This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 11th day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother, new Associate Member of Ass”n for Research and Enlightenment, Inc., via the book, THERE IS A RIVER.

Born February 16, 1939, in Washington, D.C. Time of Reading 4:20 to 4:30 P. M. Eastern War Time. …, Fla. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now called [4081].

2. In giving the urges that are latent and manifested, few individuals come into the earth with such a natural heritage of abilities. A child awarded, an opportunity offered for an activity of a soul in materiality. While such brings to one offering such a channel an obligation, we find that the basis, love, is beginning aright.

3. As we find, there are, then, great abilities in certain given lines and there are warnings and directions that it would be well for those training the entity to take cognizance of.

4. The entity will be one to whom many will come with their troubles. Thus the warning. Train the entity to listen and to give counsel and yet not to be abused or taken advantage of because of the abilities of the entity to instruct or direct. Train the entity in higher mathematics as will have to do with the electronics and dealing with the forces of the spheres. For the astronomy in the study of light, the study of the rays that are a part of each individual planet, each individual star, each individual asteroid are all a part of the forces in universal activities. For the entity was among those in the Atlantean experience that made for the study and the use of all of these.

5. As to the activities or place in which the entity should begin the interest in these, the earlier the better. The stories, the interests in such should be builded by those directing that interest of the body through and to the effect, for instance, of light upon the ether waves that carry those radio messages, the effect of the rays that radiate at times from other planets to the earth and their effect upon the activities of radionics.

6. As we find, the entity known as Sir James Jeans is one whom this entity would follow much in his search for findings.

7. In the activities, the warnings, the ideas would be given, then, as much to those who are responsible for the entity. Later there may be given to the entity that which may be helpful in its activities.

8. As there are the studies, take the warnings and keep the body sweet; that is, the entity will be strong and it will attract, it will naturally draw others, it will naturally be a leader but tended to be imposed upon. These abilities as indicated should be well directed but not the greater power drawn from the entity. Grace, love, patience, kindness, longsuffering, yes, but know from whence the power is drawn and know that all of the God ye may know lies within thyself. Do teach the entity that and to communicate oft with such. For thy body is indeed the temple of the living God and there He may meet thee. Do train the entity in these directions.

9. Do make the activities of the astrological urges in Mercury, in Venus, in Jupiter as applicable in the experience of the entity, but through the fruits of the spirit of truth.

10. Then when the entity is thirteen, we will give its activities in the earth through the ages before this. Remember the entity used the Atlantean experience correctly as a son of the Law of One. It ran into hardships, as it will here. There will be many of those of the Atlanteans entering again. These would impose. These let the entity be warned of, that those who seek for self are selfish, and how to guard against such.

11. We are through for the present.

R1. 5/3/44 [4081]‘s mother’s letter: ”…I was very pleased to have the reading of my son, [4081], which I have examined with care. It seems quite in line with his characteristics to date and I know it will prove most valuable as time goes on. There was a reference to Venus, Jupiter and Mercury which I take refers to Astrology, a subject only slightly familiar to me. Along with many others I confess I have tended to raise an eyebrow on this subject, but I suspect it is a field of knowledge more abused than well-used…”

R2. 4/20/56 [4081]‘s mother’s letter: ”…The reading on my son [4081] is essentially correct as far as I am able to ascertain. Of course, he is just seventeen, finishing his junior year in high school. Just the other day he came in with his schedule worked out for his senior year. He said he wanted to take two extra courses in mathematics which would include calculus. He makes top grades in math and any science, in fact is laboratory assistant for his chemistry teacher - that follows along, doesn’t it? He only managed to ‘squeak’ by in Spanish last term. Since he has always liked drawing and design also, he has been saying for some time that he wanted to study engineering and architecture at MIT. Currently he is dreaming up a science project of building a transistor radio. Physically he is tall and rather slim, but insists on playing football every fall and has developed a good deal of strength that way. He has many friends, but as far as anyone bringing their troubles to him I don’t know. A great principle with me for any human being is self-reliance, and I have always encouraged him in this and to make his own decisions as far as possible about everything.

“I may add further that [4081] does not know about this reading. I was reserving it for him later as I did not want to influence him unduly. Do you think I am right in this?…”

B1. 7/9/43 Mother’s letter: “Life for me took a most strange and adventurous turn following an initial experience which I had in August 1929.

“This I take to be what Jesus called ‘being born again.’ Then it was in December 1931 I posed the question about Mary and was electrified by the response. It seemed to indicate something I should do something about and I did - quietly determined to have a child that would be as much a gift to the world as I could make it without the security of church or state, these being in a fallen or low estate anyhow to date - (i.e. - a legal marriage). Events gradually evolved around to the point where I did have a child. I cannot say his father is a mystic. His reaction was such to the whole affair that I left him, also my home, family and friends and came to Washington, a complete stranger and there my boy was born… All the time, whatever else I have been doing, I have continued to read and study that which is called spiritual. It would be a great help for me to have a life reading from you and one for my boy but I hesitate to ask for two for I know the pressure on you…”

B2. 2/8/44 Questions submitted: “Please trace the life history of this entity so that he may better know the work for which he is fitted and move more swiftly toward spiritual fulfillment. Is there a special line of education and training this individual should pursue or will he find what he needs in the regular channels - public schools, etc.? Is there a locality most conducive to this child’s development and where might he find friends and companions most congenial to him? Any knowledge concerning this child will be welcomed and studied by his mother and the reading kept for his own enlightenment.”
