This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 24th day of March, 1944, in accordance with request made by the self - Miss [4018], new Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by the article in Coronet.

[Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. (Notes read to and transcribed by Jeanette Fitch.)]

Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:00 P. M. Eastern War Time. Los Angeles, Ca.

  1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

  2. EC: Yes. As we find there are disturbing conditions. These have been rather of longstanding and they have changed much.

  3. The activities of the mental body towards the environments and surroundings have not been well for the body, for the changes that have come about. True, there are still active influences in the lung of the tubercular condition. There are cavities indicated in the left lung, there are congestions in the right, there is the exercising upon the bronchi.

  4. We find that these may be materially aided, but we would approach the disturbances from quite a different angle. Thus, though the body has long been under the direction of sympathetic attendants as physicians and the care with others, the choices must be made by the entity as to whether these changes will be made. For you can’t ride two horses, neither can you serve two masters; one or the other will necessarily have to be discarded.

  5. We would use the charred keg with apple brandy in same, prepared so that there is the forming of evaporation or the gas from same a little above normal. In a gallon and a half keg put three-quarter gallon of pure apple brandy, not apple jack but brandy that has been redistilled. This would be kept close to heat, not too hot but so as to cause fast evaporation. Keep the vents well corked. Inhale the fumes into the throat and lungs, not too often in the beginning but twice or three times a day; not too severely at first. This will not only act as an antiseptic to retard the effect of the active forces in the lungs and throat but will also heal.

  6. Then, as indicated by the gradual effect that such a disturbance naturally has in lungs, it will have the effect upon liver and kidneys, and will purify the disturbances that tend to exist in the liver and kidneys.

  7. Also we would take Acigest regularly to allow for the assimilation of foods so that the gastric juices of the lower portion of stomach and duodenum are entirely changed by the taking of these properties into the system. Take a teaspoonful of the Acigest in a glass of raw milk, preferably at the evening meal, about three times each week. The fresher the milk the better. Even if it is taken warm with the animal heat still in same it would be better, if the body is able to obtain such, but of course, let it be from a cow or herd that has been tested. After a little while, when the system adjusts itself to these properties and there is the ability of the body to assimilate foods better, so that there is body building and not body destruction, we would increase to four times each week.

  8. Also we would take three times each week, preferably at the noon meal, a whole wheat cracker spread thinly with Calcios. This would be taken on the days that the Acigest is not taken.

  9. After a period of at least two weeks of taking these properties, let the body keep in the open, where there is more sunshine, though never the sun directly on the body - until after a period of two to three months. Keep in the open air but where there is not too much dust, of course; where there is more oxygen and more of the energies of the sunshine upon the body. Keep well wrapped, of course, never getting the feet wet. Stay out of the night air but be in the early morning air.

  10. Do these and we will bring improvements for the body.

  11. Do not collapse the lungs nor use the gases other than the breathing of the fumes from the apple brandy.

  12. In the diet do take fish and fowl often. Do take plenty of butter, milk, whole grain cereals and those things that are body-building, as much as can be well assimilated; as steak that is prepared well and well cooked. Have plenty of such foods. Liver should be taken often, beef tripe, pigs feet. Not too much of these at a time but gradually, as the body assimilates the properties indicated, there may be builded resistances by the assimilation in the body itself. For with the fumes we will destroy the tubercular germ. Also the Acigest and Calcios will aid in eliminating the destructive forces from the body.

  13. We are through with this reading.

Calcios is a syrupy paste containing free calcium easily assimilated and sells for 2.50 a jar. Acigest is hydrochloric acid in a form easily assimilated and sells for 1 a bottle.
