This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 18th day of August, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - [3885].

Time of Reading … Side, 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find there are abnormal conditions. Some that would be abnormal to other bodies have become normal to this; though, had these been taken in time, and in the correct way and manner, these might have been eliminated from the system.

4. These, then, are the conditions as may be corrected, and that as is producing them in the body at the present time. First:

5. IN THE BLOOD STREAM, this we find shows the effect of conditions as are in an abnormal condition, through which the blood stream flows, and is not giving off nor taking on that as is dross from portions through which the circulation is carried.

6. In the beginning of the present conditions, these we find were produced in part from that as was brought on in times back, yet have become separated from the condition by that as has been applied to the body through medicinal properties, yet not eliminating those conditions from the system in such a way and manner as to rid the system of the conditions.

7. In the glands as are seen, then, that are involved, that may be relieved, those as are of the ductless glands, especially those in the thyroid region, as well as those in the central portion of body, that cause, with the combination of this condition, that as is seen in the functioning of the system through the mesenteric system.

8. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find that the body is very good, in the cerebrospinal, yet in sympathetic system, this very bad, for, with the variations as have come to the body, we find this at times is as but naught - that is, the exhaustion to the system, through the strain on the mental, and on the worries of the body, brings much to the body in the way of this nerve exhaustion. Same is seen, especially, through that as of the condition produced in the lungs, in the digestion, for, WITH the glandular trouble, the condition brings distresses in many portions, preventing assimilation in the system, and from the undue katabolism as was produced in times back, this gives the rise to those conditions as are seen exhibited in the capillary circulation. The body is not always in this low state, yet it re-occurs from time to time.

9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, (that is, those not involved in the condition). These all show the strain under which the body labors, but being in that position, as it were, of invalided in various portions of system, with the rest near normal, save as influenced by abnormalities in gland, this we find brings the various conditions to the body.

10. With the subnormal condition in nerve of the sympathetic, brain forces’ function exceedingly GOOD.

11. Those of the throat, bronchials, lungs, larynx - the throat condition, as is seen, is as of that from the thyroid. Those as of the lung sympathetic. Those conditions as of the digestive system, both sympathetic and of the organic nature.

12. The better condition, then, to bring the relief to this body under the present state, and for those that may be relieved, would be to apply those properties to the body as will be found in the Radio-Active Appliance, using the iron and the silver, see? Those both should be in the weak solution (the 10% solution), and in the way and manner as will bring the vibration to the system to ELIMINATE these portions of the condition in the body. After this has been used with the silver for two to three weeks, we would leave off silver solution and use the iodine solution in its stead, continuing with the iron solution - that is, one day use the silver solution, one day use the iron solution, see? After the two weeks, leaving off the silver solution, begin using the iodine solution in the anode or applicator, and the negative should be to the umbilicus. Do that.

13. After these have been used for five to six weeks, then we would give the changes as will be seen that will bring about the better conditions for this body. Do this at this time, [3885]. We are through for the present.

R1. 8/28/26 Letter: “I found it quite interesting, but you failed to touch on ANY of the things I was hoping to hear. I have had ‘head noises’ for the past eight years, very much worse in my left ear, with a slight deafness, as a result, in the left ear. The specialist said this was a catarrhal condition, which I presume is true, for during the winter months, if exposed to the cold, I suffer BADLY with the bones of my face, which leads me to think there must be some sinus trouble.

“I have some stomach, or liver trouble, which you speak of in a general way. The M.D.’s all agree that this is gallstones, but I do not agree with them, because the suffering always comes on after eating, and I cannot believe it is other than a likeness to acute indigestion, though the pain is always in the region of the gall duct.

“I also have varicose veins, which fact I have never brought to the attention of the different physicians who have attended me at various times. They are not badly ruptured on the outside, but I have the idea that they are ruptured on the INSIDE. They have been this way since I was quite a young girl. I suspect I should have had them seen to long ago.

“There seems to be a slight discrepancy in your reading. You speak of conditions that were produced in the BLOOD SUPPLY from lack of katabolism in the system, in times back, and then again in the NERVE SYSTEM you speak of an UNDUE katabolism as was produced, IN TIMES BACK. The UNDUE, and the LACK both being in times back. Now I couldn’t have a minus, and a plus, of the same thing, in times back, could I?

“Of course if I go ahead with this treatment, as outlined by you, I shall want to understand what is expected. Should I NOT receive any beneficial results, should you have a fee? I desire that you answer me candidly so that I may know just what I should do.

“I have a confession that will probably interest you. My name is Mrs. […] I gave you my maiden name, because we talked to a man who was quite well acquainted with you, and I feared he might make known my condition to you, as told to him. This, of course I did not want to happen, for it would spoil all my faith, and besides, I really AM […] with the addition of another name.”

R2. 9/16/26 EC wrote her he thought the reading would have been clearer to her if she had been honest with herself in making the first request. He urged her to follow the treatment for 6-8 weeks and then let him give another reading (she contributing to the work according to her own conscience).

R3. 9/20/26 She wrote she had enquired about the Radio-Active Appliance from Thomas B. Brown of the Brookins Mfg. Co., Dayton, O., to whom we had referred her, and found they had no literature, only making them up by hand, and: “I cannot help but wonder if there is no element of danger in this appliance. It seems to be a perfectly new thing, or at least a new name.”

R4. 11/2/26 Letter: “In reply to yours [form letter] asking for help for your hospital, I have this to say: “Had I received proper attention, and any degree of health help, from your reading, I certainly intended to, from time to time, remember you with my mite, and while it would not be great in amount, I would be grateful for the benefit received, and would not forget.

“I ordered the three solutions as advised by Mr. Brown, he changing the solution of Silver from an alcoholic one to a distilled water solution, AFTER I had written him that our druggists informed me that an alcohol solution could not be made, because the silver was not soluble in alcohol.

“I felt that Mr. Brown had no real knowledge about the matter, and after your letter, in reply to my inquiry about the solutions, I found that EVEN YOU did not know anything definite about them, and you stated that you would soon give a reading on them, and would let me know. All this proved to me that others had NOT tried it and been benefitted, or both you and Mr. Brown would have known exactly what to have advised.

“I used the silver solution ONE HOUR. Mr. Brown’s advice was, from one to two hours, and to wipe the wire off each time after using. After the hour’s use, I found the wire almost eaten in two. THAT didn’t look much like using it SIX WEEKS, or even the THIRTY DAYS TRIAL. Another treatment and the wire would have been gone. I was so nervous that the first thing I did the next morning was to send it back to Mr. Brown. He returned my $20.00 and wrote a very nice letter, which caused me to feel kindly instead of offended. I had made up my mind that I was going to receive help from the treatments, but taking the whole thing together, I have not the faith that I had in the beginning. However, if there is anything in these readings my very best wishes are for you, and your patients.”
