This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 3rd day of December, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [3710] via Mrs. [4691].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find there are those conditions that are abnormal with the body that may be assisted and helped a great deal, and by care, persistence, and by the body keeping eliminations as near normal as possible, bring much good for the physical forces of the body.

4. Now, these are conditions as we find them with this body:

The general physical conditions are very good, save where there has come an obstruction in cell tissue in the lower portion of the tongue, and this produces that which causes the distress to the body in the mental way and manner, and the coughing, hard breathing, and the existing disturbance at times in the intestinal system. Hence we will find that it will be necessary to keep those conditions for the body that will keep the system in as near the true antiseptic system as is possible - that is, not allowing any drosses from the system to accumulate in any of the intestinal tract, and not allowing any of the discharge from phlegm as thrown from the affected parts to cause any irritation in any other portion of the body.

6. The diet, the general exercise of the body as has been kept for the system, is very good. Those properties as have been given the body to cause rest will ONLY cause rest, but these weaken the condition in system, and when these other properties are used in the sufficient manner to give ease, keep away from these sedatives as much as is possible, though the body need not allow itself to become racked with pain to the point where it cannot endure the condition, for the mental and physical agony both would be severe, straining on the system, and produce toxins in the blood and in the general system that would prove detrimental to the body, but first we would use this:

7. Use the heavy Radium Appliance ever across the solar plexus, see? At least five minutes each day rest, lying prone, and lay pad across the throat, see? Just about where the Adam’s apple would be on man, or at the lower portion of the tongue, see?

8. Take Petrolagar continually - that is, tablespoonful once to twice each day, using the alkaline Petrolagar, see?

9. Prepare an inhalant of this nature and character, which will relieve this cough, and which will reduce the irritation and assist the appliance that Radium gives to the body to carry out disseminating the conditions, allowing the body to bring about better resistance in the body:

10. To four (4) ounces of pure grain alcohol, add:

Eucalyptol…15 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp…5 minims, Canadian Balsam…5 minims, Benzoin…3 minims, Tolu in Solution…40 minims.

Dissolve or place in this - in this carrier that it will dissolve one-sixtieth (1/60th) of a grain of Heroin, see?

11. Inhale this whenever the body feels the tendency to cough. Inhale through the mouth. Keep solution in a glass stoppered container, at least three times the size of the quantity of solution. Shake solution before it is inhaled inhaling only the gas as forms from the fumes from this, see?

12. Do that, and we will find we will bring better conditions to this body.

13. The condition, as is seen, is not WHOLLY malignant, for it sluffs off, and may be removed by absorption, provided the system keeps the resistance as will prevent this from becoming set up in a form where the condition builds within itself. A broken tissue and irritation at present. Laceration that has become self-infected.

14. We are through for the present.

R1. 12/4/26 EC’s letter to Mrs. [3710]: “I enclose you, herewith, the rdg. gotten at the appointed time. I am sorry we couldn’t get this sooner, but our appt’s are so heavy at the present time, every possible moment seems taken up - but I’m certainly very much in hopes that this reaches you in time to be of a great deal of help and value to you. I believe it will, if you will carry out the suggestions fully as they are given.

“The Radium Appliance - you will be able to obtain this from: The Radium Appliance Co., Bradbury Bldg., Los Angeles, Calif.

“As I understand, these pads are made in two or three sizes. The second or third size, or one heavily charged, I believe is the one that you should have. I understand, Mrs. [3710], that these are sent to you C.O.D., $30 I believe - thirty or fifty - the two larger sizes, and after using them thirty days, if you do not find improvement, they may be returned and they will refund your money. This, I am sure, is fair enough.

“The inhalant for the cough, I think you can have prepared by The Greene Drug Co., Birmingham, Ala. It may be possible that you will have to have your physician write the prescription, as you will see this contains a narcotic, but one that you are not taking internally, save the small amount that you would receive by inhaling the gas or fumes passed off by these chemicals or oils combined.

“I assure you, Mrs. [3710], of our especial interest in your condition, and assure you of our desire to be of help if it is at all possible. We hope that you will let us hear from you real often, and assure you that any time we can take up your condition to find if you are getting any improvement, we shall be glad to undertake it. My dear Mr. Cayce:

Mrs. [3710], …, Alabama, has ordered a throat pad - the trouble stated on order blank as “Can’t talk.” This is a single strength throat pad at $15.00.

I am writing Mrs. [3710] advising the purchase also of the body pad to build up the general health and condition because so often a throat pad is taken off for the sake of dress and the treatment therefore broken. To wear the specials along with the regular body pad is the best way to obtain satisfactory results.

Glad this order came thru and hope it turns out to be a sale.

B2. 9/28/26 She returned appt. card saying: ”…I am troubled with my throat. I am hoarse all the time, and I have been to several specialists and they all say I have ‘CANCER’. But Mrs. [4691] has told me about the treatment you gave her and I want you to give me the rdg. at the time stated…to see if there is any help or cure for my throat, and if I do have cancer of the throat. I feel well, have a good appetite, but my throat is all my trouble I have. I cough so badly especially at night, until my Dr. here has given me something to take to help stop the cough at that time. I will gladly do anything you say to get relief or help me of my trouble.

“I have been bothered with this hoarseness for about 10 months. It is sore down into the larynx and has pus in it too. I will be glad to do exactly what you say to do.”

B3. 10/23/26 GD wrote [3710] that her rdg. would be delayed because EC was delayed in Kentucky.

B4. 11/9/26 EC’s letter to Mrs. [3710]: “I am sorry indeed that we have not been able to keep the appt. for your rdg., but the illness and death of my mother has caused the delay.

“We are trying now to take these up that still wish readings, as fast as it is possible. We can make this appt. for you for the afternoon of the 3rd of Dec. If this is satisfactory; we will ask that you please fill out the enclosed card again, with whatever contribution you desire to make at this time. While we do not make a stipulated charge, the upkeep of my family, as well as that of the work itself, depends upon the contributions from those we try to serve. If you do not wish this made, please let us know, for we have a long waiting list, and limited as we are in the number of rdgs. that my be taken in one day, it is necessary that we keep these in order, and know that we are trying to serve those who wish to cooperate with that we are trying to do. We sincerely hope that the delay has not been serious, and that we may be of signal service.”
