This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 10th day of May, 1937, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [379], Active Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., through telephone request of Mrs. [303] and Miss [307].

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno.]

Time of Reading 11:40 to 11:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va. (Physical Suggestion)

  1. EC: Yes.

  2. As we find, conditions are much improved.

  3. We would have today, again, not only the Oil Packs across the gall duct and lacteal duct and caecum area, but we would have the enemas with the salt and the soda to cleanse the colon.

  4. The better eliminant, as we find now, would be the small doses of the Eno Salts taken of a morning for several days, or until there is no more of the eliminations which show stringy, clotted refuse forces from the activities in areas where the congestion has existed.

  5. It will require as much quiet as possible until the soreness is removed, or until the recuperative forces are able in the circulation to supply the coagulations in the distressed areas.

  6. The diet should include these:

  7. Cereals OR citrus fruit juices. Coddled eggs or those cooked only in a little water, or broken in containers where only a little butter may be used and no water. Broths of vegetables, or vegetable juices and meat juices. White potatoes mashed, with butter, salt and pepper. Whole wheat bread or rye bread, these are preferable; the white bread provided it is not that made with yeast. The vegetables should be preferably of the pod nature; beans, peas, lentils or the like. Blanc mange, arrowroot, junket or the like. The meats should be only fowl, not fried but roasted or cooked in the oven. These as we find, with the proper precautions, should make for soon recuperation.

  8. Drink plenty of water at all times to keep not only the alimentary canal but the kidneys flushed.

  9. Ready for questions.

  10. (Q) Is the gall duct area cleared up? (A) Not cleared entirely, but it is relieved and - as has been indicated - there should be the flushing of same, not only with the properties indicated but the allowing of rest, the flushing with water, the using of the packs and the enemas.

In taking the enemas, not so much the high enemas but body-temperature water that cleanses the colon; and even though there is only very little or no reaction, the enemas will help with these properties given.

  1. (Q) Have we failed in any way in making applications as suggested in last Reading? (A) These as we find have been very good - as is indicated from the reaction, the lack of temperature, near to normal circulation, and near to the respiration and the general activity.

  2. (Q) Does the information mean that I should always abstain from acetic acid foods? (A) These are only temporary; this is more where vinegars or the highly seasoned foods form a reaction. As has been indicated so often, it is combinations rather than any one particular condition.

  3. (Q) Please state specific acetic acid foods from which I should abstain? (A) Vinegar in any form, or those combinations that form same.

  4. (Q) Should I continue the application of the Packs and Laudanum-Aconite? (A) Laudanum and Aconite and the Oil the better in the present, as has just been indicated.

  5. (Q) How long should I keep these up? (A) Only until, as has been given, there are no more sedimentary conditions of the nature from the stools.

  6. (Q) Please give any other advice the body needs. (A) As indicated, the precautions, the not overanxiety but keeping in constructive attitude and action. Don’t overtax self. These are the better precautions.

  7. We are through for the present.
