This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 15th day of January, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Pvt. [3651], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by article in Coronet.

Born November 9, 1923, in Livingston, Montana. Time of Reading 12:10 to 12:20 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Calif.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Huh! the Lord moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform! The parents of the entity came at a period as of a moment and remained, so that the entity was born here - in a circle and in an environ which will have much to do with many, many nations!

3. The entity should grow to be a linguist, to teach many varied languages and be a diplomat - but don’t be a Burr!

4. In interpreting the records here, as we find for this entity, there is much to be chosen from. But these we choose with the desire and purpose that the entity may apply its abilities in the present experience to fulfil that which it may better accomplish in this particular period of sojourn in the earth.

5. The entity came in this particular environ, yet the happenings in the present bring it rather in the position to be in contact with opportunities of which it may take advantage. Be mindful that there are not habits formed, or activities, that would desecrate the body; but rather let it still remain as the temple of the living God. For this is what it is meant to be, that ye may indeed be a channel through which many of thy brethren may come to know the love that passeth understanding, and the peace and harmony that comes only through the closer walk with the man of Galilee.

6. In interpreting the urges, these we find latent and manifested; those indicated as the politician or the spy, the linguist or interpreter for various groups. Yet if there is not the abusing of person, the entity will be in close association with those in high authority. Be willing to be the big frog in the little pond than the little frog in the big pond. But don’t croak too loud at any time! Think not more highly of thyself than ye ought to think.

7. Know that the Lord thy God is One, and that the law of the Lord is perfect - that if ye follow therein, He may use thee. And through that use may come to thee the desires of thy heart, in the material as well as in the mental and spiritual things.

8. For in Jupiter and in Mercury and in Mars we find the urges latent astrologically.

9. Thus a very active and a very prudent individual, yet one oft taking most any sort of a chance. This is not too good. To be sure, ye love the unusual, but keep close to that which is ever purposeful in thy experience and in thy activities.

10. But in thy training, as ye may have the opportunity in the present, do be the linguist - that ye may be the interpreter at many of those places where problems are to be the experience, if there is the fulfilling of those activities. But never forget thy ideals, and no matter what may be the place, the time that ye meet thy brother, know that all stand the same before the Lord thy God and their God. Remember, others may do as they may, but as for thee, ye will ever serve the living God.

11. Keep the faith. Keep the trust.

12. As to the appearances in the earth, these have been quite varied. Not all may be indicated, but as to how and why and where some have brought these latent urges:

13. Before this the entity was in the Norse land, among those who journeyed into the greater western portion or near to the central portion of Minnesota in the present land of nativity, when Eric the Red was among those active there.

14. The entity then, as Olsen-Olsen, became among those who journeyed there and remained to become a part of those peoples in that land. Thus were the northwestern lands made available when Clark made the expedition there, so that there were not the activities against those peoples at the time.

15. Thus may the entity use itself as a peacemaker among those of various groups, tribes, nations or countries.

16. Before that the entity was in the Russian land, or the Ukraine, in those periods of activity when there were the rebellions from the coasts of the eastern land.

17. Then in the name McGwsky, the entity brought a union of purposes that kept those of that particular period in the place where there could be given the better supplies for foods.

18. Thus the entity’s activities should be with the granaries, as it were, of the world. Learn to deal, then, with those in portions of Saskatchewan as well as in the Pampas area of the Argentine, as well as in portions of South Africa. 19. Before that the entity was in the Persian and Arabian land, when there were those peoples who journeyed from the Egyptian land to the City of Gold, in what is now the areas of Indo-China land.

20. The entity then was a merchant who made visits with the various gifts of trinkets and perfumes and gold and ivory and the carvings of same.

21. Then in the name Tschu, the entity made friendships with the teacher in the “city in the hills and plains.” Thus there grew from those activities the better relationships with those of many groups.

22. Thus may the entity apply itself in the present.

23. As to the abilities of the entity in the present:

24. Do make the efforts for becoming either a representative in diplomatic service or an interpreter of language in many varied lands.

R1. 3/5/44 He wrote from Australia giving his APO address % PM, San Francisco, saying: “Thank you very much and I hope that it will be my pleasure to receive my reading on January 15, 1944 soon.”

R2. 4/18/45 He ret’d a form (giving us same APO address) checking the request that we return any extra money we might have for him on deposit. He had none, since his reading had been given and mailed to him the year before.

PROPHET LEAVES TOWN A LEGACY

LIVINGSTON (AP)* - If predictions come true, California will fall into the ocean, New York City will be destroyed and the greater part of Japan will be underwater. But Livingston will emerge from it all as the food distribution center of the world.

That’s a comforting outlook for residents of Livingston. And a surprising number of people here are aware of that prophecy, according to Art and Mary Gilliam, who are devotes of Edgar Cayce and members of the Association for Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E.).

Edgar Cayce, known as the “sleeping clairvoyant” to some was a twice-born, double-dip Baptist by upbringing in Kentucky. He was born March 18, 1877, and died Jan. 3, 1945. In the meantime, he issued over 14,000 “readings” on topics ranging from a cure for halitosis to changes in the earth brought about by earthquakes, floods, war and famine.

Agriculture plays a big part in Park County’s economy and if the predictions of one man come true, local agriculture will also play a big part in the future of the world. He wasn’t your average Joe Sixpack.

RENNAISSANCE SEER

Thousands of people worldwide believe in the prophecies of Cayce and some like him to the famous Rennaissance seer Nostradamus. Several books have been published telling of his visions and others interpreting them. The Livingston prediction came about when a 21-year-old man, born here, wrote to Cayce and asked for a life reading in January of 1944. A life reading told of a person’s former lives, present life and future.

A transcript of the reading contained the man’s birthdate, birthplace and whereabout when the reading was given, but not his name.

The transcript is kept in the A.R.E. library in Virginia Beach, Va., which is dedicated to preserving and researching those 14,000 - odd readings.

ALTERED STATE

As with thousands of other readings, Cayce lay down in his study with a stenographer taking notes and went into his “altered state.” Some biographers describe this state as sleeping. Other scholars say Cayce was on a different plane of consciousness and voices spoke through him.

Cayce began the young man’s life reading.

The man, born in Livingston on Nov. 9, 1923, was at that time in the U.S. Navy serving in World War II.

A check of birth records at the Park County clerk and recorder’s office found two persons, a man and a woman, born on that date here. Neither the man nor woman, both 53 years old now, live in Livingston.

Anyway, the reading Cayce did for the young man has been used by Cayce scholars as a basis for predicting future events will drastically change the earth.

The Livingston man was urged by Cayce to become a linguist and a diplomat so he could deal with persons of many different nations.

FEED THE EARTH

The reading went on to say that the young man’s hometown “will have much to do with many, many nations” and that after the earth changes take place only five areas in the world would be able to feed the earth’s entire population. Those areas will be the Pampas in Argentina, parts of South Africa and Saskatchewan and areas in Nevada and Montana, Cayce said.

Cayce scholars interpret that to mean Livingston will be the food distribution center for the entire world.

The young Livingston man had been carefully prepared for his role in this future scene by experiences in his former lives, said Cayce.

Reincarnation is only one of the cornerstones of the Cayce philosophy.

In his most recent life, before the present, Cayce said the man was a Viking with Eric the Red in Minnesota when that Norse explorer came to America long before Columbus. The man had stayed behind, made friends with the native Indians and thereby smoothed the way for the Lewis and Clark Expedition when it journeyed through the area hundreds of years later.

Successes with health readings gained attention for Cayce and prophecies occupied most of his adult like, even though he wanted to be portrait photographer.

The ARE does not actively seek members, said Mrs. Galles. But members of the ARE will talk with anyone who askes about the Cayce philosophy.

No one really is sure when the earth changes that Cayce predicted will come about. And Mrs. Galles said they could even be overcome by common prayers of ordinary people.

She did say that Cayce research has timed the changes to begin when two famous volcanoes erupt simultaneously.

When Mt. Pele and Mt. Etna both start erupting, people in California have 90 days to leave or learn to swim, she said.

And Livingston had better prepare to be the most important city one earth.

R4. 1/12/78 GD’s note: At this late date I am wondering if he ever got his reading. We never heard again and, of course, have had no address for him so that we could keep in touch with him.

R5. 1/18/78 GD’s note: We obtained his address from the newspaper and found that indeed he did not receive his reading, so we are sending a copy to him asking for a report after he has had time to study it after all these years.

B1. 11/43 He wrote from Camp … [in Calif.]: “I am a member of the service and have something on my mind. I would like a reading if it is at all possible. Just a short time ago I ret’d from a furlough granted to me because of the death of my mother. [GD’s note: Both parents now deceased.] Since returning I have been in a very sad mood and I would like to have you help me.”

B2. 1/4/44 He wrote: “Would you please read for me on Jan. 15th as I requested in my application? You see I expect to be going overseas shortly, and I would like it before I leave. Please consider my case and I would be very grateful.”
