This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, this 7th day of January, 1911, in accordance with request made by [3967].

1. EC: [3967], …, Kentucky. Yes, we have him here. We have had him before.

2. The whole nervous system is very much improved to what it was before, you see: We have these lesions along the spine here, especially here, you know, in the cervical, texture nerve force, nerve supply, the sensory nerve system here in the head, back to the eyes, to the ear here.

3. The removal of the tension of the nerve force here, along in the first, second cervical, you see, has relaxed the lesions along here, until we have a more uniform supply of blood force, a more uniform supply of blood force, gives more uniform nerve force, you see, and takes the strain off the organism of the ears and eyes in themselves.

4. The effecting to the eyes has been through the straining of a growing around, you see, of the nerve force around at the seat of the optic nerve here, to the frontal part of the eye. (Not the outside but the optic nerve from the back of the eye, looking in from the outside, or from looking at it from the back side here.)

5. See, the nerve force coming into the eye is from here at the eyeball, nowhere; they send out then little lobes, as it were, through the eyeball, to the crystal lens here, you see.

6. The gathering of the nerve force here, or oversupplying, or over-stimulation, or tautness of the nerve force, to the cervicals here, produce the strain, now the taking away of this strain here, you see, [3967], you see here we are talking about, now has relaxed these conditions until we have a unison of the supply of nerve and blood force to these, until we have gotten rid of these pains through the head, this buzzing in the ear, the pain of the eyes and head is better.

7. Now the eyesight in itself is some different from what we have had because we find here, now to the lobes in the eye in themselves, we have molecules or lobes, as it were, that dilate here from the optic nerve to the crystal lens of the eyes. These, you see here, taken out from the side, are building matters back to the eye force in itself, see; the whole rest of the condition of the whole system is improved.

8. Through the condition, through the sensory system, through the cerebrospinal nerve forces, through the sympathetics to the brain, the eye and nerve that goes to the ear, front part of the body, along the nerve supply of the body, lack of the condition to the conditions we have had here improving conditions we build back to the conditions that formally existed, rebuilding matter to the eye, carried by the blood supply, the nerve forces rebuild, as the supply caused in itself a taking away of the forces.

9. Well the same forces we have to relax these conditions, or produce these, are electrical force or electrical manipulation along here in the cervical, up along the spine here, you see, on through the head has decreased these forces we have had there, breaking up or tightening up of the nerve force, you see, to the supply - then as these are decreased and we keep the nerve supply and the blood supply open as we have them there, then of course the eyesight is bound to improve, here just like it decreased, here from the force. Then produce inflammation into the eye by an over-stimulation, this perhaps take it out from the side, see, here, down next to the nose, otherwise, we will take it out here from the absorption of the condition, the condition will improve but it will be gradually, unless we over-stimulate, we will produce then a growing over of the outer skin of the eye.

10. More manipulation of the hands, less manipulation of the electrical force, but not leaving off the electrical force, for that is nerve force, here you see.

11. And increase the proper amount of nutriment to it, renew then the nerve and the bone matter, to stimulate the muscular and blood supply to the head, not over-stimulate it, and the electrical force to electrify or stimulate, the nerve forces, see, the body is improving, improving now.

R1. 1/10/11 Affidavit signed by [3967] before Notary Public, George DeTreville, Hopkinsville, Kentucky:

“The affiant, [3967], states that he has been troubled with an eye effection for the last ten years, said condition have rendered him almost blind; and in addition thereto, he states that he has suffered almost continuously for the last seven years with deep-boring headaches, which were so severe at times, as to totally incapacitate him from any and all sorts of occupation.

“He further states that he has consulted specialists in five of our largest cities for said complaint, but received no results. On November 1st, 1910, his case was diagnosed by Edgar Cayce, said Cayce having no previous knowledge directly or indirectly, of said trouble. The statements he gave are appended to this affidavit and as far as affiant is able to know the description is identical and it covers the entire range of the trouble so far as he is able to judge. On November 10th, 1910, treatment was resorted to according to Mr. Cayce’s dictation, and now, after two months has elapsed, he states that in this time he has suffered with but one headache of only a few hours duration, as compared with previous seven years, in which time he had never gone one week without as much as three whole days of suffering. He states that his head feels clear and that his general health is better than it has been for seven years.

“He further states that the only treatment resorted to was that along the spine at the base of the brain, and in the dorsal region, as outlined in diagnosis.”*
