This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 31st day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3627], new Associate member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

Time of Reading 3:45 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, D.C.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, with the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the conditions here with this body, [3627].

3. These, as we find, are the result of impulses begun by subluxations, and then the effect produced in the disturbance brought about in the coordination of eliminations from the body. Thus drosses and disturbances that should be eliminated through alimentary canal are attempted to be thrown off through the superficial circulation. With the character of circulation externally, these find effects in the extremities, where the slowness of the circulation to pick up the return forces in the veins, causes this irritation and rash on the extremities.

4. These are the characters of disturbances that we find in this body.

5. While in some respects the conditions in blood supply are very good, with the slowness - especially when it is cold or when it changes from warm to cold, or cold to warm, or when there are great variations in pressures, we find that the pressures upon the dorsal and lumbar areas and the reflex from this to the brachial centers cause disturbances in the extremities.

6. These are the sources, and there is little disturbance in the organs or in their functions that will not be corrected as measures are taken to set up a better coordination in the eliminating channels of this body.

7. We would then begin first, with such as Waters, to have osteopathic corrections. While the whole cerebrospinal system should be included, there are to be specific corrections in the lumbar and sacral areas, and the reflex conditions in the upper dorsal and especially in the 3rd cervical areas.

8. After these have been taken for about two to three weeks, do begin having a course of treatments to set up better eliminations.

9. This should be done by the body taking such as Castoria for at least a day or day and a half; about a quarter to half a teaspoonful every hour until there are good eliminations from the alimentary canal.

10. Then there should be taken two heaping teaspoonsful of either Rochelle Salts or Sal Hepatica to flush the system.

11. Then have these properties prepared to cleanse or purify the system from that disturbance. Do prepare these in the order indicated.

12. To one-half gallon of distilled water put, in the order named:

Yellow Dock Root…1/2 ounce, Prickly Ash Bark…1/2 ounce, Buchu Leaves…10 grains, Podophyllin…1 grain, Elder Flower…1 1/2 ounces.

13. Let these boil, only in an enamel or glass container, until - when strained - there is only a pint left. To this add one and one-half ounces of grain alcohol in which has been cut two drams of Balsam of Tolu. The dose would be a teaspoonful once each day when ready to retire.

14. Do this, with the others - don’t do these backwards. Do the first things first, and do be persistent and consistent, and we will correct these conditions with the body.

15. Ready for questions.

16. (Q) Would this treatment relieve the itching inside of the ear? (A) It’ll relieve all of the itchings.

17. (Q) Would this treatment relieve the nervous tension for no apparent reason? (A) This will be relaxed through the osteopathic adjustments.

Do these things and we will have better conditions.

R1. 8/10/44 Report: “I followed the directions outlined in the reading and received beneficial results from the treatments given by Dr. Waters. There has been no return of the rash on the fingers and toes. As to the medicine ordered from Mr. T. R. Wirsing, … I took it according to the directions but I could not see that it caused any improvement in elimination. My circulation seems to be better and the skin to have acquired a more healthy appearance and the nervous tension relieved. The itching inside the ears continues, though not as persistent as formerly. I would say that there has been general improvement except in the matter of elimination, for which it is necessary to take a quantity of fruit juices before breakfast.”

R2. 12/22/47 Report: ”…[808] talked to HLC about his mother’s TB treatments and he said that inhaling the apple brandy, according to the Readings instruction (Jan. 1946 Bulletin) made her lungs like new, and I understood that even the scars vanished, - a miracle! So when [808] phoned me (she missed several meetings because of a cold) in the most excited way and urged me to begin on the brandy keg treatments without delay… I am terribly excited about this opportunity not only for what it might do for me, but because if after a few years any of my hundreds of scars do disappear, it will be an opening wedge in the closed minds of the Sanatorium doctors. I’ve had an X-ray at least once a year since 1930 and those calcium deposits are hard and fast and I have been told plenty of times by the doctors that they will be there as long as I am on this earth. So, we shall see!”

R3. 12/30/47 Report: ”…Now the key reposes on the radiator, much to the amusement or chagrin or what-have-you of the unbelievers. A report on this treatment is hardly in order after three days’ trial, but perhaps three years hence you may be receiving an enthusiastic account!”

R4. 7/19/49 Report: ”…Today I began again on the 636 [Cayce concoction]. The only effects I felt from the first ten days was a dull feeling in my head about the third and fourth day. Of course that might have been caused by the heat or something else. It is an interesting experiment and one I hope I can carry on. My health has been excellent the past two years and I’ve been able to do so much more than before without becoming exhausted that I feel any additional improvement will be truly miraculous. I like miracles and welcome all that come my way!”

R5. 9/5/62 GD’s note: Mrs. [3627] is still very active in A.R.E. work and is apparently in excellent health.

R6. 12/17/75 Friend Mrs. [808] wrote saying “[3627] has been having a tough time, since having the flu last fall, getting rid of the infection and has finally come to the conclusion that inhaling apple brandy fumes from the keg is the only answer. She has tried everything else and is so hopeful that she can remedy it with this. She has the keg but needs the sheet of directions, etc.”

B2. 11/29/43 Letter: ”…I have a chronic case of Tuberculosis but am able to work half a day. I have red spots on my hands and toes that itch acutely at times. When these first appeared about a year ago I was told that they were caused by “nerves.” I stopped work and rested for some months. The reappearance of this breaking-out seems to indicate the need of more than physical rest. This is the chief reason I wish to obtain a reading.”

B3. 1/22/44 Letter: ”…I am enclosing a list of questions. If any of these are unsuitable, please ignore them… Since writing to you in November the inflammation, swelling and itching of fingers and toes has subsided considerably… Inflammation, swelling and itching of fingers and toes. Nervous tension for no apparent reason. Numbness of hands and arms during night. Ears itching inside. Excessive dry throat at night. Is there any recommendation to improve my eyesight? Would any particular climate or place benefit my health?”
