This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 22nd day of May, 1926, in accordance with request made by self - Mrs. [3935].

Time of Reading 3:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Va.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time. You will diagnose the case thoroughly, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here.

3. Now, we find the physical conditions in this body very good throughout. There are those abnormal conditions in and with this body that are abnormal to other bodies. The condition may be assisted and brought nearer to the normal in this body. This condition has to do with the nerve system, and especially with that of the sensory organism.

4. Now, these are conditions as we find them in this body, Mrs. [3935] we are speaking of, present in this room. First:

5. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this we find very good throughout. The elements and the rebuilding forces in the system are good. The constituents and elements in same very good. The hemoglobin shows in its make-up that there are some minor deficiencies in its reaction, produced by conditions, as we shall see, in the nerve system and in the digestive system.

6. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in this we find those deficiencies or abnormalcies that may be assisted and corrected, especially in those pertaining to the sensory system and, specifically, in that as pertains to the nerves directing the reflection and the activity of the optic nerves proper. There is seen there was in times back a condition produced in the centers that caused reaction and irritation to the center that governed first the inferior nerves in the eye. Reflexly, this affected the condition in the optics and in the muscles about the central nerve, and caused the condition as came about from same. The present condition as exists is in that manner of causing the reaction from the system to the replenishing of the tissue, the conditions necessary to produce the perfect vision overcharged, and the excesses causing the distress or abnormal condition. The rest of the system in sensory very good.

7. In throat, bronchials, lungs, larynx, these very good in their action and in the reaction. There is seen in the larynx that effect of the nerve condition that reacts at times under strain, as is produced by the overtaxing in those centers as govern the nerve reaction from sensory and sympathetic system, in its juncture with the cerebro-spinal system, in the 5th cervical plexus.

8. In lungs good.

9. Heart’s action normal under NORMAL pressure, normal conditions.

10. Digestion very good most of the time. There is seen, from the condition in the lacteal, there the nerve tension under strain finds a physical reaction, yet, as is seen, the mental forces of the body - such as this is controlled through the MENTALITY of the body and not over strained when weakened. As is also seen, this condition exists at times along the lower portion of the hepatic circulation.

11. Liver, kidneys an spleen function normal. Spleen above normal for other bodies - normal to THIS body. In the lower portion of the intestinal digestion there is seen effects of the ability of the system to overcome these conditions, that may to other bodies be an excess of dross, or the ability, through the CONTROL of the physical forces of the body by the mental forces of THIS body, to control conditions in system.

12. To overcome these conditions in the system, we would, through the addition to that as in exercised by the body itself, through the control of itself throughout, mentally and physically, add those conditions as are supplied to the physical functioning of the body through the adjustments of those conditions in the 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd cervical, through osteopathic manipulation, and the application of those electric forces as are found in the Radio-Active Applicators, for this will produce the equilibrium and a normal metabolism for the nerve system; this acting in that capacity of applying the restive forces to the nerve system, using the negative anode to the wrist.

13. Do that, and we will find we will bring the normal forces, as may be brought for this body, through this correcting that strain as is produced, that tendency to the drawing of the muscular forces about the orbits. Ready for questions.

14. (Q) Would you suggest any direct application to the eyes themselves? (A) Only that necessary to correct that that CONTROLS the eye for the proper condition to ensue from same. Do that as has been given, if we would bring the normal condition for the eyes.

15. (Q) How long after using this treatment will it be before an improvement is noticeable, in a refraction? (A) In fourteen to twenty-eight days.

16. (Q) How often should the osteopathic treatments be given? (A) Beginning, they should be given at least every other day, until at least six to eight are taken. Then they may be given only once each week.

The application of the Radio-Active Forces should be each evening when the body rests, for at least an hour to an hour and a half, and KEEP UP those suggestions the body has given to self, for self’s ability must be applied in the correction of the conditions.

17. (Q) What should the diet be? (A) The body is a very good dietician. Better follow those out in its own incentives and forces. Never overload the system, for, as has been given, there are many conditions that, as is seen and as has been given, would prove to the normal, or to an ORDINARY system, an incorrect application of that as is known, as is applied in this body as is seen here. Never under any strain does the body overtax system with food. Never under any taxation mentally does the body allow the physical to go amiss, see? These are more to this body than food, or to the ordinary body, for these corrections keep the system balanced.

That necessary then, with corrections, is to produce the normal equalization in nerve retraction, nerve reaction - that which may become unison with that as is suggested to the self, through the building forces as applied in self, for the body must build first in the mind.

It may interest you to know that I am following out your diagnosis to the letter. Saturday evening after we returned home Dr. Frischkorn brought out one of his radio electric machines for me to use every night and I go to his office every other day for the other treatments.

Unfortunately we did not ask you while asleep, how long it would take to effect a cure, though you did say that a decided improvement would be noticed within twenty-eight days, so we are all very much interested and I felt that you would be pleased to know that we are proceeding according to instructions.

Dear Mrs. [3935]

In going over your reading given a day or two ago, I find that there was a Radio-Active Applicator suggested to be used by you, and I failed to tell you anything concerning same while you were here. I merely drop you this note to tell you where you may obtain same. Mr. T. B. Brown of the Brookins Mfg. Co., Dayton, Ohio, prepares these machines, and you can obtain this from him if you so desire.

We were certainly very glad to have you, Mrs. […] and Dr. Frischkorn, with us the other evening, and we certainly hope and trust that the suggestions as were given will prove very beneficial to you when carried out.

This information may possibly be of interest to you. You remember I told you of the teacher who was trying to be of help to her principal in one of the schools in New York. We have a very remarkable and very encouraging report from her. It seems that he has taken a new lease on life and is improving right along, even though his life had been despaired of.

R3. 6/25/26 EC’s ltr. to David E. Kahn: ”…Several months ago I had a request for a reading from some people in Florida. They told me of a gentleman there [2749] who was very much interested in phenomena of that kind, and finally he asked for a Life Reading for himself. When it was sent him he wrote me that while it was very good, he would have to say there was a good deal of it he didn’t understand, but he hoped he would as he studied into it deeper, that he had had several such readings made, but would have to say that mine did not agree with what the others had said, and that he was a psycho-analyst himself, and healer, but he has since requested at least two of his patients to ask for physical readings. So it must have at least awakened something out of the ordinary. We have also had two requests from internationally known psychology teachers [[3796] and [3935]] and lecturers. However, they are asking that their readings be treated very confidential as their readings were for physical ailments in themselves when their lectures are on health and how to keep it.
