LBC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [3989]. You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will answer the questions which I will ask you regarding the physical, mental and business relations of this body.
-
EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [3989].
-
Now we find in the physical forces there are those conditions that give distress to the body at times. These are of various sources, and while the condition is not one that may be called constitutional; yet we find the depleted condition within the physical forces is such that these have become rather of the nature of some chronic conditions, considered from the physical abilities and the resistances as are attempted to be created in the body. Disorders arise, then, more from specific conditions; yet these specifics have their seat, or cause disorders in many directions. First:
-
IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, while this very good, yet it is hindered in its circulation by impingements, in a greater or lesser degree, dependent upon the action of certain centers in their functioning; that is, with the body subject to severe physical strain, or mental strain, and overtaxed through digestion, certain conditions are disturbed, as is seen in the kidneys or in the digestive system, or reflexly may be produced those of headaches, nausea, and tendency of feet, lower limbs, and pains across the lower portion of back. Again we find these conditions disappear - the body feels buoyant and able and capable of coping with the conditions. Not wholly is it a mental reaction, but the mental reaction coupled with condition produced in the blood supply brings about resuscitation to the forces of the body, and recuperation takes place. Hence we may find this may not be called wholly a constitutional condition, nor yet be it far from this condition, on account of the specific disorders.
-
IN THE NERVE CENTERS, and in the nervous system from this existent condition, there may be seen many conditions exist that are not normal, neither are they the CAUSE directly of conditions, save as is seen reflexly, or through that manner in the way as has been outlined is produced or caused by those conditions as exist in various forms and manners in the system; yet in the lower portion of the cervical, and in the central or base of brain, we find there is gradually forming lesions that are of a nature that may bring disorders, were cold or congestion to come about, or lack of sleep, or the lack of sufficient activity taken. These are in that state of condition where any irritation might bring distressing troubles to the body in the form of contraction of nerve centers throughout the left side of the body. These may be relieved by the application of those conditions that would remove or cause the body to re-vibrate in the proper way and manner. These conditions are produced from that condition as existed in the base of brain, or from fall, or from those conditions as followed same, in the manner and way the body was treated, or as applications were made for resuscitation to the body. These leave their strains in the system. The body finds mentally much may be removed from the physical body. Hence material mindedness comes to the body in its direct action with the physical, mental and spiritual world. Hence brings barriers in many ways, when if applied in the proper channel would bring quite a different result. The body (for the body is susceptible to changes) must recognize that one change is as another change, and only as an individual moves or builds within self does the condition assume any particular aspect.
-
IN THE PHYSICAL FUNCTIONINGS OF THE BODY, from these conditions existent, we find then specific troubles worry the body at times. The capillary circulation, as we see, is low. The pulmonary circulation good. The liver very active in the proper way and manner, yet when excessively so brings distress to the kidneys when overtaxed, as has been seen, and as is given by the entity as finding these conditions bring distress at times, by the inflammation as is created or caused in the bladder by the kidneys attempting to undo, or to overdo themselves through eliminating used forces from the system.
-
Now, to meet the needs of the physical conditions of the body, first we would prepare as this - these taken as medicinal properties for the body:
-
Eight (8) ounces garden sage to thirty-two (32) ounces distilled water. Reduce by simmering, or slow boiling, to one-half (1/2) the quantity. Strain, and while warm add four (4) ounces of beet sugar dissolved in two (2) ounces of hot water. Fifteen (15) grains of Ambergris dissolved in one (1) ounce of pure grain alcohol. Then add gin (preferably Gordon’s Gin) two and a half (2 1/2) ounces. Then add Oil of Sassafras five (5) minims. Cinnamon one (1) dram, preferably in the stick.
-
Shake the solution together before the dose is taken, which would be a teaspoonful three (3) times each day, taken before meals - and eat the meals! Not heavy, no. Beware of meats for the body. Too much of sugars is bad. Those of the vegetables that grow above the ground, these are better for the body. These bring better conditions for the body. Lentils, beans, carrots, celery, lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower - all of these are well. These may be seasoned very well, but not with grease, other than butter fat. This preferable, though not too much butter otherwise. Brown bread, or whole wheat bread, or rye bread these preferable for the body’s use. Fish and fowl, or wild game, may be taken in moderation. These for the system as internal.
-
For those conditions as exist along the cerebrospinal system, especially in the region of the lower cervical, upper dorsal and upper cervical, or cervical and upper dorsal region, we would apply those vibrations as would be found in an electrically driven vibrator. We would also massage (may be massaged by self with hands) those of the throat, head and neck. Well that the body, at least twice each day, take the head and neck exercises - these will bring stimulation from the forces of the body as are secreted through the glandular forces of all of those seated in the base of brain, neck and head. These will add to the strength and stimulation of the system.
-
Those conditions as exist in the lower extremities and limbs, these massaged each evening with equal parts of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh. Heat the oil and add the myrrh. These will reduce these conditions, easing the body. Massage from the hips down, along the sciatic nerve and over the bottom or soles of feet. Rub or massage thoroughly, and we will find these callous conditions reduced and the soreness, and strength to the lower limbs assisted. Well, too, were this massaged occasionally across the kidneys, or lower portion of the spine. Ready for questions.
-
(Q) Regarding my business, I would like to know how I may remedy the slight imperfections in a continuous motion picture machine - projecting machine - in which I am interested? (A) In this, we find there have been three models, or two prepared and one in preparation. In each of these we find there is the continual development towards the application of the idea as is presented. Only in applying those conditions as are set forth will the success of these come. These may be given; yet these will be understood only by the applying of that as is being prepared for the perfect operation. The second much improvement over the first. The third should see the perfect, or perfecting of the idea. When perfect, or when near perfection - or better still, as the condition exists - interest those who use such machines in the project, and through this channel let that created or made be used, for through these channels the body would gain the most aid, or the moneys to complete, and greater moneys to be used by the entity in that after completion. This may be handled through Eastman, Rochester.

We are through for the present.
Reports
Reports & Follow-up
R1. 1/4/28 [3989]‘s letter to EC: “Your favor of December 23rd was duly received and contents carefully considered.
“My physical condition, while it was not 100%, was not the principal thing that I had in mind when communicating with you. What I was especially interested in was to see if you could give me some definite idea as to how to proceed with the motion picture projecting machine, the history of which is as follows:
“We built Model #1, One machine; Model #2, One machine; Model #3 Two machines; Model #4 One machine.
“We are still experimenting with Model #4 and the picture is very good, but the machine is not quite perfect. Our engineer has made drawings for another machine, which we believe would give satisfactory results. In my letter of December 17th I designated this with the letter ‘A’.
“Our engineer has designed another, which I have designated with the letter ‘B’, which is similar to ‘A’, but has some slight difference. Our engineer has designed still another, which I designated as ‘C’. This last mentioned machine is a radical departure from the other two.
“I would like very much to get an expression from you as to which design, A or B, is preferable, also as to whether design ‘C’ can be made to give satisfactory results, i.e., to throw a satisfactory picture on the screen.
“I am unable to form any definite opinion as to the merits of the different designs from your reading of December 22nd, which accompanied your letter of December 23rd, and would be much pleased if you would interpret it for me at your convenience.
“With best wishes, I am…” [3989]
R2. 3/16/28 EC’s letter to [3989]: “Such a great length of time has elapsed since I received yours of January 4th, that I hardly know whether to expect you to be interested in anything I might have to say or not. I realize that my seeming negligence in not answering your letter would lead you, possibly, to conclude that I felt UNABLE to furnish you information, or that I had merely attempted to get you interested for the little entrance fee to the Association. This I can only assure you is not true. Circumstances and conditions have prevented my keeping in touch with many of the individuals who have approached the work from one angle or another. As you possibly gathered from my conversation with you, I was attempting to get builded here at Virginia Beach an institution for the more careful, more systematic study of the information given, and of ways and means in applying same toward the individual needs of people seeking information. This sort of thing, you know, requires a lot of money. Many people have been interested in various parts of the country, and I have spent practically all of the time since I was in New York visiting with, planning and studying the situation as to how we could begin this institution at once. I just in the last few days returned from a visit to Chicago. Some work was done. I feel that considerable was accomplished, and I believe in the next few weeks we will see the actual work of this building begun. I am sure you know that this has been my dream, my purpose, my aim, for many a long year - to be better able, better facilitated - if possible - to serve humanity, and I have believed that this is the proper channel and proper way. Hence the seeming negligence to many of those who have been coming to me during this time. I don’t know just what progress you have made, whether you would want to consider these sources any more or not, but - if I CAN be of help - if you DESIRE that I ATTEMPT
- I shall be very glad to hear from you, and trust that I may be of service.”
R3. 3/19/28 [3989]‘s letter to EC: “Your favor of the 16th instant has been received and I am pleased to know that you are making progress with your work and I assure you that it would be a great satisfaction to me to see you establish it.
“As to my case, it is comparatively unimportant. Physically I am very near 100% and as to the machine, we are working it out and I feel quite confident that our next machine will give us a perfect picture. I did not understand fully what you meant with respect to the machine, and in my letter of January 4th I set forth the problem and while I do not wish to trouble you further with respect to it, if you have the time to elucidate your deductions or advice, I should be pleased to get the information, but as I said before, I do not want to intrude upon your time and feel that my affairs are unimportant compared with the result for which you are striving…”
R4. 4/2/28 EC’s letter to [3989]: “I certainly am in hopes things are working along nicely for you. I had been in hopes that I would have the opportunity to ask some questions that you suggested in your former letter regarding your machine, but they have been keeping us so busy with the physical readings, we haven’t had an opportunity. I think, in all probability, I will be in New York about the 21st, for four or five days. I am in hopes that I’ll have the opportunity to see and talk with you again, and if I don’t have an opportunity before that time, possibly we can get some information if you so desire. I certainly appreciate your interest, and am in hopes that you will find the opportunity sometime to visit us here…”

B1. 12/15/27 EC’s letter to [3989]: “I felt so impressed with your personality that I feel I would like to add a personal word or two, as well as answering your questions regarding the appointment for your reading.
“As you know, I have already sent you the little pamphlets. I am glad to know that you found these interesting, and I am very much in hopes that you will find - with your association with the phenomena - the answer to many of the questions that have long disturbed you. This, to my own mind, is the greatest thing manifested in the readings given; that is, each individual who stops to consider it for the second time apparently finds that in same that answers to a something within his own self; thus giving him a broader consciousness of what life is all about.
“Now, we are enclosing the appointment card. You may be at your apartment or at your office. We have regular hours, of course, for the work, and do not make them haphazardly as was necessary while I was in New York. As to its being necessary for you to be alone, I don’t know as this is absolutely necessary - but my own idea is that the more centralized your own mind is at the time of the reading on what you desire to know, the more easily you will understand the information given. I understand you desire to ask some questions. These you may make note of and enclose with the appointment card. We certainly hope that we may be of service.
“With kindest personal regards, I am…”
B2. 12/17/27 [3989]‘s letter to EC: “Your very interesting letter of Dec. 15th was duly received and I desire to say that I am in accord with the purposes of the association as set out in your letter.
“I beg to return the card of appointment for Dec. 22nd and would respectfully call your attention to the various points mentioned below by me, on which I would be pleased to have assistance. If they are too comprehensive I hope you will attribute it to the fact that I am not familiar with how far one should go in his questions rather than think that I was disposed to overstep the boundary of the privilege granted to me.
“My physical condition is good with exception of following; (1) For years I have gotten up 3 or 4 times during the night to relieve my urinary bladder. (2) I had a fall in February 1926, struck the back of my head, resulting in pain in my neck. The malady is slight but neck is not entirely normal. (3) Have callouses on the bottom of both feet, under the little toes; causing more or less pain when walking. I wear arch supports.
“As to my business I would like to know; (A) How to remedy the slight imperfections in a continuous motion picture machine - projecting machine - in which I am interested? (B) I have 2 designs before me for next machine to be built, which I will designate as ‘A’ and ‘B’. I would like to know which is the better design. Also I have a design ‘C’, which may be a decided improvement that might come later. I would like to know if ‘C’ can be made to operate successfully? (C) What is the best way to secure money to continue the work of building another machine? (D) What is best financial plan to follow after the machine shall have been perfected; that is shall I try to secure money by endeavoring to sell the business and patents outright or to secure money from bankers? In short what shall I do in respect to this?
“On Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 1927 between the hours of 10 and 12 O’clock A.M. I shall be at … Apartment 63 in my room; New York, City and shall have a copy of this letter before me.”
