This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of March, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. […], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.)]

In the Stanford Time of Reading Convalescent Home, 4:00 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern War Time. Palo Alto, Calif.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes. As we find here we have conditions that may be said to be prenatal, causing infections through the body and an incoordination in the circulation of heart, lungs, liver and kidneys; producing then, by this incoordination of proper eliminations by the secretions of glandular forces, those tendencies for a strep in the blood supply; producing a condition of rheumatic fever or strep in the blood.

  3. We find that these disturbances should be eliminated with a series of the short wave electrical treatments (though severe) keeping the body quiet. We would give these at least twice each week.

  4. Once each week, during the same periods, have a sweat, with a great deal of water taken at all times by the body. Drink at least ten glasses full of water during a day, and especially quantities of water when the sweats are given.

  5. After the sweats, massage the body with cocoa butter, especially along the spine and over the chest and abdominal area. Massage this thoroughly into the body, cleansing off with a combination of one part grain alcohol (not rub alcohol) to twenty parts of water.

  6. Do these regularly and we will eliminate those conditions being produced. The short wave should not be too high nor used for too long a period, just sufficient to produce the heat to the structural portions of the body.

  7. In the diet keep close to those foods that are body building for the developing body. Have plenty of whole grain cereals at all times, fish and fowl, and plenty of leafy vegetables.

  8. Do these if we would bring better conditions.

  9. It would be better for these treatments to be given twice a week for three to four weeks, with the sweat bath and massages once a week and then to leave off for a week to two weeks and then repeat. Do this for five to six series and we should have better conditions for this body.

  10. Ready for questions.

  11. (Q) Is Oakland climate detrimental? (A) Not necessarily. To be sure there are low pressures here for the body, but the infectious forces from within need to be eliminated from the system, where the incoordination is produced, and with these manners of treatments we should keep a balance in heart, lungs, liver and kidneys without producing a great strain on any of them.

  12. (Q) May a normal life be expected, or a sedentary life due to damaged heart muscles? (A) It depends upon how well these treatments are followed. Don’t stop before the poisons are eliminated. Then we may begin at the second cycle, or at fourteen years of age to have near to normal developments.

  13. We are through with this reading.
