This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of March, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [3695], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in CORONET.
[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor: Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.)]
Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Washington.
-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3695].
-
As we find, there are rather serious disturbances here which prevent the better conditions in the general physical forces of the body. These are the effects of lack of glandular reactions in assimilation to give the proper stimuli to the nerves and muscles, especially of the locomotories.
-
Hence the inability of the body (and it has been and is rather of the progressive nature) to control the muscular forces of the limbs and those portions of body.
-
While the conditions may be aided, it will require patience, persistence and a great deal of determination on the part of the body and mind to attain to a control or a usefulness, or to use properly the limbs.
-
First there is a lacking of elements to give stamina in the mineral deposits for the activity in the muscular forces. There is a lack of iodine, gold and camphor, or the reaction of these chemicals in the body.
-
Thus we find that there should be the use daily, consistently, of the low Wet Cell Appliance. This should be renewed consistently. Though rather crude in its preparation, this Appliance will be effective if there is the persistent use of this, too, with the massage and the diet that may be indicated for the body. By the time there is the change in the body-cycle, or the new cycle - at thirty-two, the body should show real improvement. It will be long, it will require persistence, but this offers the helpful forces for the body.
-
Prepare the Appliance with this strength solution:
Copper Sulfate…2 pounds, Sulfuric Acid, C.P…1 1/4 ounces, Zinc…6 drams, Willow Charcoal…1/2 pound.
-
The Appliance should be used for thirty minutes each day, one day carrying the vibrations of Chloride of Gold Sodium, in the proportions of one grain to each ounce of distilled water - and use three ounces of the solution.
-
The next day use Atomidine, in the proportions of one ounce of commercial strength Atomidine (which is atomic iodine) in two ounces of water.
-
The next day use Spirits of Camphor, commercial strength, three ounces of this.
-
Each day the large plate through which the solution passes vibratorially to the body, should be attached at the umbilical and lacteal duct center, which for this body would be the width of two fingers from the navel center to the right and three fingers up from that point.
-
When using the Gold Solution (every third day, you see), the small copper plate would be attached at the 9th dorsal center.
-
When using the Atomidine (every third day, you see), attach the small plate at the 2nd dorsal center.
-
When using the Camphor Solution (every third day), attach the small plate at the 4th lumbar center.
-
Remove the connections from each solution when not in use. Prepare these for use, or connect them, about thirty minutes before the Appliance is to be attached to the body.
-
Do keep the attachment plates very clean, polishing them with the emery paper each time before attaching and each time when removing the attachments from the body.
-
When removing the connections from the solutions, wipe dry and cleanse with a soft cloth, keeping the Gold Solution corked and in a dark place when not in use.
-
Every thirty days renew the charging solution and also renew each of the other three solutions.
-
These would be used consecutively, you see; one day the Gold, the next day the Atomidine, the next day the Camphor, and so on.
-
Each day following the Appliance treatment massage the body along the spine, especially across the lumbar-sacral areas and the limbs, with this combination of oils, adding these in the order named:
Olive Oil (heated)…2 ounces, Tincture of Myrrh…2 ounces, Lanolin (heated so it will liquefy)…1/4 ounce.
Dip the fingers in a small quantity poured into a saucer and massage all that the body will absorb daily; sponging off with a combination of one pint of luke warm water and one-quarter ounce of grain alcohol.
-
In the diet do add a great deal of every form of vegetable that grows under the ground; those of the tuberous nature - potatoes, yams, artichokes, oyster plant and every form of tuberous vegetable. Use at least two or three of those that grow under the ground to one that grows above the ground.
-
Do take those mineral salts that aid in keeping good eliminations.
-
Do these and we will bring better conditions for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What is the cause of the stomach, bladder and kidney irritation? (A) This is all because of the unbalanced chemical conditions. A change in the character of the diet will make a great deal of difference. Fish, fowl and lamb may be taken in moderation. Never take fried foods of any kind.
-
(Q) What should be done for facial acne? (A) Keep up the eliminations well and we will find better conditions throughout the body-forces.
-
We are through with this reading.

B1. 9/30/43 [3695]‘s husband’s letter:
“I enclose herewith an application for Associate Membership in your Association, accompanied by my personal check for the membership dues.
“You will please note that this application blank is for my wife, [3695], and that she is also requesting a Physical Reading.
“We would appreciate securing this reading at your earliest possible convenience. Mrs. [3695] has been consulting various doctors for the past seven years, and has not as yet been able to get any definite information on the cause and cure of her trouble. Although not confined to her bed, there have been periods of several months during which she has been unable to leave the house.
“After having read THERE IS A RIVER, and the various literature sent us the other day, we feel that Mr. Cayce will be able to give us the aid which we have been unable to find elsewhere. One cannot read of the splendid work that Mr. Cayce has been doing for more than forty years without feeling that a tremendous power for good has been given him, and a feeling of renewed hope for an otherwise hopeless condition…”
B2. 10/26/43 [3695]‘s husband’s letter:
“When I wrote you a short time ago about an earlier reading than the original date set, I mentioned that Mrs. [3695]‘s condition was better than it had been for some time. However, for the past week she has noticed symptoms pointing to a return of these former conditions, and the last two days these adverse conditions have been present in full force. I therefore wired you today, hoping that it would be possible for you to advise us immediately so that we could take corrective action.
“The major questions which we would like to have answered are: 1. In what part of the body is the source of the trouble? 2. What can be done to reach this source and bring about relief and a cure?
“As I mentioned before, medical science does not seem to know what to do, there having been about as many remedies suggested as there were doctors visited, with no permanent help. The temporary help which has been afforded at times might well have been the result of the normal fluctuations which have been noted, and not the result of medications.
“We would appreciate your immediate consideration of this request…”
B3. 1/19/44 [3695]‘s husband’s letter to EC:
“You have asked me to send you a list of questions to be used in your reading for Mrs. [3695] to be held on February 2nd.
“It would not be practical for us to put down here all the detailed questions we would like to have answered in regard to Mrs. [3695]‘s condition. We would like, however, to touch on the most important facts, leaving to you the detailed analysis.
“In the seven years that Mrs. [3695] has been troubled, she has been to about twenty-five doctors, none of whom has given satisfaction or even known what should be done. As we have mentioned in our earlier correspondence, the conditions are somewhat fluctuating, generally appearing gradually, lasting for a period of time, then gradually subsiding for no apparent reason, although never disappearing entirely.
“About five years ago the condition was diagnosed as ‘multiple sclerosis’. Since that time, other doctors have accepted that diagnosis as being the nearest to anything that they could think of. One prominent diagnostician made the statement that although some of the symptoms were similar to those of multiple sclerosis, a number of factors usually found in that disease were not present, and the usual progression found with multiple sclerosis was not present. However, for want of a better diagnosis he decided that it could be called multiple sclerosis for the present.
“We are not satisfied with that diagnosis, but believe that there must be some major disturbance which is the cause of all this. We are therefore turning to you for information as to the exact nature of the disturbance, its probable cause, and the best method of treatment to eliminate those conditions that have presented themselves from time to time.
“We would also like to know if the stomach, bladder, and kidney irritation is from the same cause, or if some other reason might be found for this.
“There is also a facial acne condition which is responding only slightly to dermatology. Please suggest a remedy for this.
“We believe that you will be able to be of great help to us in the above, and would appreciate the results of the reading at your earliest convenience after February 2, 1944. During the time of the reading Mrs. [3695] will be at our home at …, Washington…”
