GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here.
-
As we find there are disturbances that bring disorders through the body. The manifestation of a broken cell in the superficial circulation, as here on the shoulder and the fatty tumor, would respond better to operative measures; provided after this has been removed there is sufficient of the x-ray treatment.
-
Do not use radium upon this particular condition but the x-ray. Some six treatments should be sufficient. These conditions will respond and the rest, the general activity through the period of hospitalization - unless other disturbances arise - should bring better conditions for this body; and we would have many years of useful activity.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) What kind of anesthetic should be used? (A) This should be best determined by those who perform the operative measures. As we find a local anesthetic should be sufficient and more efficient for this particular condition.
-
(Q) Should I continue the present treatments as, Calcium pantothenate and vitamin B complex? (A) These should be discontinued through the period of the hospitalization, but the general building up afterwards would include some of these. As we find, Calcios and Acigest would be well to be used instead of these that have been taken.
-
(Q) Please suggest food and vitamins that will clarify vision. (A) The rest will have more effect upon the clarifying of the vision, as will the x-ray treatments for these conditions, than particular foods at the present time. Later if more raw vegetables are added, especially carrots and every form of tuberous vegetables, these will aid better in bringing better conditions for the body.
-
(Q) Would psycho-analysis help the physical condition? (A) This has little to do with this particular condition. Do as indicated. Prepare the body. Have the operative forces. On the fourth, fifth or sixth day begin the x-ray treatments; not too close together and not too long at a time.

We are through with this reading.

R1. 3/29/44 [3803]‘s ltr. to EC:
Dear Mr. Cayce:-
Thank you so very much for my reading which was received three days following the 23rd, the date reading was given. I feel that the reading covered every point necessary and that it was most satisfactory. I shall proceed to follow directions and have ordered the two health foods (or rather supplementary foods) which were suggested.
R2. 4/8/44 EC’s ltr. to [3803]:
Mrs. [3803] …, Calif.
Dear Mrs. [3803]:-
Thanks a lot for your letter of the 29th.
I appreciate your interest and am glad to know that you felt the information was rather thorough. I believe as you go about making the application of the suggestions indicated, you will find that it is in keeping with the conditions, and as most everyone has stated through the years, you will get results. That of course is the thing we all work for.
I appreciate the other members of the family letting us hear from them. I trust we may be the means of a service to them.
Thanking you and with every good wish, I remain
Sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC/gm

B1. 1/13/44 [3803]‘s ltr. to EC:
Mr. Edgar Cayce Virginia Beach, Virginia
Dear Sir:-
I have just finished reading Mr. Sugrue’s splendid book and am being bold enough to write for a request for a reading.
For several years I have had a fatty tumor sort of thing on my back near the left shoulder. There is no pain or disturbance of any kind. It is merely an ugly fat blob that I could so nicely get along without. There are other physical disturbances, from the book I judge I need not go into details.
The enclosed check is merely a gesture of good faith until such times as I may hear from you as to whether now you have a specific charge. Or do I sign something. I shall be glad to do so or to send you an additional check.
Most Sincerely yours, Mrs. [3803]
SELF ADDRESSED AIR-MAIL ENVELOPE
B2. 2/11/44 [3803]‘s letter: Thank you for your literature. Eventually I shall have all three readings but because of the urgency I am seizing this first moment to rush the enclosed for a PHYSICAL. I am advised FOR and AGAINST an operation for a fatty growth on shoulder and shall do nothing until I receive the Edgar Cayce reading - blank & check enclosed. Thank you. Mrs. [3803]
