1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, here we have a disturbing condition with the body, and a very unusual mind to deal with. To be sure, attitudes oft influence the physical conditions of the body. No one can hate his neighbor and not have stomach or liver trouble. No one can be jealous and allow the anger of same and not have upset digestion or heart disorder. Neither of these is present here, and yet those attitudes have much to do with the accumulations which have become gradually the disorders that tend to produce those tendencies towards a neuritic-arthritic reaction. Stiffness at times is indicated in the locomotories; a nausea, or upsetting of the digestive system; headaches seem to arise from a disturbance between liver and the kidneys themselves, though usually the setting up of better eliminations causes these to be eased.

3. We would find here that there would be better conditions produced by the use periodically, in the beginning twice a week for at least three to four to five weeks, of the thorough hydro-therapy treatments. These should include Sweat, or Fume Baths, Sitz Baths, Bubble Baths; then a thorough massage and rubdown, using Pine Oils in the rubs, to cleanse and purify the superficial circulation, and to stimulate better circulation throughout the body.

4. Include in these, occasionally, the ultra-violet ray treatment. Preferably the ultra-violet would be given through green glass. It will be more beneficial to the body. To be sure, it takes from the ray certain elements that are needed, but it changes them to a healing, rather than a destructive ray, in its passage through stained - not painted - glass.

5. Do have, through the first period at least two high colonic irrigations.

6. Then the attitudes of the body: Know that there is within self all healing that may be accomplished for the body. For, all healing must come from the Divine. For who healeth thy diseases? The source of the Universal supply. As the attitude, then, of self, how well do ye wish to be? How well are ye willing to cooperate, coordinate with the Divine influences which may work in and through thee, by stimulating the centers which have been latent with nature’s activities. For, all of these forces must come from the one source, and the applications are merely to stimulate the atoms of the body. For each cell is as a representative of a universe in itself. Then what would ye do with thy abilities? As ye give to others, not hating them, to know more of the Universal Forces, so may ye have the more, for, God is love.

7. Do that, and ye will bring bettered conditions for yourself. Work where you are. As was given to those who were called, “The ground upon which ye stand is holy”. Begin where you are. If there are the needs for other environs, these will be shown - will be given thee.

Gentlemen:

Inclosed please find check for three dollars ($3.00). Please send me a copy of “There is a River”. Mr. Cayce’s work is the most miraculous exemplification that has come to my notice so far in my life. God grant that there will be more like him as the need is great.

I have been working and studying in Metaphysics for several years and believe that an understanding of the true essence of our being is the answer to all man’s need.

However have had an unbalanced condition of the body that seems to defy all my attempts to overcome. This condition has persisted for a decade or more. So please give a reading for me so that I may lead a normal life for I feel that it is your power to do so.

An attempt to describe my condition, I believe is unnecessary so will not attempt to do so.

Dear mr. Cayce;

Please accept my thanks for the consideration you have shown me. I have been reading the weekly papers and enjoy them very much even tho at times some of the subject matter is a little too deep for me.

Will not go into the history of my case as I think it would be taking up unnecessary time but have compiled a list of the questions as best I could and think they cover the present. Later I wish to take an advanced reading.

The questions are as follows.

What may I do to regain my health? As oft a man’s work influences his health will you advise me if the work of the present is suitable and will it be the best for me to follow in the future? If so could a change to another firm in the same business be of benefit? Please advise if a change of residence would be advisable. If my present work is suitable please advise in what way I could handle those whose direction fall to me could be improved, that is how could I become more efficient in their direction, or would a change to another branch of the service be recommended. Could I develop the ability to minister to my fellow man spiritually? If this were possible how may I go about this work?
