more resistance. Yet during the periods of most improvement my eyes have gone back most. Why? I had my last rdg. Feb. 9th. Would you advise another? What are we doing wrong? What can we do to stop the process which is steadily taking my sight?

“I have never been so discouraged. You seemed like the answer to my prayers. You have helped so many. Can’t you help me?”

R2. 3/27/34 GD’s letter:

“My dear Mrs. [360]:

Your letter of the 24th is before me. Mr. Cayce has been in Arizona with a friend for the last month, taking a much needed rest, but we expect him back the first of next week.

Under the circumstances, I think it is to our advantage to get a check reading on you, to see just what is the trouble and just why your eyesight has not improved correspondingly with the rest of your body. It may be that your general system is being cleared of poisons (which usually cause bad eyesight) and that your eyes, being the weakest point, are affected reflexly, but that as soon as the poisons are entirely removed your eyes will improve very much and suddenly. However, I think we should get a reading, without any cost to you this time - since you have been so persistent and conscientious in following the previous reading suggestions. I am, therefore, taking the liberty of making this appointment for Thursday afternoon, April 5th, between 3:00 and 4:00 o’clock Eastern Standard Time, which I feel sure will be satisfactory with Mr. Cayce.

My general health is much improved but the past wk. or so my eyes have been worse and today they are very much dimmer.

Is there anything to do with my jaw? I can only separate my teeth about one inch.

I have been using the violet ray for 2 mins. every p.m. and putting on potato poultice 3-4 times a wk. Sometimes the potato turns quite gray, at other times it has pink and brown spots. Shall I continue these treatments?

I am having Dr. Cornelia J. Browne give me 2 tr. every week.”
