1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes. As we find, there are disturbances through this body. These arise primarily from a specific disturbance, as well as general conditions, causing periodically the headaches, the nausea, the rundown feeling, the tendencies for colds and disturbing activities.

3. There are those adherences in the organs of the pelvis of the womb to the side or the wall of the vagina.

4. These, as we find, then, need local applications first.

5. Then there should be the direct correcting osteopathically of those subluxations that exist through the sacro-ileac and throughout the lower lumbar, even to the 9th dorsal.

6. These corrections made, we should find much better conditions for this body.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) What local applications? (A) Go to a doctor - a good gynecologist, to be sure! These areas need to be packed and straightened and put in position.

Chief Complaint - Lack of energy, depression. Date of Onset - 1944 Duration - four months. (Never regained complete energy, but was much improved) Reoccurrence - 1946 Intensity - Extreme intensity.

Physicians’ Diagnosis and Treatment: Physicians could find nothing wrong. Gave liver shots. Finally found osteopath who relieved depression and after his treatments for a couple of months, felt much better.

Reading’s Recommendations: Gynecologist, for packing of the vagina. (womb adhering to side wall of vagina)

Osteopathy for subluxations through sacro-ileac and lumbar - to 9th dorsal areas.

Gentlemen:

My wife (an Associate Member) has mentioned that in one of your recent releases you indicated a desire for additional funds to be applied to your building Fund.

I wish it were possible for me to make a really generous contribution, since your work, and that of the Founder, has meant so much to my wife, who is quite ill with Undulant Fever and is frequently rather despondent. (I enjoy reading it, too, when I am able to get my one-mouse-power-brain in gear enough to think I comprehend the stuff).

Anyway, please accept the enclosed with my sincere thanks for what you are doing. When circumstances permit, I shall try to better express my appreciation.

Dear Mrs. Turner:

Thank you so much for your nice letter explaining the mix-up about [3674] and the clerical error in connecting me with him. I thought it too good to be true to have another incarnation suddenly appear from my reading, which had not included it at first. I do hope that your survey is helpful and that much corroboratory material will be supplied.

Thank you, too, for sending a copy of Mother’s [4034] reading, which I sent on to her. She will probably send you some additional material about it. The rush of the war years caused us to neglect reporting back properly at the time.

As to my reading 3675-1, I gave only a brief report, I believe. At the time of the reading, I did not have the interest and understanding of Mr. Cayce’s work that I now have. In fact, all that we knew of him was what we read in a brief article in Coronet Magazine (which had caused us to contact him in the first place). I therefore did not have the “nerve” to show the reading to the doctors I consulted. (I am sorry). However, I did follow the suggestions outlined. The Gynecologist I consulted did not describe my condition, but did give correctional treatments, and subsequent examinations have resulted in reports of normal conditions. As to the suggestion for osteopathic treatment: I went to Dr. […] (sorry not to remember his name, but he is very fine, and has been president of the national osteopathic society, so is well known). I did not show him the reading, and he did not tell me his diagnosis, but he did treat me, and I did feel better that year than I had for some years. I am so ashamed that I did not write to Mr. Cayce to say so. Dr. […] went on vacation, and I discontinued the treatments, thinking that I did not need them since I was feeling fine. After a few months, I had a series of illnesses, with fevers, and was treated for flu (I did not have an osteopath, since it did not then fit our medically-slanted experience to associate them with other than back ailments), and started on a strange round of illness. By the time we thought to consult Mr. Cayce again, it was too late. Anyway, I went from doctor to doctor, and all things together with the war pressures and illness gave me a bad time. FINALLY, I went to an osteopath in …, Kentucky…Dr. […] who treated me until her death. We moved to … four years ago, and I have had treatments from […] of the … Osteopathic Hospital in … for the last three years, and also in the past few months from Dr. […] …, Ohio. Both of these gentlemen say they are treating the condition as described by Edgar Cayce in the reading! (Dr. […] is a friend of the […]‘s whom I don’t know, and is a great admirer of Mr. Harmon Bro, as am I, although I have not met him, either. Dr. […] is greatly interested in the readings and I did finally show him the reading made for me). (This Dr. […] is not an osteopath, but is a doctor of physical medicine, or natural medicine.)

I am grateful to Edgar Cayce and the A.R.E. for the help in 1944, of course, but my greatest gratitude is for the spiritual help that came as a result of a study of the readings and my association with you wonderful people. I have always wanted to come to Virginia Beach and meet you all, and still hope to some day. I did get to meet Mr. Hugh Lynn (how awkward that sounds! but I CAN’T just call him Hugh Lynn) Cayce at the “intermission” of his lecture here, which we enjoyed so much. The only reason that I was so presumptuous was that we had to leave and I just couldn’t go away without giving a token of gratitude for blessings from him and his father and all of you!

Truly, God is blessing us with the wisdom to know and execute His will and love with joy and grace, always. This I believe. Don’t you?

Dear Mrs. Turner:

A few weeks ago I sent you a letter outlining my treatment pattern after receiving a reading from Edgar Cayce in 1944. In that letter, listing the osteopaths who have treated me since that time, I named the following: Dr. […] …, Ohio; Dr. […] …, Kentucky; and […] …, Ohio.

Today I was in Dr. […]‘s office, and he showed me a carbon copy of a letter from A.R.E. to a lady in …, Ohio, in which Dr. […] and another doctor were named as osteopaths who had had some experience with the Edgar Cayce readings, many years ago. I do not know the other doctor, but as far as Dr. […] is concerned, it was a misstatement of fact, as you will see if you will re-read my letter. Dr. […] has been my doctor since we moved to Cleveland almost four years ago, but he was not practicing when Mr. Cayce was giving readings, and he had not heard of the A.R.E. until I told him about it.

It is extremely embarrassing to me that you have used my information without checking it, and without permission, in a way that might embarrass someone else. I consider it a breach of private correspondence, and I do not like it in any degree. If it was you intention to be helpful to the lady in … as I am sure it must have been, I consider this a most unfortunate approach. If you had contacted the doctors, asking if they were willing to have their names associated with the organization’s work in that way, I could understand. This was unfair, I think, to them, to their patients, and to the A.R.E.

Although mistakes are bound to occur in all operations, this is an error which would have been avoided if you had followed a policy of asking permission for the use of names.

Please remove the names of all doctors from my report, for I would not want this to happen again. In particular, please remove Dr. […]‘s name from your files, since he does not want to be associated with the organization in any way.

In view of my long association with A.R.E., and of my deep interest in the Edgar Cayce material, I am indeed sorry that this happened.

Dear Mrs. [3675]:-

In all my years of referring people to osteopaths, I have never before had a single one object. I personally have perhaps introduced more people to osteopaths than any other one person outside of the profession. Usually I refer people to graduates of the Kirksville School of Osteopathy because that is the one that Edgar Cayce stressed in his readings. The founders of osteopathy and of the Kirksville College knew Edgar Cayce’s work and appreciated it. He had many letters from Dr. Still and Dr. Hildreth. I have a directory of the American Osteopathic Association which I use constantly.

When our member in …, Ohio asked for a list of Osteopaths in the … area, I could have sent her a half dozen names of osteopaths which I could recommend simply because they were graduates of the Kirksville School; but I felt that since it was her first experience with an osteopath she should be referred to one who at least was familiar with the name Edgar Cayce, since she was attempting to follow advice which he had given in a reading. I included Dr. […]‘s name because you had spoken highly of him and I knew he must be a good osteopath. You did indicate in your letter that he said he had been treating your condition as described by Edgar Cayce in the reading. This certainly gave me the idea that he would at least be sympathetic enough to listen to the lady’s problem and try to help her. Accepting a patient whom I referred to him would certainly not call for any involvement in any method of treatment other than his own.

I am very sorry indeed if this experience has embarrassed you or Dr. […]. I am taking his name off the list and will certainly not refer anyone else to him.

We have over a hundred and fifty physicians of various schools - osteopaths, medical men, chiropractors, physiotherapists, etc., etc., who have expressed their interest in the Edgar Cayce records and some of these men are carrying on research projects connected with these records. Most of the osteopaths whom I have come in contact with appreciate what Edgar Cayce has done to boost osteopathy. He has perhaps done more to educate people to the value of osteopathy than any other one man including members of the Osteopathic profession.

From what you say, apparently Dr. […] felt that I was trying to “trap” him into an allegiance to the Edgar Cayce work, which was certainly not the case. It never occurred to me that he would object to having a person report to him whom he might be able to help.

I am especially sorry to have offended you in this matter, but I assure you no offense or ulterior motive was intended.
