This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 9th day of September, 1936, in accordance with request made by the niece, Mrs. [623], active member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [3824]. Waited most too long for any permanent or for any definite cure. Acute conditions as we find have arisen from a long standing disturbance of not only the respiratory system but of the activities of segregations in the system from poisons and accumulations; and under the distresses the existent conditions have arisen.

2. As we find, the best to give relief in the immediate would be to use a spray for the throat, for the nasal passages, to overcome the disturbances for the congestions that arise from the disturbance. Combine same in this manner:

3. To 1/2 ounce 85% Pure Grain Alcohol, add - in the order as given, for the better effect:

Distilled Water…1/2 ounce, Oil of Eucalyptus…2 minims.

Put together:

Rectified Oil of Turp…1 minim, and Compound Tincture of Benzoin…3 minims, then add these to the solution.

Use this as a spray about every two or three hours.

4. Then we would find that later the use of the Wet Cell Appliance would be the more helpful, if the body responds sufficient for the opportunity for the application of those things in the Gold as one solution and the 10% Nitrate of Silver in a separate solution. These we would give then in the present: First the spray; the Animated Ash one-eighth grain with the ultra-violet ray five to ten minutes after, applied for a minute to a minute and a half across the lower portion of the lungs from the back, so that it may apply to the digestive system or the activities of same as to release oxygen for the body.

5. If the body responds, then apply those others - the Gold solution would be two grains to an ounce of distilled water. The application of same would be, or the small copper plate first to the 9th dorsal and the Gold solution plate over the lacteal duct; while the Nitrate of Silver solution - the first plate would be to the plexus from which the vagus center obtains its impulse, or the 3rd and 4th dorsal, while the solution plate would be to the 4th lumbar plexus - carrying, with the plate NOT carrying the Silver solution.

7. (Q) Use the Ash each day? (A) Each day. Empty dry on tongue and was down with a little water. Do not take IN capsule. The spray would be given every three to four hours.

Keep the diet and the attention as has been indicated.

Then after three to five days, if the body responds, make those other applications.

8. (Q) How long should the Wet Cell Appliance be attached at a time? (A) Thirty minutes each day, alternating solutions.

Gentlemen:-

For Mr. [3824], … Rest Home, … Ave., …, Ohio (through his niece, Mrs. [623] …, Ohio), we have suggested the use of a Wet Cell Appliance as follows:

“If the body responds, in three to five days we would begin with the use of the Wet Cell Appliance carrying the Gold as one solution and the 10% Nitrate of Silver in a separate solution. The attachments would be made in this manner:

“The first day, the small copper plate would be attached first, to the 9th dorsal, while the larger nickel plate - passing through the Gold solution (two grains Chloride of Gold to one ounce of distilled water - that proportion) - would be attached last, to the lacteal duct, or the umbilicus plexus.

“The next day the first plate would be attached to the 4th lumbar (the small copper plate), while the other - passing through the 10% Nitrate of Silver solution - would be attached last, to the plexus from which the vagus center obtains its impulse, or the 3rd and 4th dorsal.

“Thirty minutes each day, alternating solutions.”

R2. 9/21/36 Niece [623]‘s letter: “We were too late - he passed on at 4:20 Monday morning, just a week ago [9/14/36]. One side of his head opened up, the sore on his tongue got better and his mouth stayed nice and clean to the very last. He had been in a hospital three months previous, having had a carbuncle removed from the back of his head and neck, also an abscess lanced. I had felt the hospital would not cooperate [with the suggestions made in the reading] and he had to be there for the surgical care… He suffered lots of pain, as he had abscesses from head to foot; they did not come open but seemed to go down and the pain located in the bowels, and in two days he was gone. We used one capsule of the Ash and the light on Sat. morning; by Sunday you could see it was too late - to swallow.”

Dear Mrs. [623]:

Have yours of 21st, sorry indeed to hear of your Uncle’s passing. Felt sure tho from what was told me after the reading that we had waited too late. But he no doubt is free from worldly suffering as we know it, and is just as conscious now as ever, has only gone through God’s other door of consciousness and lives on and on, and will some day come back again to this earth for another lesson, for if we would be like HIM who is our author and finisher of faith that must be the process, even as He.
