GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [3646]. In giving an interpretation of the records, much of these would be rather directed towards those responsible for this entity’s entrance into the earth. For, if there is kept that which shows the purpose of the entity’s entrance, this entity may have much to do with the changing of the thought of many peoples.
-
Thus we would give that direction towards which there should be the training, the counseling, and then - when the entity has reached those periods of its own choice, or at thirteen years of age - we would give further directions, if these are sought by the entity itself.
-
With all of the horrors of destruction, with all the trials in the minds of men, in this period through which this entity and associates in its early experiences are passing, do keep the ability to see not only the sublime things in life, but the humor, the wit, yes, the ridiculous also - that may be drawn from the cynic as well as the pessimist, as in cartoons and the like.
-
For the entity should be trained in the abilities as a writer. Thus not as an historian in the sense of secular history, but as of literature, as one using those conditions in the experience of individuals as historical facts upon which would be the background of such writings.
-
Thus those conditions that would have to do with bringing English, as well as other languages to the better interpretation, may the entity be trained. And when the periods arise, there may be brought the better understanding.
-
For the entity in an experience before this was a jester in the Court of England, in the name H. Hockersmith. In the experience the entity set many things in order when there were those great stresses owing to the selfishness of men.
-
Also the entity was among those peoples of Israel who entered the Holy Land, who were married to the Canaanites; yet the entity was not among those who led the children of Israel astray. For it forsook Astheroth and served rather the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as the one that led the children of Israel through the Red Sea, through the Jordan.
-
Thus may the entity gain in the knowledge, in the study of those, even in its early years.
-
But when the entity is thirteen years, we would give further directions.
-
Train him especially in English, and at Eaton.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 3/17/44 Letter from [3646]‘s mother: ”…I was thrilled to receive my reading and that of my son. I have read them over several times and have come to the conclusion that they fit both of us perfectly, Both of them will be very helpful to me! …I am now in … with an exhibition called ‘AMERICA MARCHES WITH THE UNITED NATIONS’ as representative of the O.W.I., guide and lecturer on America and general ambassadress of good will. The British are so responsive. It is a job I love and take most seriously. The only drawback is that I have to be away from my little family for a fortnight at a time…”
R2. 2/15/47 Letter from [3646]‘s mother: ”…My son passed quickly into the other plane of consciousness at about 4:30 P.M. on February 6th, 1947. The enclosed clipping is not a full nor entirely accurate account, but it will serve to give you the main facts… I am in the hospital today expecting my third baby but he or she has delayed arriving… This will be our third child. [3646] was looking forward eagerly to ‘his’ arrival and was most anxious he should be a boy. He also said a few weeks before he died: ‘I’d like you to be my Mummy in my next life.’ I told him he might not be able to arrange that, but he persisted: ‘I’m going to ask God anyway.’ I remember answering, ‘Well, there is no harm in asking.’ I feel he was well prepared for what we call ‘death.’ I had told him in resume the story in There Is A River and before that I had simplified for him Stewart Edward White’s ‘The Unobstructed Universe.’ I also had studied what we believe as taught by our Churches - my greatest source being my own denomination The Episcopal Church, but I had also studied under Dr. Adolph Keller of Geneva…and under Glenn Clark…more recently, over here I had read and told him Lord Dowding’s ‘Many Mansions.’ …My first thought was that he would come back to us in the body of this tiny baby, especially as I had felt and told my husband that I felt that this baby had no personality as yet…and I wondered what type of soul we would attract this time… I do not, however, feel now that he necessarily will choose to return so soon even though he would like me to be his mummy in his next life. It may be too soon - there may be things for him to learn on another plane of consciousness. It may also be too much the same situation which was unsettling to him. He (this is hard to explain in a few words) was sensitive to the chaos in the world and to the financial insecurity of the last two years which we have had, due to his father’s generosity and kindness to his mother who died 1/23/47 after living with us as a helpless invalid… I had to neglect my children to nurse her… At a time when I was pregnant, it was all too much for me and [3646] suffered with me and for his father who was at a loss what to do about it and was consequently impatient and nervous and not his usual loving, cheerful self, so that the loving, happy atmosphere of our home was completely destroyed from about August ‘46 until 3/26/47, when, I feel [3646] succeeded in restoring it with our cooperation. He always was most solicitous that his Daddy and Mummy should be united and loving, as we were except when our house became the home of either my family or his, even if only for a visit of a few months…”
R3. 4/2/47 Note, giving change of address with clipping enclosed of the death of [3646]:
Clipping: “ICE BREAKS: Boys Lose Their Lives…the two other lads ventured on the frozen pond; the ice broke and they disappeared together. Dr. […] informed the Coroner that death was due in both cases to shock… The funerals of the two victims took place together at …”
R4. 5/1/47 Letter to [3646]‘s mother from HLC: ”…I wonder if you realize from his life reading that it was unusually short and that there was a reticence about giving any information until he could ask for it himself. I think there is much that we must come to understand regarding the inter-relationship between this plane of consciousness and those on the other side of the state we call death. Perhaps [3646] can get his reading now and go on preparing for the work which the reading indicated he could accomplish…”

Background
B1. 7/12/43 Letter from [3646]‘s mother: ”…Please note that I have decided to have Life Readings for both my son and myself [3645]…” [Religious preference: Church of England; First Episcopal Church of U.S.A.]
B2. 1/1/44 Questions submitted for life reading: “For what profession or work in the world should we have our son trained? Should we send our son to boarding school at the age of eight as parents do in England? Is the irritation which our son feels toward our house-keeper (in whose charge he is left six days a week from 8:30 to 7:15 P.M., as a result of my war work at the O.W.I., American Embassy) bad for him or will he adjust himself to her or vice versa? If it is bad for him, I will try to find someone more congenial to take care of him or failing that, will give up my work, as my first duty is to him. Our house-keeper’s name is […] and she is about 25, not very strong, but good hearted, though irritating to some people…”
