EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3836]. Now as we find, while the body very good in many respects throughout the physical functioning, there are conditions as disturb the better equilibrium of the system, causing or producing disturbances of the physical functioning. These as we find affect the assimilating system, as well as the functioning of the organs throughout the system. In making corrections at the present, this might easily be done, now with the present accumulation of distresses, and the system attempting to adjust itself to the disorders must eventually produce great disturbances unless corrected. These then as we find them with this body, [3836], we are speaking of, present in this room.
-
First in the blood supply, this very good in many respects, but that there is the lack of elimination to produce the proper functioning in all portions of the system is evidenced by the lack of those that make for absorption through the system to the elimination of the body. Hence, disturbances in that portion, the circulation becoming too deep-seated, then it continues to be a very poor circulation between the upper and the lower hepatic circulation, producing at such time an over-taxation to the nerve forces, as related to the organs of the pelvis, and the headaches as occur there and the upsetting of the digestive system, these are many indications and effects, no causes.
-
In the nervous system, here we find much that is inductive and deductive conditions that is much that produces a condition in the responses or reactions in the system. With the correction of many of the centers where impulse to function of the organs, and to circulation and to the activity of various forces as bring about assimilation and elimination will aid in making the correction for the system. The specific centers as involved in those producing condition and those in the lower lumbar and cervical area as affect organs of the lower digestion, as well as those in the pelvic area, disturbing the system as through the elimination or reflexly, and produces an effect, are those in the cervical and upper dorsal area. These effects rather those that prevent the reactions a normal natural through the production of the proper inflow to the digestive system, hence there becomes periods when those reactions the nerve system give much of a hydrochloric influence to the duodenum and stomach that makes for the disturbances that as indicated by the inability of the system to carry those absorption from the system from used disturbed. Hence the effect of improper coagulation and strain on the activity of the lymph and emunctory circulation.
-
In the function of the organs themselves bring forces very good functioning of the sensory system good. Throat shows for the disturbance in the circulation, but no organic disorder, only temporary heart’s internal over-exertion. Digestive show for affects for those conditions from exterior activities that makes for the lack of proper assimilation to relieve the effects of strain to produce adhesions, caused by the operative forces that made for the activity in the system to become as scar tissue in the duodenum, as we find the effect of hydrochloric or assimilation that affects the hepatic that caused from those conditions that, as in the pelvis or lumbar, produces slow circulation then it should be at a time that makes for the kidneys and bladder influence there must the entire disorder arise, in lower digestive and the pelvic organ those of congestion and improper impulses that arise from pressure disorders that make for pelvis area. Taken in consideration that that is in the upper cervical and dorsal.
-
Deep osteopathic, two a week, every third treatment an adjustment, then deep manipulation. Internally: First day would be that of a tablespoon milk of magnesia, as an elimination and as a sweetener of the acidity of the duodenum. Second day, take a tablespoon of milk of bismuth, in this take five to ten drops of lactated pepsin. Third day, a rest day, followed by that of a wafer of phenalax, there is sufficient of pheno-pheline [phenolphthalein?] to present the congestion of the elimination in the colon. This then by rest for three days and repeat the treatment using occasional glyco - thylomile glyco-thymoline?] in water as an intestinal antiseptic. With those manipulations and cleanser of the system will remove most of the pressure.
-
(Q) What causes the weakness of the heart and the seeming skip of beats, etc.? (A) The pressure as is produced in the ascending and upper of the travers [transverse?] colon that makes for pressure in this area. Correct the sympathetic plexus in the upper dorsal area, cleansing of the system and these pressures will be removed.
-
(Q) Is there irritation or infection of the tubes, etc.? (A) A congestion as indicated by the pressure in the lumbar cerebral [sacral?], area with the stimulation of the circulation both of nerve and blood through the position of the system with the excess of elimination of poisons from the system.
-
(Q) Should body continue taking capsules? (A) After these have been begun, the treatments as outlined these will not be necessary.
-
(Q) Why irregularity of menstrual periods? (A) In the congestion in the pelvic organs as indicated by the pressure from the nerve system, with manipulation as has been given every third treatment an adjustment and the following two treatments deep manipulation, this will be corrected.
-
(Q) What can body take to quiet nerves and overcome sleeplessness? (A) By removing of the poisons from the system, and from improper eliminations, these will allow the return of normal activity and the rest will be a normal rest from the activities of the system; so that those of sedatives will not be necessary for your normal condition.
-
(Q) What diet should body take? (A) In the morning, fruit juices, hot or dry cereal, but do not mix them as they will cause acidity. Honey is very good, also cakes such as wheat cakes and buckwheat cakes.
Noon: Green vegetables in the form of salad with those of meat juices and that of broths.
Night: A greater amount of vegetables, and the meats that will aid in the strength of the vitality.
-
(Q) What exercises…? (A) After the first period has passed with the treatments, those exercises of the lower portion of the body as walking and bending, that is from the hips.
-
(Q) Horseback riding? (A) This is excellent.
-
(Q) Anything else? (A) Do these as we have outlined. We will find three to four periods of taking of the eliminations and from 18 to 20 treatments of the manipulations and we would regard a normal body. In the correction of the pelvic area, the tubes and the womb itself, we will find that this to be clarified would be for an excellent, normal health and vitality.
-
We are through.

R1. 11/14/32 EC’s ltr. to [3836]:
Dear Mrs. [3836]
I was very sorry I didn’t get to talk somewhat at length with you after the information was given. I hope the stenographer got it down in such a manner that it is wholly understood by you as to what you are to do to get the desired results, through application of the suggestions made. Of course, the information may or may not have been quite interesting. The real interesting fact to you will be to get the promised relief from conditions that have disturbed you, by following the suggestions. This is one of the cases, I think, where substitutes do not fill the place. It is necessary that you follow rather closely, systematically and conscientiously, directions given. I hope and believe, from what I was told, it will not be hard for you to do this. Then, after you have had these treatments and have followed out the suggestions for say four or five weeks, or something like that, it would be well for you to make a list of questions concerning just how you feel at that time, and let the reading tell you what the actual condition is at that time. This has proved through the years past to be the most satisfactory way to get absolute results from such information.
It was indeed quite a privilege to talk with you. I didn’t get to talk at any length with Mr. […] but hope you will find him at least sympathetically inclined to the directions, so much so that he will insist and help you to carry out the suggestions made.
Remember, you met for the moment a Mr. Ladd to whom you were introduced. He asked for your address, that he and his wife might talk with you further, if you so desire. It is sometimes quite helpful to know there is someone near at hand who has in their own experience gotten wonderful results from following the suggestions given, as Mrs. Ladd has, and Mr. Ladd in more of a mental and material way. Should you hear from them, I hope you will be inclined to at least let them tell you their experience, if you are interested. Of course, if not, why that’s alright.
Hoping you will let us hear from you occasionally, and with kindest personal regards to you and yours, I am
Sincerely, EC:GD
R2. 11/28/32 EC’s ltr. to Mr. Ladd:
I hope your contact with Mr. Kahn and Mr. […] will enable you and Mrs. Ladd to be of much help to Mrs. [3836]. She certainly needs a friend at this time, though - as no doubt you both have already sensed - she is very suspicious of everyone, produced I suppose by some misplaced confidence somewhere. I say this only for your enlightenment, to be sure. Remember, I had some several hours conversation with her before we gave the reading.
Thank you again and again, Mr. Ladd, for your letters; I trust this finds you all feeling the very best. I’m glad to say that we are all very well here. We have had and are having quite a bad spell of weather for the Beach at this time of year, but at the present we are all fairly comfortable.
With love to you both from all here, I am
Ever the same, EC:GD
