This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 28th day of July, 1933, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [377], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [365].

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis and L. B. Cayce.]

Time of Reading 3:35 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, N.J. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [377].

  2. Now, as we find, there are some conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body.

  3. These, as we find, in part have been of long standing, and through the impulses that have been created there has been gradually brought about disturbing factors in the better physical functioning of the body.

  4. In times back, or some years ago, the body was well shaken up, by some minor (apparently, at the time) accident. There was the tendency for the producing of a tipping of the stomach itself, and this gradually caused a nervous condition to arise in the system. This being in a manner cared for, the effects rather than the causes were treated.

  5. This has allowed the thickening of tissue, and a pressure to exist that has affected the circulation to the lower extremities - through the pressure from the thickened tissue as it connects or radiates from the lumbar plexus.

  6. Also this has caused an indigestion that has affected, at various times, both the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus. This has at times made a heaviness in the abdominal regions; at others pains across the back of the neck or top of shoulders, with resultant conditions of nausea as of sick headaches at times; with some effects in stomach of condition being not only over acid but lacerations in the pyloric end of stomach, while at other times the apparent effect of a fullness in the gastric end of stomach.

  7. These effects or conditions, as may be seen, are the attempts of the system (futilely at times) to adjust itself to the varied effects as produced by a disturbed nerve and blood circulation. And there is given to the body (now) the heaviness across the small of the back, or opposite the stomach proper, making for that disturbance in the extremities at times as of a tingling sensation - and at others as cold in feet and limbs, sometimes more severe in the one than the other, caused from the position of the thickened tissue in the area of the 12th dorsal center.

  8. As to the other general conditions, the body is very good.

  9. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions, as we would find, there should be adjustments osteopathically; not the general adjustments but more specifically in the dorsal area and lumbar area, as well as in relaxing the body as to make for the correcting of this tilting of the organ itself; and these conditions would disappear, and there would be a better physical reaction throughout.

  10. It would be necessary, to be sure, that such treatments be taken in periods of three to four weeks at a time, and a rest period of almost an equal time; and that a support be worn for the organ itself as corrections are made.

  11. There would be material aid also if the body were to use the Radio-Active Appliance (plain), attaching it for a period of thirty minutes to an hour and a half each day; preferably this should be attached as the body rests AFTER treatment periods, though - to be sure - the adjustments and treatments would not be oftener than twice or three times a week, and the adjustments not oftener than once a week, especially through the first period.

  12. Do these, and - as we find - there will be a much better physical condition with this body, [377].

  13. Ready for questions.

  14. (Q) Should these corrections be made osteopathically? (A) As given.

  15. (Q) Have I any signs of ulcers or cancer of the stomach? (A) There have been periods, as given, when there were some lacerations produced, rather by regurgitation in the pylorus end, and - at other periods, as indicated - a heaviness in the gastric end, or cardiac end. Yet, in the present, as we find, there is not indicated any condition of ulcerous or malignant nature; rather that the long standing condition has produced, and does produce, the inability of PROPER digestion - through inactivity of the gastric forces.

  16. We are through for the present.
