- EC: Now, we find there are changes in this body since last we had it here. While those centers that supply the sensory organism have not worked through, or the tentacles of centers in elimination as produced by the sympathetic nerve system, and which had been hindered by the holding of thought and condition in the body as transmitted to same; still the condition in the system is bettered, and we find that the centers are more thoroughly equalized in pressure, and that by the creating of the correct vibration in the system the nerve centers that give the vocal organs their functioning normal, and the auditory or ear forces may be, and can be, carried to the perfect vibration and connection by keeping that vibration. This has not been proper in the system as heretofore. We would now, with the present condition, prepare this, in this manner and form. To one and one-half gallons of rain water, add:
Heavy Sea Salt…1 pound, Plain Charcoal…1 pound, Copper Sulphate…1 1/2 pounds, Sulfuric Acid C.P…1 1/2 ounces, Zinc, ordinary, common…11 drams.
- This we find will charge the solution, but the solution for the treatment of the body should be charged with electrical voltage, high voltage, low amperage, 120 volts, or 110 volts either, depending on direct or alternating, with 30 cycles, 4 amperes, until the discharge from this solution is at least 5 1/2 ohms, or charge the solution with this charge, this voltage, this amperage, for 30 minutes while being charged and while in use. There should be a one pound opaque container of iodine suspended or in the solution. The poles shall be one of copper, the other of nickel and silver. To these poles there would be attached two small wires, preferably insulated copper wires. To the ends of these wires attach plates. To the positive a small copper plate, to the opposite pole the large silver plate, very thin. The positive will be attached to the first and second cervical, the negative to the umbilicus, for thirty minutes each evening. Remove poles from solution when not in use, but have them in solution for at least thirty minutes before charge is given the body. Then let the neuropathic forces be accorded the system in such a manner as to dilate the blood supply from the lower and upper cervical region, direct to the auditory and vocal organs. Do that. In this manner we will find we will bring the normal forces to this body.

Dear Mrs. […]
Yours received, and enclosed you will find a copy of what was gotten. I gather from this that the battery has not been made right, neither has the Neuropathic treatment been accorded properly with vibration. Perhaps when you have the battery right the other will be better, the treatments.
Now, I am going to make a suggestion to you […] that is, that you or Mr. […] go and see Mr. Wyrick at the Western Union Bldg. and get him to help you have this battery prepared for your baby. I know he is interested and will be glad to see that this is prepared for you in the right way. You will find him at 427 So. LaSalle, room 308, ask for Mr. Wyrick. He is Supt. there, and show him the reading. He will tell you of some real cures he has seen there in and among his men.
Thanking you and trusting you will let me hear from you as often as you deem it necessary, and be sure we are just as much interested in seeing the baby get perfectly normal as any one possibly could be. I sincerely believe he will if you carry this out.
With kindest personal regards to you and Mr. […].
Sincerely, [signed] Edgar Cayce

Dear Dr. Cayce,
This is to inform you that it took us quite a while before we got in touch with Mr. Wyrick of the W. T. Co. I wish to thank you for the introduction, as he treated me royally and he saw that I had the battery made according to your instructions. Now I am convinced more than ever that the battery before, was not made right. We are using it again with full confidence that we are living up to every letter of your prescription as far as the battery is concerned.
As for the neuropath, we just have to depend on fate whether we are getting the right man, as we mentioned before, there are no particular neuropaths every osteopath undertakes to do neuropathic work. This osteopath is doing the work according to your reading.
While we have faith in the Almighty and in your work, so far we have not observed any results. However, after two to four weeks trial, we will ask you to give us another reading.
We understand that it takes funds to maintain any kind of work, and we will help your cause along as much and more than our ability will permit.
Thanking you for the interest you take in our child, I am.
Sincerely yours, Mrs. […]
R3. 7/7/24 EC’s ltr. to [3854]‘s mother:
Mrs. […] Chicago, Ill.
My dear Mrs. […]
I have yours of the 4th, for which I thank you very much.
Somehow, I guess we all find ourselves more interested in some people and conditions we meet than in others, and cannot, to save our lives, tell the reason why. I have felt that way regarding your little girl [3856] ever since you first came in to see me. For one reason, I suppose, I believe that you were so in earnest, yet you were seeking into something that you felt was the most questionable thing you had ever heard, and you groped about for quite a while trying to find the least tangible thing that would make you believe in the possibility of something that you really wanted to believe in. Then, when Mr. […] came to see me again here, I felt how deeply in earnest he was, yet you could never just get hold of the thing that it even seemed worth trying to you. I am sure, however, in meeting Mr. Wyrick you have come in touch with one who had the greatest reason perhaps in the world to know the truth of the possibilities that may be found in the work I have been doing, and one who knows that the minutest detail of instruction has to be carried out to get the results desired. I am certainly glad indeed that you went to see him and that you were pleased with his endeavors to assist you in getting this battery made correctly. Don’t forget that these have to be renewed from time to time to get the best results. That is, they have to have a new solution and be recharged, keeping of course the bars and connections.
Now, one other thing. You say it’s impossible to get the neuropath there. I have no idea, as you have not stated, as to who the Doctor is that is giving the other treatment. I’m not questioning their ability, nor their desire, to follow the instructions as given exactly, but I’m wondering if they have got the correct attitude or are simply doing their work mechanically. There are two Doctors in Chicago, I have not more than met them casually, but I know of them through some personal friends of mine. Now, these are not the people who have treated Mr. Wyrick, but they are some of his acquaintances, and I would like very much for you to call Mr. Wyrick, make an engagement, and talk to him regarding these people taking the case and following out the instructions explicitly.
Again thanking you for your letter, and assuring you of my interest and desire to be of help, if possible, to your child, I am
Sincerely yours, Edgar Cayce

Chicago
Dear Dr. Cayce,
There has been quite a stretch of time since we had the new battery made, and followed up your instructions to the letter, and it pains me to inform you as far as I can see there are absolutely no changes.
If you think there may be other suggestions in another reading please advise me.
Awaiting your reply at an early date. I am.
Sincerely yours, Mrs. […]
R5. 9/23/24 EC’s ltr. to [3854]‘s mother:
Mrs. […] Chicago, Ill.
My dear Mrs. […]
I have yours of the 19th. I’m sorry to note that so far you fail to find any change for the better in the young man’s condition. I shall be very glad to undertake another engagement for you. We’re arranging to take care of this Wednesday the 1st at 3:00 P. M.
You will please let me know if this day and hour is satisfactory. We have had so many people there in Chicago that have gotten results, I cannot understand just why you haven’t gotten the results as promised in the many readings we have had. I certainly hope that I can yet prove of service and assistance in the little fellow’s condition.
With kindest personal regards to you and Mr. […], trusting that you will let me hear from you in time for this, I am
Yours sincerely, Edgar Cayce EC:GD
