This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 1st day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self Mrs. [4011], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet.

Time of Reading 11:05 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Maryland.

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4011].

3. As we find there are disturbances which unless measures are taken for correction may cause a great deal of distress later on. For we have some tendencies here, as combined with a complication of other disturbances that might become very serious.

4. These, when, are the conditions as we find them with this body:

5. First, we find that there has been a lesion and a subluxation caused by a wrench or a twisting in the area of the 6th and 7th dorsal. This has produced a pressure that prevents the activity of the circulation to the areas that supply the greater activity to the ducts that control sugar in the system. This gives an inclination partially to a diabetic condition, or inflammation in the kidney area; also producing from this same area those activities that are tending towards a form of anemia. There is a tendency towards engorgement in the spleen area.

6. This combined with the activities in the sympathetic nervous system has produced a great strain on the body through the general nervous system.

7. From those conditions existent in the organs of the pelvis, there are those tendencies for inflammation in the vagina itself. This is a form of condition that arises from intercourse, which has caused, does cause, disturbance to the kidneys; which will gradually increase unless measures are taken to eliminate the sources of the inflammation caused in the tubes from the cervix to the bladder itself. The pus that forms comes from this area not from the kidneys themselves, but the excess of activity of kidneys, is produced from the conditions existent in the glands in that portion of the body.

8. In making corrective measures we would begin in the present with Glyco-Thymoline douches. Of course, these are not to be given during the Periods but afterwards, especially. Use only the fountain syringe. Have the water body temperature and add to each quart two tablespoonsful of Glyco-Thymoline. Every other week use an Atomidine douche instead of a Glyco-Thymoline douche; a teaspoonful of Atomidine to the quart and a half of body temperature water.

9. One week take the Glyco-Thymoline douche, the next week the Atomidine douche and so on - preferably the same day each week.

10. We would also have osteopathic adjustments. The subluxations and lesions existent in the dorsal area should be eliminated. The conditions through upper dorsal and cervical would be coordinated with those corrections made in the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th dorsals, and there should be coordination with the conditions existent in lumbar and sacral.

11. Do add oft to the diet liver and beef juice.

12. If these corrections will be made, we may eliminate a great deal of trouble later.

13. Do that.

15. (Q) What causes and what may be done to correct lapse of memory and inability to think straight? (A) Make the corrections so as to bring about proper relationships between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal nervous system, and the severe strains will be eliminated; thus causing better coordination between sympathetic or the imaginative system or the memory and the cerebrospinal system.

16. (Q) Has this been due to emotional strain resulting from early marriage, divorce, etc.? (A) As indicated, a combination. There has been a wrench, a strain, causing a subluxation and a lesion in the 6th and 7th dorsal. This, of course, extends to the 9th. Also the inflammation must be removed from the pelvic organs.

Do these and we will find better conditions.

R1. 9/26/45 Letter from [4011]: “Could you possibly help me to obtain Atomidine. I have tried in every way I can to get it with no results. Mr. Cayce gave me a rdg. April 1, 1944, which called for the use of Atomidine. I would also like to know if you still distribute literature of any kind?” [Note: Lydia, Send DL telling about Atomidine - also have Meredith send her a bottle c.o.d., and advise her. R2. 11/19/45 Letter from [4011]: “I would like to know if there is any literature you can send me that expresses Mr. Cayce’s beliefs about divorce and re-marriage. The Bible forbids divorce, I know, and I would like to know if Mr. Cayce ever dealt with this question in his readings?

“I would also like to know how he felt about the Christian Science faith, if he ever expressed any opinions about specific religions.

“As a personal note I would like to add that it puzzled me a great deal when I read of Mr. Cayce’s passing and while I was thinking about it the thought came to me - it is the wickedness of this world that caused his death. Perhaps others have expressed this same view?”

“Can you give me any advice on helping one to overcome selfishness. There are many many phases of selfishness and while we sometimes appear generous in one respect we may be unconsciously selfish in another. I seem to have selfishness and self preservation all mixed up somehow. - I wonder if you can help me.”

[She came in and talked to HLC in July, 1946. She was interested in getting a job at A.R.E.]

R3. 7/3/46 HLC’s note: “Mrs. [4011] reported about fall from horse about 1 year before applied for reading. Fell on left side - bad bruise.

“May have been wrench referred to.”

R4. 7/6/46 Letter from [4011]: “First I want to thank you for your cordial welcome and assistance to me this past Wednesday when I was at the Beach.

“This is Mrs. [4011] writing and I promised to drop you a card from my Aunts’ in Virginia. We could not make good bus connections to her home and so we got the boat Thursday evening at Norfolk and returned home. I intend to take osteopathic treatments from Dr. Smith again and since he has a copy of the reading perhaps we can obtain better results.

“Thank you again for your kindness and interest.”

R5. 7/11/46 Letter from HLC to [4011]: “It was good of you to stop in and see us and I am sorry that I could not do any more for you. The 4th of July is a bad time at the Beach for anything except staying inside and being very quiet.

“Please let us hear from you after you have talked with Dr. Smith. Tell him I would appreciate a report on your case.

“Please do not hesitate to call on us if we can be of help. With a little time I might be able to locate something for you if you still consider making a change.”

R6. 12/2/46 She requested A.R.E. data sent to several friends.

R7. 6/24/47 Mother’s letter: “I have asked you people to stop sending mail from your corporation to [4011]. If I have to ask you again you will have a LAW SUIT on your hands.

“I am [4011]‘s mother. She has been in a mental hospital from just such bunk as you people mail out. She has been a very sick girl, and is now on the road to recovery. No sooner she gets home, you again start with the correspondence. Stop it as of now.”

R8. 10/8/47 Letter from [4011]: “Will you please tell me if there is any volunteer work for the Association that can be done from one’s home? If so, I want to offer my services in hope that I can further the cause of enlightening others to find a better way of life, and in appreciation for the help and enlightenment I have received.”
