This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 29th day of April, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - Mr. [3911], via Mr. W. L. Jones.

Time of Reading 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Birmingham, Alabama.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find there are many disturbing conditions in the physical forces of this body. These have to do with disturbing forces as are produced in specific centers in the nerve system, and the condition as has been brought about by this condition that has caused functioning organs to become so distended and is that condition wherein while not as yet wholly an organic trouble, yet may become so unless corrected.

4. These, then, are conditions as we find them in this body, [3911] we are speaking of.

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this shows the effect of a poor assimilation and poor elimination, and the blood impoverished from the elimination as has caused disturbing conditions throughout the functioning organs affected, especially, by the refuses of the system lodging in ligament and tissue in various portions of the body.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, as given, this the seat of the trouble, for there is shown impingements in the cerebro-spinal system, especially in the lumbar and central dorsal region. This, then, as we see, directly affected the mesenteric system, also the organs of the pelvis, as well as the conditions in the upper portion of hepatic circulation. The digestive portion of the lower stomach becoming involved, liver in such an over-active condition by properties taken to produce these exercises, as it were, of the functioning and activity of same, has brought about these conditions as need to be corrected - else we will have organic troubles in both liver and kidneys.

7. In the effect in the nerve system, weakness is shown in the upper portion of body, through bronchials and larynx, by the lack of nerve nutriment to these portions. Hence irritation and a dryness ensues at times, and when those things were taken to produce the reaction in the body through these portions, then an excess, and the headaches and the sleeplessness produced from these reactions.

8. All the organs of the body, then, are under strains. Though the body at times feels fairly well, yet never wholly just well, for the disturbing forces as are seen in the liver and kidneys, especially, bring distress to the body.

9. Now, to meet the needs of these conditions at the present time, it will be found necessary to build to that which will bring about the full correction of this body, [3911] we are speaking of.

10. In the first, we would have those corrections gently made as are seen necessary in the lumbar and dorsal region, through osteopathic adjustments, and it will require at least twenty-eight (28) such adjustments, and they should be taken at least twice to three times each week. At first these will not respond, for the dependence of the functioning system through the mesenteric is through those conditions as have been created, as it were, in nerve supply to meet the needs of the body, but we would apply that of the heat - either direct rays from light or wet heat - either one - provided these are given just BEFORE the manipulations or adjustments made. Then the dry heat may be applied again afterward, so that the body will relax thoroughly, see?

11. After the twenty-eight (28) treatments have been taken, then we would use those vibrations for the body as will be found in the Double X Radium Appliance, wearing this across the solar plexus. This, as we find, will assist in clarifying the blood stream and electrifying the nerve energy of the body, building back again those defunct conditions as exist through the genitory system, and enlivening the glands in the creative or generative systems of the body.

12. Do this, as we have given, and we would bring about the near normal forces for this body.

Dear Mr. Cayce:

Please accept my most grateful thanks for reading given me April 29 which fits my complaints in every way with exception of indigestion.

Will you kindly refer to this reading and give me a clearer understanding as to the Osteopathic adjustments from an osteopath doctor? (As Osteopath doctors term their manipulations as treatments.) (Chiropractics term their manipulations as adjustments.) As per my understanding.

To present date, I have taken 54 adjustments from chiropractic, also the Alpine Sun light treatment, which the chiropractic tells me is the same as dry heat. Altho this light treatment has been given to me only after the adjustments.

Will greatly appreciate your opinion as to the continuing of (28) twenty eight adjustments from the chiropractic or should I discontinue chiropractic and take up Osteopathic treatments. In the meantime I will continue the adjustments from chiropractic until I hear from you.

Reading fits my condition in every way with exception of indigestion. As per chiropractors it is exact. Medical physicians seem to think my trouble is chronic appendicitis.

Dear Mr. [3911]

Replying to yours of the 9th, I thank you very much for your report, and I’m glad to know you find the outline fits your complaints in every way.

We have often found in these readings, Mr. [3911], that it gives osteopathic adjustments. My understanding - from the information as has been given in such cases from time to time - is that the osteopath makes adjustments as well as giving manipulative treatments, and that corrections by the chiropractor are not always sufficient, though we have had instances where chiropractic treatments were suggested as that being necessary for the condition. It so happens that you have an osteopath in your town who is very well acquainted with the work that I have been doing for a number of years, and while I am not trying to drum up patients for him, I would suggest that you take your reading to Dr. Percy Woodall, and have him go over the condition with you. I’m sure he will be glad to do it, and if he feels he can give you relief, will tell you so.

Another thing, we have often found in these suggestions that the light be applied after treatments, and in others we have found that it was suggested that the body be relaxed with the light before the treatment is given. I believe therapeutically there is a reason for these various suggestions, which I believe is self-evident, with special conditions.

What causes - A dizziness or dullness just after getting up in the early morning. What causes the tired pressed feeling across the solar-plexus. What is this pain or ache about my heart. About this sleepiness after meals especially after evening meals or supper. What about this numbness or burning feeling sometimes occur in my hands and fingers. I have quite a bit of trouble with my right foot, causing me to keep a bandage on same practically at all times when walking, what about it. Is my health conditions caused or brought about due in any way from my “World War Service.”

I only wish we might have had the opportunity to give the reading there, that you might have heard and asked the questions that presented themselves to your mind as you heard the information given - but we are making the appointment for the reading the morning of the 24th - ten to twelve. I’m sending an appointment card, so there will be no mistake in our having the correct address at which you will be at time of appointment. Be sure and return this in time for us to have it in hand before that date.

I am glad to know that you desire to be a member of the Association, and I feel if you will keep in touch with Mr. Norman [J. C.
