-
GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [3905].
-
Now as we find there are disturbing conditions that prevent the normal reflexes in the physical, the mental and the spiritual body.
-
In considering that which may be helpful for this body, we find that the physical body, the mental body and the spiritual body must be taken into consideration; and not applications made that would permanently make a dissociation of the oneness of the entity’s purposes in the earth.
-
For here we have a body and a mind that may be made, or may come to be a contributing factor to the betterment not only of a home, a community, a state, but a contributing factor to the material, the spiritual and mental welfare of many.
-
Thus we find a body well endowed with faculties and yet in the present on the verge of a disintegration of the unity of purpose.
-
There are pathological conditions and psychological conditions.
-
We find that it will be well to give the entity - now MIND, the ENTITY, the shocks with overdoses, even of Insulin; to cause reflexes in the brain reaction to the emotions of the body.
-
But when these have been given it will be well to coordinate these by the osteopathic correction of subluxations existing in the body-forces.
-
At the time of birth there was a pressure brought about in the areas of the coccyx and the lower end of the spine that makes, even yet, a dissociation in that area of the coccyx and the end of the cerebrospinal nerve segments.
-
Correct these.
-
Give the shocks first, yes; else the body-mind will not be controlled in relation to these. Then make the coordination in the coccyx with the lumbar axis, the 9th dorsal, the 3rd cervical and the 1st cervical.
-
Thus we will bring near to normal reactions for this body.
-
Don’t give so many of the shocks as to upset the pancrean reaction entirely.
-
As to the number of these that should be given before beginning the osteopathic corrections, this should be determined by the response. For remember, as indicated, the physical, the mental and the spiritual body should be considered in making the applications. Consider it as an entity, not merely as a physical body.
-
For the body has a mind, a soul and a physical body; they war one with another oft because of this dissociation, or this open end of the spine which came at birth.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Has the environment been a factor in bringing about this condition? (A) Every phase might be a factor but this is the pathological condition. The others are the result of the attempt of the association of physical and mental reactions in body-forces.
-
(Q) How can the environment be made more desirable for her better development? (A) This will change entirely. It will not be the same in reaction when these changes are brought about.
Do that.
-
(Q) Please suggest foods to be stressed, and foods to be avoided in the diet. (A) There should be a well balanced diet for this body when these changes have been wrought. Even an x-ray will show this dissociation indicated.
-
(Q) Any mental and spiritual advice? (A) We would prefer a life experience (as in a Life Reading) with the mental and spiritual advice when corrections have been made and the body herself seeks same.
-
(Q) Who should make the corrections? (A) Such as Coulter.
-
We are through with this reading.

Reports & Follow-up
R1. 12/60 Notes on EPILEPSY cases from the Edgar Cayce records Made by Walter N. Pahnke, M.D.:
July, 1960 at A.R.E., Virginia Beach, Virginia. The following notes were taken on cases as read and are merely the opinion of the abstractor at the time he read the case plus the correspondence. The main value of these notes is that they give some indication of what the exact diagnosis in each case may or may not be.
Case [3905]. Given in 1944. 20 year old female. This case was classified in group 3. From the description of the diagnosis it sounds more like psycho-neurotic temper tantrums than epilepsy. Patient was an inmate in a psychiatric hospital. There were no follow-up reports.

Background
B1. 11/5/43 Mother’s letter: “[3905] is emotionally very unstable. Sometimes when in a highly nervous state she trembles all over and momentarily loses the power of locomotion. At times she has temper tantrums or violent rages during which she is apt to become destructive and break objects, strike and kick and tear up her clothes and to give way to loud and prolonged screaming. She has at various times threatened self destruction. At times her conduct seems wholly irrational or abnormal but psychiatrists who have examined her say she is sane.”
B2. 2/11/44 Mother’s letter to EC: “I have an appointment for a reading for my daughter, [3905] for June, 13 but I desperately need your advice before that time.
“She has been in the New York Psychiatric Hospital at 168 St. and the Hudson River for observation since Jan. 1st. Today I was informed that they have concluded she is not psychopathic but is in need of some sort of psychotherapy.
“They say she cannot remain at the hospital as it will take from five to seven years to effect a cure.
“The problem is this. If she leaves the hospital I fear she will return to her husband even against the advice of the doctors. He was discharged from the army because of a mental condition which is really serious. If they continued to live together it might end in tragedy.
“Anxiously awaiting your help, I am” […]
