1. EC: In these mental conditions as we find, bringing the strains on this body, these we find will be necessary to use those of the physical conditions to overcome that as has been produced in a physical manner in the body. This, then, should be brought under the care and attention of one who gives deep manipulations, and remove the pressure and strain as is produced on the 1st and 2nd cervical, producing depressions in and about that of the vital nerve passing through the system, that comes in touch with the functionings of the pneumogastric and of the organs in pelvis. Without the removing of this pressure, we find these conditions will gradually grow to that wherein the body would become violent in nature and in action, and necessary of confinement, for this condition is an exaggeration of the mental unbalancing through strain produced by the condition of the mental through the action of the pituitary gland. The sooner these would be taken care of, the better for same.

While giving some other work this morning, we got the enclosed and sent you wire as is suggested in same. I certainly hope that this will prove of a great deal of help, and I hope you’ll let me hear from you every opportunity. You know I’m only too glad to be of assistance if it’s at all possible.

R2. 6/29/25 Wife’s letter to EC:

The … House On the road to …, Maryland

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I received your telegram on Saturday, and the letter this morning. I thank you indeed for the advice… I am wondering how I shall put it into execution. Mr. [3714] is difficult - to handle. His right arm has been giving him intense pain, but he won’t listen to going to an osteopath. He is a very positive sort…and sometimes it seems as tho he is under some “influence” that is beyond my reach. These moods last sometimes for six weeks…and sometimes they are gone in half that time. They seem to grow more violent…but there isn’t a thing I can do, but to try to be gentle and patient.

I am thinking a great deal about you, these days. I am positive that I must do something about this house…for I cannot keep on doing without any money… Mr. [3714] has the most impossible mental attitude about the entire thing. The farm, and house…and everything is mine, bought years before I knew Mr. [3714] but he insists everything is his. He keeps every cent that comes in, in his bank account…checking it out - and buying the supplies…which is alright from his stand point. But - I haven’t a cent.

I am trying to find a way to sell the place to a corporation, and to continue to run it…of course on a salary. I want to build a 20 room “rest house” for men only. At a flat rate of ten dollars a day, this would pay well. The Justices of the Supreme Court, the members of the Cabinet, the biggest Senators and Members, and the many prominent Professional men of Washington, would keep it filled and - it would do a lot of good. The new Southern Maryland Highway comes within half a mile of this place…which means all the year round, good roads. I have lately found a most wonderful woman, Dr. Brosenne. She was first a trained nurse, then - studied Chiropractor method. Then, she added her own idea of “cupping”…and in this way, she reached deep circulation. There is a white sulphur spring on this place, and I can see how wonderful it would be to have besides the rest house, a “Cure House”…using her to give the treatments. If Your Institute could be here, too…I am thinking a great deal of good could be done.

It would take a great deal of money…but I can see how it would pay well, too. I have an Estate, house of 24 rooms, and a business with a reputation second to none. It ought to be possible to capitalize this business…of course incorporating it…and by developing the many sides to this business, enough money would be earned to pay the interest and much more…on the amount of the capitalization.

Let me hear what you think about it.

I want to thank you for your kindness to me. I shall receive some money in a few days for a hanging which I sold…and then I will send you something to cover my share of your overhead. I am in deep waters, these days…but I KNOW God’s Will must be done… I am very certain that I shall be led to do whatever is the Thing.

R3. 7/14/25 EC’s letter to [3714]‘s wife:

My dear Mrs. […]

Glad to have yours of the 29th, certainly hope that you have succeeded in persuading Mr. [3714] to do something towards the improvement of his physical condition.

I read with a great deal of interest what you say regarding the possibilities of the work on your properties. However, I am not in any position just at the present time to make any arrangements for a place of this kind. I have been in hopes from time to time to be able to make a deal whereby I could control at least sufficient of this world’s goods to establish a place of that kind. Just as yet, I’m not able to do so. I had thought that I would be in Washington and would have seen you before this. It seems now it will be at least thirty days yet before I’ll be able to make this trip. I’m trusting I shall be able at that time to make arrangements for some definite location. It is depending, however, on the outcome of some deals that we have in the making at the present time. I shall certainly be very glad, if it is at all possible for me to do this, to see you and talk with you concerning your properties, and consider same before making a permanent location. I’m sure if it was possible to have an organization along the lines you suggest, it could be made very profitable. However, I believe the institution that I hope to have will be more of an educational, with the assistance of every means of giving physical relief added to same. I’m certainly trusting that I shall have the opportunity to go over all these things with you in person and I’m very much in hopes that things are a great deal better for you than when you wrote me sometime ago.

Kindly advise us in the space below if you have followed all, or any part, of the suggestions given in your reading of June 27, 1925, and give us in detail the exact results you have obtained:

Mr. [3714] refused to go to an Osteopathic practitioner, but for one treatment. His condition seems changed only so far as his moods are concerned. At times he is rational, but compared to his mental condition of some five years past, he is much worse. He seems filled with acid thoughts, and of everyone in his life-path, I seem to be the most despised person. His dislike of me is too great for me to bear any longer, and I have begun my arrangements to go away, permanently. At least as long as he is alive. My daughter will remain here, and it is better that I go, and he remain, for he couldn’t support himself as he has no education at all. I can always be addressed here. The symptoms given in your diagnosis were everyone correct.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

I am writing to you, because I NEED some help. I want you to try your BEST to get some information for me about my husband’s mental condition. My first husband became insane. I believe my present husband is either near that point…or - something vitally serious is happening to him.

He has little of his natural look. Is bitter…oh, but he is ACID. He seems entirely beyond the point where he can answer to the normal things of life. IS THERE ANYTHING to be done?

Help me…and in return, I will help you if it can be in my power to help. My affairs aren’t in the right shape, and while I can easily repair the damage he has done through mismanagement…and inattention to the business… I find him pitting himself against my every move. I will fall…unless I am allowed to take control. I believe his brain has gone bad… At times he is near to being in a frenzy…at others, he seems mentally dead.

Get me some word at the earliest minute. Things can’t last as they are.
