GC: In appreciation of the help that has been given the soul of [378], through this channel, we ask that it be continued and urge him to have faith in his desire for his home. If this condition has reached the point that the entity is not responsible for his physical actions, you will tell us if information may be given those of his family assuming the responsibility as to how to locate him at once.
-
EC: We would follow, as we find, those outlines that have been given, in seeking through those in authority in the various centers; or in that center about which the activity has been and still is. To be sure, further along the way has the body gone physically.
-
As to the aid that may be given to the soul in its reaching through to the conscious mind of the body, we will seek here: (After quite a pause:)
-
Let that purpose in self find fruition in activity, that there will be further communication physically with those that are anxious - and who sorrow at those experiences through which they are compelled to pass at this time. And there will be found that the faith, the hope, the desire will grow, and that there may come definite activities and plans where much can be effaced.
-
Love Truth and Light. Trust in Him that IS Light. Make thine own heart glad. Make thine purpose sure in Him. Let Him have His way with thee, and there will come peace and harmony and understanding in thine troubled heart.
-
Let HIM, thy Master, thy God, thy Christ, have His way with thee. For, while there may be those turmoils at that which is termed a desecration to the body, know that the hearts, the souls of those that recognize the body as the temple of the soul may worship at its altars and not desecrate the temple! For, all to the glory of the Giver of the temple, the Maker of the temple, that worship at the shrines in truth as the evidences of those promises that have come to those that keep their bodies pure that they may be presented holy unto Him that is thine self, in purpose and in truth. For, through thine efforts may yet come JOY in the knowledge that He lives in spirit in the hearts of those that would worship as a brother, as a friend. For, He will walk with thee and talk with thee, wilt thou but open thine inner self to hear His voice!
-
Harken to those promptings - now!
-
We are through.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 4/25/34 Letter from friend [279]: ”…Edgar, I received a phone call last week from [412], and didn’t get a chance to call him back. Today he called again, and told me of [378]‘s mysterious disappearance. To say that I was shocked is putting it mildly. [412] told me you have been giving readings about it, and I certainly hope he turns up again, none the worse for wear. I suppose it is another tragedy of the once-well-to-do being forced into straitened circumstances. It is too bad, and I’m interested to hear more about it…”

R3. 5/1/34 EC’s letter to Mr. [279]:
Yes, we have all indeed been very much perturbed about the [378] situation. This is one of those things that is hard to understand. Of course, in the last few months I have had the opportunity and privilege of being close enough to this man to feel like I had come to know him very well. And then to have such a situation arise seems about as impossible a thing as I have ever experienced. From what they say, we have been able from day to day to give some members of the family some little courage to meet the awful strain under which they are and have been going. They tell us these readings are the sustaining factors during these dark shadowy hours. We can only hope for the best. As to the cause, I do not know. In fact, I know very little about the circumstances that surrounded it, except in a general way. It may be, as you say, one of those things that is sometimes not able to be stood by those who have been in a position of affluence, and to have it swept away is more than they can stand. The readings are given wholly from the mental and spiritual angle, as we have been told not to use these channels for forcing a person against his will to return - or to override another’s desire; that it would be like sharpening a pencil with a razor, not using the sources as they were intended. We can only do our best. But even in a case like this where the man means so much to us, we are helpless. A man’s will is supreme.
