LBC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
Now, we find there have arisen acute conditions in the physical functioning of the body.
-
Cold, congestion, has brought about inflammation in and about the body until there is specifically about the lung that of the acute condition in the pleurae or the cavity about same. This, as we find, has brought temperature and acute pain and suffering.
-
We would, to meet the needs of the condition at the present time (and this should be done at once), use as this for the atmosphere as is breathed by the body in the room:
-
In boiling water (or keep boiling in the room where there may be breathed into the lungs those properties as this): in half a gallon of water (unless croup cup is used), put
Eucalyptol…1/2 ounce, Benzoin…30 minims, Rectified Creosote…10 minims.
-
Bathe the feet and lower limbs in hot mustard water.
-
Keep the body warm and moist.
-
Little stimulants - and keep plenty of Yellow Saffron Tea, see?
-
Do that.
-
To reduce temperature, this may be brought about by alcohol rubs, see? but apply these IMMEDIATELY. Do that, [37].
-
To half a gallon of water (boiling - and kept boiling) add the Eucalyptol, Benzoin and Creosote, in the proportions given. This to be inhaled, see?
-
Apply as poultice about lungs or chest PREFERABLY mullein - green mullein, or the flaxseed, see?
-
Bathe the feet in hot mustard water.
-
Use the alcohol to reduce temperature.
-
Little stimulants, see? These stimulants may consist of any properties that are a stimulation to the excretory system, see? Spirits Frumenti in mild form. Champagne, or any of these, just so they do not work a hardship on the body. Gin - mild, see? and take PLENTY of hot Saffron Tea.
-
Do that.
-
We are through for the present.

R1. 9/4/27 Letter from [37]‘s husband: ”…It is with a very thankful heart that I write you this letter. It was so good of you to give me the reading for [37] at such a late hour. It was more than I expected and we are both extremely grateful to you for your great kindness. Everything in the reading coincided with the case and she felt immediate relief from the vapour; it acted like magic. The illness had got firm hold when I called you and she was in great pain. Am pleased to tell you that she seems a great deal better, the pain having entirely gone. She is very weak but expect that time will take care of that…”
