EC: We have the body here. We have had this before, you see. Now, we find, the conditions a great deal different, at present time from that we had before. The condition is improved throughout the system, those effects as produced to the nerve centers as govern the distribution and assist in the blood flow in the assimilation, are still strengthening. Those along the cardiac region, or those that govern the nerve or muscle about the cardiac end of the stomach, as affecting the conditions through the digestive tract itself, the whole condition through the alimentary canal is improved.
-
Those properties necessary to heal and relieve the lacerations: Keep for the time being, and to prevent recurrence in the system - and there must not be taken into the system those properties that will tend to make a fermentation begin, or to break the tissue again. Follow the lines as given here before, but gradually diminishing the amount and the stimulus and the adjustments from time to time, see. Make all farther and farther away, and let the system rebuild from its own incentives as is being created in the system, see. This will not return.
-
The parts remain weak, as yet, and must be kept up to the same recuperative forces.
-
The water for the condition, the stimulus for the assimilation, the vibration or massage and adjustments for the stimulus for the muscular forces and nerve tissue to keep place for the condition that has been and is being in the body. Do that.
-
(Q) How much longer should she take treatment? (A) As we have given. Skip a time for the medicinal properties and adjustments. Then after two weeks skip twice, until the condition is entirely overcome, which should be in two to three moons, now.

R1. 2/12/23 [3768]‘s letter [via husband]:
Birmingham, Ala.
Mr. Edgar Cayce Atlanta, Ga.
Dear Sir:
Since my last consultation with you at the Tutwiler Hotel, here, about the 10th of January, I have continued taking the prescription recommended by you cutting down the dose somewhat; following the same course as to the Saffron and Elm bark water. On account of slight constipation have been taking at nights powders prescribed by Dr. Carter, who was treating me, previous to my first reading by you. The refilled prescription did not taste exactly as the first - the druggist advising that you advised a slight change.
Now, the “burning” spot has returned in my side and I have several stomach ulcers or “fever blisters” on my lips. As I do not seem to be improving, as outlined above, and as the prescription is about used up, I wish your advice. I would appreciate it very much if you could go over my case again.
Hoping that you are well, I am [3768]

Selma, Ala.
Dear Mrs. [3768]:
Yours of the 12th. Would you make an engagement for another reading, that may go over your case and see if the last properties were prepared correctly, or that any change should be made at this time. Please make it for 5.30 in the afternoon if possible, for that hour suits better.
Thanking you, and hoping that may have the things that will set you right.
Yours very truly, [signed] Edgar Cayce
R3. 8/20/23 Husband’s letter:
Dear Sir,
Mrs. [3768], to whom you gave a reading sometime ago, has been doing very well until quite recently, when her medicine does not appear to be right, and as she hasn’t the original prescription. She fears the druggists are not putting it up correctly. Could you furnish me with a copy of it? Dr.
Cornwell, druggist who is now located at East Lake, has been fixing it up for her recently.
Thanking you in advance for anything you may be able to do for us, I am Yours truly, […]
R4. 9/8/23 EC’s letter to husband:
My dear Mr. […]:
Yours of the 20th was awaiting me here when I came, glad to hear from Mrs. [3768] but certainly sorry to know that she is having trouble again. I believe can furnish a copy of the original reading, and prescription, but don’t you think it would be better that she make an engagement for another reading, and then should there be need for a change, or if they have not been preparing the medicine properly that should come out in that, am prepared to take care of all the cases that might come in now as am establishing a permanent office here. Please have her make an appointment and will see what can get, or if she prefers that I send her copy of the first reading will be glad to have a transcript made for her.
Hoping to be of service,
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce
R5. 9/21/23 EC’s letter to [3768]:
Dear Mrs. [3768]
Enclosed you will find what was gotten at the reading, there must be something wrong with the last quantity made up for you. Show this to Mr. Cromwell [Cornwell?] at Sellers, and see if he got this made right.
Be sure and let me hear when you get started on the next quantity.
With best wishes, Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce
R6. 10/24/23 [3768]‘s letter to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Selma, Ala.
Dear Mr. Cayce
We located the prescription and Dr. Cromwell filled it. I have taken practically all of the prescription and have not had the same results that I had from the first prescription. Dr. Cromwell said he put it up exactly as before, so it may be that I need a change in the prescription. Mr. Cayce I have felt like a different person ever since I started your prescription, and I have weighed more in the past twelve months than I have in years. But for the past two months I feel like I am going back when I was when I first came to you. I can’t even digest milk, eggs or olive oil any more, so I feel like my days are numbered. I would appreciate it so much if you could give me a reading at your earliest convenience. Will wire as soon as I hear from you if you can give me a reading.
Sincerely, Mrs. [3768]
