This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 12 day of May, 1927, in accordance with request made by self - [3970].

Time of Reading 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ohio.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: We have the body here.

3. Now, we find the inabilities to bring about the perfect coordination throughout the body is produced from many causes; the first being that of too much of those properties in the system carrying mercury, until we have that character of reaction in the nerve centers, and especially in the locomotion in such centers.

4. To bring the nearer normal conditions for this body will require a great deal of very strict care and attention, and while there are being many things administered for the welfare of the physical conditions of the body, in a manner, yet many of these are not meant well. These are bad.

5. But to bring the better forces would be to change from the environment entirely, and be under the care and attention of those that WOULD administer discretely and directly to the upbuilding of the physical forces. Until these changes, we would only give as this:

We would apply to the body those properties as would be found in the Radio-Active Appliance, carrying only those properties in the negative anode, as is found in Spirits of Camphor, administering same through the heavy plate in and about the umbilicus, and this should be applied for at least thirty (30) minutes three (3) times each day, see? morning, noon, and evening, see? with sufficient of the ice kept in the temperature that will give off the highest vibration, see? that is, not too much water, but more ice, and only in the wooden or crock container - not a metal, see? and do not let the anodes come in contact with each other.

7. We would follow these.

8. As medicinal properties, those of this combination:

Tincture of Valerian…1 ounce, Elixir Calisaya…1 ounce, Iodide of Potassium 10% solution…30 minims, Bromide of Potassium 10% solution…10 minims, Tincture of Capsici…2 minims, and sufficient simple syrup to make eight (8) ounces.

9. The dose of this would be half a teaspoonful in water twice each day. If the body inclines to become nervous or irritable, the dose may be repeated more often, see? but never closer than two to three hours, see?

10. The diet should be kept nearer to those that produce the better assimilation.

11. Follow these directions, though, for thirty-six (36) days. Then we would give the changes as have come about in the surroundings, and that as necessary for corrections for better condition in the body of [3970].

12. (Q) Should that which is being done for the body be left off? (A) Leave off ALL, and do these as we have given.

13. We are through.

These have always proven very beneficial where they have been suggested, for it is an appliance made to order, to fit the needs of the individual body.

Should you have any trouble in getting your prescription prepared, I would suggest that you send the whole reading to the

Burrow, Martin Drug Co., 265 Granby Street, Norfolk, Va.

I’m sure you will be able to get it prepared there, but it’s necessary to send the whole reading.

Apparently, there are some peculiar conditions surrounding or connected with this condition. We would appreciate it if you will write us in detail. There will be a physician associated with the work very shortly, and we would like to make a thorough systematic study of each case.

My trouble is poor circulation near to and my heart palpitates. I get cold at night after retiring. I have taken hot water bottle to bed every night since September. I can not sleep while in that condition. I also have hydricane (?) [dropsy?] and very poor circulation of the blood.

I was born in ‘53.

In the reading I received this morning I don’t exactly understand the reading, not plain enough. It did not strike me actly (?), only the nervousness and circulation. I will wait until I hear from you again before I try your prescription. Wishing your reading a little more plain.

Dear Mr. [3970]

Replying to yours of the 17th, in respect to the treatments as suggested - from the experience we have had with others, I am sure you should get the Radio-Active Appliance from

Mr. Thos. B. Brown, Brookins Mfg. Co., Dayton, Ohio,

at once. That is a specific for poor circulation, and, too, it will coordinate the conditions for better heart action, assisting you to be able to sleep, and overcome that condition wherein you get cold upon retiring. This Appliance is ESPECIALLY for those conditions.

The prescription, as I understand it, is for the nerves and for better circulation. I would not get the prescription unless I was using the Appliance also. I think the cost of these will be so nominal that you would do well to at least give these a fair trial. Then when you have begun to try to carry out the suggestions given, we will be better able to try and help you more.
