This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [3626], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes. As we find, conditions here have reached rather serious proportions. There is the inability of controlling of the locomotory centers, and this has gradually grown to be more disturbing - in the abilities of the body to use hands as well as lower limbs, though the lower limbs are much farther advanced, in the disturbance.

  3. For this is the lack of the gray matter in nerve plasm itself that controls the centers of locomotion. Thus what should be voluntary activity now becomes involuntary, or there is the lack of control of the flexes of the muscular forces in limbs and in portions of the lower torso.

  4. With persistence, these can be materially aided. While we are working against karma, and there needs to be the renewing of the faith in the divine, (the body once had it) we find that if the body will use what abilities it has to help others, there may be the quicker response; whether merely by looking, speaking (though all of these abilities are also becoming involved) or acting towards others to bring cheer, happiness, even from a life that seems spent and lacking in such in its own life, as it gradually grows weaker.

  5. Then begin to use the Wet Cell Appliance carrying Gold vibratorially into the body. Make the Appliance regular strength. Use in the present and for the next five to six months only the Gold Solution, one grain Chloride of Gold Sodium to each ounce of distilled water, using three ounces.

  6. The small or copper plate would be attached to the 4th lumbar center, and the larger plate - through which the Gold Solution passes vibratorially - would be attached to the lacteal duct center, or on this body the width of three fingers from the navel center straight to the right, and two fingers up from that point. Make the attachments each day for thirty minutes.

  7. Keep this as a prayerful period, that there may be supplied in body and mind that which may bring that needed for the body to be the better channel for the God it would worship. That should be the prayer in the entity’s own words.

  8. Follow the Appliance treatment each day with a massage using this combination of oils, adding these in the order named:

Nujol, as the base…4 ounces, Cedar Oil…1 ounce, Peanut Oil…2 ounces, Olive Oil…1 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles…1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras Root…1/4 ounce, Lanolin (liquefied)…1 ounce.

  1. These will separate, but shake them thoroughly together, pour a small quantity into an open saucer and massage thoroughly. Do not pour back into the bottle any of the solution not used. Begin with the toes, the front bursa of the feet, especially the Achillean bursa, the lower portion of the calf of the leg, at and under the knee, around the knee, following the sciatic nerve to the torso; over the lumbar-sacral axis and through the groin. Do this, not just as something to be hurried through with, but take time to do it with patience, persistence, and let the one making the application encourage the body, not by the attitude of “I wonder what this will do, and what good is this, and why do you use this one, and leave out that one.”

  2. This should, this will supply strength to the superficial circulation. It will be absorbed by the body just as the low electrical forces enliven and give food from that assimilated from that taken in the body to supply greater stamina in the muscles, nerves and tendons.

  3. Keep the connection plates to the Appliance very clean. Connect them to the Appliance twenty minutes before they are attached to the body. Clean them with the sandpaper when taken off and just before applying to the body. Let these be tied to the body or adhered with tape, not so it is too tight, but so that it remains flat.

  4. Do have the proper diet. Eat plenty of seafoods, not fresh water fish, but seafoods. The iodine is needed to be assimilated and to act with the low electrical forces in the Appliance.

  5. Do take great quantities, or some every day of raw vegetables; especially watercress and carrots. Cooked beets may be grated with these, but when these are prepared, cook them only in Patapar paper, and mix the juices with them, as well as parts of the tops. We need the salts in the beet tops especially. Include carrots, lettuce, celery, radishes, onions, at various times. These may be put together or any portion of these used, but get all of them in some of the time. Prepare these in various forms. Often they may be prepared with gelatin.

  6. Of course, this would not be the whole of the diet. Keep the diet well balanced. Have wild game when possible; especially squirrel, or deer or bear. Any of these when at all possible. Don’t fry any of them!

  7. When these have been used for six months, we will give further instructions.

  8. We are through for the present.
