1. EC: We have many conditions in this body here, [3894] we are speaking of, that at the present time are abnormal. Although at times there are no abnormal conditions. These are conditions that are produced by the binding of a nerve center, whereby in the attempt of the system to establish an equilibrium of the whole system, it turns to the brain as a control through the incentive or white nerve tissue, coming to such an active condition without the receptive force to be carried to the rest of the body, and which produces a spasmodic condition to the brain which throws the whole mental force of the body out of balance. It refuses then to function through the sensory organism. The body remains normal, save when the muscular forces over the body begin to react. Then the body does not know for the time being just what it is doing, because there is no receptive force to receive those messages carried to the brain.

2. This, as we will find, is produced in the 6th lumbar vertebra, just at the last lumbar vertebra where it joins to the end of the spinal column, through the brush end of the cerebrospinal force, carrying to the sympathetic nerves through the lumbar and through the solar plexus centers, and again at the secondary cervical plexus. These are affected by the spasmodic conditions which are produced in the body. After the body has gained an equilibrium through nature to take care of this, which is the action of the nerves and blood reacting from the brain, the body again comes to a normal condition. This condition is growing more frequent than they have been.

3. If we would remove this condition from the body, we would take into the body this: calcium chloride, or plain salt, added to bicarbonate of soda, three grains each every morning. Then we would have the lesion formed in the lumbars removed by manipulation, also the relaxation of the centers along the spine and the lumbars, the solar plexus, secondary cardiac cervical plexus and the first cervical, second, third and fourth dorsal, the fifth and sixth lumbar, then the resetting of the vertebra will begin here through the dorsals.

R1. 11/19/32 Mrs. [2457]‘s letter: “Have been upset this week my good friends [[3894]‘s parents] lost their other boy, age 24. He took his M.A. degree this year at … Was very ill for three weeks with meningitis - he fought the grim reaper but the latter won, last Wednesday. Dr. Marcus Skinner put Mrs. […] [the mother] to bed. She has a very bad form of heart trouble - came near losing her mind when her first boy [3894] died. He [3894] is the one Dr. Lee Jones gave a shot, and the boy walked home, then in front of our church, got in the door and dropped dead. I think he had some sort of spells, but to lose both in young manhood it is terrible, but it could be worse - to have them afflicted and living. [GD’s note: Mrs. [2457]‘s sister [5684] was a mental case.] My heart grieves for them.”

R2. 12/1/32 EC’s letter to Mrs. [2457]: “I wonder if the […] family is the same as the boy who used to be in the S.S. class at the church. One of them had a reading some years ago. For sometime afterwards the reports were that he improved a great deal. I certainly feel sorry for anyone with a trouble of this kind, yet I often wonder if a living trouble isn’t much more serious to that element within the human breast that makes for a strain on the very soul.”
