GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding same.
-
EC: We have the body here.
-
Now, we find there are conditions that are abnormal to the physical forces of this body, [3969] we are speaking of. In considering the conditions that exist with the physical forces of this body, well were those conditions understood that show the relation between the physical, the material, the spiritual and the soul forces of a body. Well are many of the truths that would be well for mankind to learn exhibited in this body, for while the forces are one in normal application toward life; yet, as exhibited or manifested, there may be such strains brought to bear upon the various elements that go to make up that through which the various portions of the entity function, until there is produced improper coordination between same; yet the physical body not far or greatly disarranged, or diseased, while the mental or the intellectual may be as manifested here, in accord, yet unable to fully cooperate with the physical functioning of the system, where the soul becomes tired, while yet the spiritual urges on. These, then, have been classified by man under various heads, not wholly yet understood by many, as pathological, psychological, and the variations between same, as of the incapacitation of physical reactions. So, with these, we may see how is this body the conditions exist. These, then, are the manners as we find with this body, [3969] we are speaking of.
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this full in many respects. TOO full in other respects; especially when the disintegration of used materials in the physical body is considered, or the body not able to supply that which brings recuperative, resuscitating forces to the use of the body through that assimilated by the system, under the existent conditions. The elements, constituents of the blood itself, especially in a division of the hemoglobin, show the lack of proper cellular forces to produce plasmatic cellular units of plasm in system. Now one would say, what does this mean? Here: We find, as will be seen, that the strains on centers in system have made such inroads as to prevent the proper coordinating of the division of that assimilated to supply this portion of rebuilding in the system.
-
IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, in reaction most of the trouble is manifested here. The nature of same produces or brings about this. While the basis or the first beginning of same is NOT of that nature primarily. Rather of gland. In the nerve system as considered at the present, or present existent conditions, this we find existent:
-
Necessary for the producing of nominal rest of functioning portions of sympathetic nerve system, to bring subjugation, or hypnosis, or subjectiveness to the nominal centers of cerebro-spinal system. Hence this naturally, within itself, the detrimental condition toward the proper re-inhibition or the resuscitation of proper coordination between the forces of the entity of this body. In the reaction as produced in nerve system, this the basis of the condition. In the glands in the system, there the lack of - or, through inhibitive or prenatal forces, a weakness that is shown in the action of tissue in the nerve itself as it manifests, and the condition existent is a reflection of that incapacity of system to divide or devise from the system through that of assimilated and the blood building plasma to supply that necessary for this action in sympathetic and coordinating system, which occurs through the action of the lyden [leydig] gland with that of the pineal, in its recurrence to bring forces along those of the sympathetics coordinating with cerebro-spinal centers. Now these, as seen then, a reflex - or an affectation from an existent condition. The basis, the seat of the soul, then, in that of the lyden gland, with the pineal reaction in the system, and this the activity that brings about psychological conditions. Hence when there is reaction in this body, it becomes that of the body turned inward toward the ego, or self, and self-pity, condemnation, and the inability to return same in outward activity; or, as has been given, in the living physical force we find the reversing of the body toward that of what has been termed deterioration, which means in the end REBUILDING; and will continue to bring deterioration unless that is added to the system that will bring about nominal impulse and the ability of the system to replenish within that necessary force to overcome these conditions from the physical sense, and add to the self that sufficient to carry on nominally.
-
IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, these very good, as may be seen, even from the existent condition in the body, from the description as of the body more soul sick than physical; yet physical conditions are existent, or those conditions that are within the body such as may be aided, through physical and MENTAL means, to bring about the better cooperation, coordination, throughout this body of [3969].
-
Then, add to that vibration of the body that which will bring sufficient in the system first to be able to leave off that which is gradually bringing deterioration to the sensibilities of nerve reflex. This may be added in that of electrical forces, for nerve reflexes are the electric system of the human body; with these carry those properties that will build in the glands’ reaction that which will bring resuscitation to the lyden [leydig] and pineal glands, and thus build up that which the body needs through the assimilation as takes place for replenishing the cellular force from blood supply. This will be found in the Radio-Active Appliance with that of the alternated forces of Gold (Chloride) and of muriated Iron. These would be added through the battery appliance, carried to the umbilican center and radiated to the extremities, through wrist and ankle - see? This should be added to the system at least two hours each day when the body is ready to retire. When using the gold, first begin by applying the positive to the wrist. When using the iron, apply the positive to the ankle. The NEXT time, the GOLD is applied to the ankle. Continue to reverse these in each application. Also give those manipulations that will bring about the correction of those subligations as exist in various centers along the cerebro-spinal system, especially those in the cervical and coccyx.
-
In the activities of the body, when sufficient vibration has been accorded through the Radio-Active forces to eliminate, or almost eliminate the taking of the hypnotic or narcotic, THEN we would begin with the mental reaction.
-
Keep as much cheery company about the body as possible, and as far from thoughts of self as possible. Bring the body nearer in contact with the necessity of exercising self physically and mentally for the aid of others. Ready for questions. The reaction of the vibratory forces should in three to four weeks prevent the use of the hypnotic or narcotic forces for body. Then the changes may come in location or place, but begin with the manipulations at the same time the vibratory forces are given to body.
-
(Q) What proportion of the gold and what proportion of the iron? (A) That of fifteen (15) grains to ten (10) ounces distilled water, in both cases.
-
(Q) Where would the body go to get this treatment? (A) Where it is! These may be applied by anyone to the body in the way and manner as has been outlined.
-
(Q) Any further advise for this body? (A) Do that as we have given, if we would bring about the full cooperation and understanding of the physical, mental and spiritual forces of the body. We are through for the present.

R1. 9/5/28 EC’s letter to Morton H. Blumenthal: “This man - Mr. [3969] - who is here at the time - My! If we only had the institution ready now! It’s certainly quite a pitiful case. Of course there have been many cases very similar. Several we have had under the observation of the readings. Those that were given just what was suggested in the reading have gotten well. Those that were not able to get that have gone mad, or soon met a sudden death. If the place was open, why he would be right there. Quite an influential man, I understand - and a man with a great deal of dollars and cents; but they mean nothing whatever in this poor man’s life at present. But it’s a case that requires a place where it can be looked after every day, to do any good.”
R2. 7/19/40 HLC’s letter to Mr. Rice:
Mr. C. M. Rice, 614 Broad St., Portsmouth, Va.
Dear Mac:-
Our files show that you were present at a Physical Reading given by my father for Mr. [3969] in September 1928. We have no report on this case, and are anxious to close our files on it. I’d appreciate it if you would fill out the enclosed report form, so far as you are able, and return it to us. If the Reading was never followed we would like to know this and have it a recorded record in his folder. I’d appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Sincerely, Hugh Lynn Cayce, Manager HLC:GD

R4. 8/17/49 Report by his sister-in-law, [1424]: “His wife, my husband’s sister, daughter of a minister, very orthodox, and being soul-sick because her husband sought escape from the home, tore up the reading and would not agree to do anything about it. She has since died and sends messages from the spirit world that she is sorry. My brother-in-law, [3969], is still living in … [3969] has more money than he knows what to do with, but his family has arranged it so that he can’t give it away in big lumps as he has been trying to do for years. He is perfectly normal in many ways, apparently. His illness is an escape mechanism - he admitted this to me shortly after he had the reading from EC.”
