GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body; answering the questions, as I ask them:
-
EC: Yes, we have the body here, [4027].
-
While there is a little bit of relief in the present, the chart indicates that this is a very serious disturbance. The lack, or the less of the violet ray that the body is able to have and the ozone that naturally comes from the effect of ultra-violet over the body, the greater will be the distress through bronchi and lungs. And this is leaving the lungs quite open to infection from without.
-
Here we find, that radiation would be the more effective measures; so that there is the activity of the superficial circulation from the radiation ultra-violet - preferably in a dry climate, as in Arizona - about the area of Casa Grande or where the body might remain in the open during certain periods of the day, when the effect of the ultra-violet would be upon the body. Thus there may be found relief. Such periods of the day would be 10:20 in the morning to 2:30 in the afternoon; not too severe at the beginning but gradually the body may absorb the activities of the ultra-violet.
-
Do add to the body iodine and calcium by the taking of Calcidin, prepared by dissolving five to ten grains of Calcidin in an ounce of distilled water and taking half a teaspoonful of this every three to four hours. Keep this where it will be kept more warm than cold. Taking this even where the body is in the present environ will be most helpful for the body and will aid in giving sufficient strength for the body to be removed to the environment best for the body.
-
Ready for questions.
-
(Q) May anything else be done to build up the body for the trip? (A) The foods should be those easily assimilated; as gelatin or jello in any form or every form of strengthening food such as blanc mange, cream, the yolk of egg in milk (not the white of the egg), a little Spirits Frumenti prepared with milk and egg yolk - not too much sugar but sufficient to make it more palatable. Beef juices but no meats at all. Such as the whole grain cereals, whether cooked or dry, the whole grain is preferable, or especially the combination of whole wheat and rye. These are good for the body.

We are through with this reading.

R2. 7/1/44 Husband’s ltr. to EC:
Gen. Del. Tucson, Ariz.
Dear Mr. Cayce;
Mr. Sugrue stated that you had inquired about my wife, in a letter that I received from him.
I am happy to report that she seems to be getting along fine. She had one upset since we’ve been here which was milder than usual, and since then has had to take very little medicine. She has gained eight pounds since that time.
It is very hot here, 107 degrees Thursday afternoon. Our cooler is going much of the time which helps. We finally found an apartment in an auto court, after three weeks in one room with no kitchen facilities.
My wife and I certainly appreciate the interest and help you and Mr. Sugrue have given us. We enjoy the Association Bulletin which my folks forward to us.
Sincerely, […]

B1. 3/25/44 Thomas Sugrue’s letter: “She is dying of asthma. She suffers very acute attacks every 6 to 8 wks. and is now in the hospital in an oxygen tent. She does not have time in between attacks to rebuild her strength and is gradually losing the fight. Her husband, a post office clerk, came to me and asked if I could do anything about getting a reading for her - both of them have read the book and the girl is confident that you can help her. I will telegraph you the place where she will be. If she lives through this attack she will return home and there will be a period of 6 to 8 wks. when, if a rdg. is given, treatments could be administered under the direction of Dr. Heaps.”
B2. Question submitted: 1. Would a change of climate be advised? If so, where?
