GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions that will gradually get to be more and more disturbing unless measures are taken to correct same.
-
As we find there has been an injury or a subluxation produced by a wrench in the spine near the 4th, 5th and 6th dorsal. This tends to slow the impulse of circulation to shoulder and right arm especially, but to the brachial center specifically. It has caused an accumulation of the poisons through the usage of arm and the regular circulation, to form as hardening conditions at the end of elbow, in wrist and in shoulder joint.
-
These as we find, should respond readily to these applications, though it will be rather severe at the first or second treatment.
-
We would begin first applying Epsom Salts Packs over the areas where the pressures exist; right shoulder and arm, the left shoulder and wrist. Apply these for an hour each day for at least three days in succession.
-
Then have an osteopathic adjustment with Dr. Dick.
-
At the same time, before the adjustment is made, we would have a Fume Bath using a teaspoonful of Atomidine to the quart of boiling water in the cabinet to produce the steam; though not all of the quart would be steamed on the body at one time.
-
Also at the same time we would have an internal bath, purifying the whole of the colon area so that the eliminations will be set up to remove the poisons and accumulations and eliminate through the alimentary canal.
-
After a rest period then of a day to two days, repeat for an hour each day for three days in succession the Epsom Salts Packs, as hot as the body can well stand.
-
Then have another adjustment, then a rest period, and then the third series.
-
Then have another colonic to purify the system.
-
These should bring better conditions for the body.
-
In the diet take more of the eliminating foods to purify the whole of the alimentary canal; more vegetables and less meats. For several months we find that fruits and vegetables should be the principle portions of the diet; though fish and fowl should be taken occasionally.
-
Do these and we should find real help.
-
Ready for questions.

We are through with this reading.

R1. 5/51 GD’s note to Dr. Marion Dick: We have had no correspondence or information on this case since the reading was given. Any information you can give us will be most helpful. GD.
R2. 6/2/51 Dr. Dick’s reply to Questionnaire: This patient [3708] never contacted me.
Signed Marion A. Dick, D.O. (Physician)
R3. 12/19/67 Mrs. [3708] requested a copy of her rdg: “I did not follow through with the treatment because it was physically impossible for me to get to the osteopath suggested. Furthermore I got no encouragement to do so… The book which I’m reading (The Sleeping Prophet) has stirred the interest once again.”
R4. 6/8/73 She wrote: “Could you please recommend an orthopedic doctor in my area [Fla.] who might understand your work? I had a reading 3/18/44. I would like to have treatments if I found a doctor who might consider your report for a base to start with.” [GD’s note: Membership Dept. sent her the names of nearby osteopaths.]

B1. 12/1/43 Letter: “Calcium growth on ends of the bursae in the upper arm - very painful…”
B2. 12/18/43 [3708]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce -
Could you please give me a reading as soon as possible. My arm has suddenly gotten worse so that I have awful pain in my shoulder and whole arm.
I have written you before explaining that there is a calcium growth at the end of the bursae in my right arm. Please tell me what to do. It is very painful and I have a 7 mo. old baby. You can well understand as how I need the use of it urgently.
Respectfully yours, [3708]
B3. 1/13/44 [3708]‘s ltr. to EC:
Philadelphia, Pa.
Dear Mr. Cayce:
Your letter requested that I make a list of questions to be answered.
The one question paramount is: “What shall I do to correct or cure the condition that is affecting my right arm and shoulder, back of neck, and left wrist?”
What is this disease and is it a general condition?
Will it spread to other parts of the body?
Can it be cured or just arrested?
It is with great interest that I ask the last 3 questions but really the only one question that need be answered is the first - “What is it and what shall I do?”
I am reading the book “There is a River” and find it amazing. I am grateful to get an opportunity to read such an inspiring book.
I realize that you are very busy and are booked far ahead with appointments…
B4. 2/3/44 “Getting worse…spreading to shoulder,” etc.
B5. 3/44 Verifying appointment: (Form) If possible, please ask the following questions at the end of my Reading:
- What is my trouble and what to do for it?
- Is it curable?
- Is it a general condition and to what extent?
- Will it progress? [3708] (sign full name, not initials) (If Reading is to be for a child, sign the child’s full name, then: By-----)
