This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at the office of the Association, Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 10th day of April, 1944, in accordance with request made by the mother - Mrs. [23], Associate Member of the Ass”n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

Born July 17, 1943, Saturday, 12:30 A. M., Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky. Time of Reading … Road, 11:10 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern War Time. …, Kentucky.

1. GC: You will give the relations of this entity and the universe, and the universal forces; giving the conditions which are as personalities, latent and exhibited in the present life; also the former appearances in the earth plane, giving time, place and the name, and that in each life which built or retarded the development for the entity; giving the abilities of the present entity, that to which it may attain, and how. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the records here of that entity now known as or called [4098].

3. Here we have rather an exceptional entity - because of preparations in the minds and hearts of the parents, especially of that entity carrying and caring for this entity through those periods of gestation.

4. An exceptional musician, especially piano. If the opportunity is given here we may have to the musical world of America what Sir Joshua Reynolds was in his field - for it is the same entity.

5. In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, we choose these with the desire especially that these may prove helpful to those responsible for the entity during the formative years of its experience in this particular sojourn.

6. As we find, these are the urges:

7. One who will be subtle in its manner of approach to its own individual problems, thinking long and deep, and usually having its way. Then, unless there is some thought or care taken in meeting these, we will find that the entity may become inclined toward being overheadstrong; yet we will find a gentleness, a seriousness, though periods when there will be tendencies towards recklessness.

8. These are the warnings, then, that should be considered in meeting these. Knowing what to look for as the mind unfolds for the entity, we will be capable of meeting these and of directing the entity.

9. Do give the opportunity for music. Let the entity listen to and be guided by, not that character of music that is of the passing fancy but that which builds harmony, that which builds the bridge between the sublime and the finite - or from the infinite to the finite mind. Cultivate these more often in the body-mind as it unfolds. Thus we will find less and less of this tendency for headstrongness.

10. But there will be periods of temper. We find that this can be controlled, for as indicated, this is an unusual entity in those fields of activity suggested.

11. Astrologically we find urges from Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Uranus. These are tempered ever by the unusual or the extremes that will be found in activities.

12. From Venus we find urges related to the beautiful; inclined towards spiritual or sacred music. These backgrounds will be an excellent basis for the entity’s development and unfoldment.

13. As soon as it is practical for the entity to sit close to a musical instrument, especially a piano, begin to practice on same. Let it be a part of the entity’s experience for the next eighteen years to practice some time during each day.

14. Thus there will be brought the realms of the infinite through and to those who seek to know much of the spiritual in the experiences in the earth.

15. Before this, as indicated, the entity was an artist. Thus the harmony, the desire ever in that experience to be the musician - as it was in part during that sojourn; giving the greater expression, of course, in composition. This will be a portion of the expression in the present - the composition of sacred music and classic music. For the entity may write that which will mean from this period on as much as that by Sir Joshua Reynolds in regard to the Holy Family.

16. Before that the entity was in the Holy Land when there were those activities in which there were the gatherings of those who sought to carry on the activities of the Master.

17. The entity was among those who added music to the service that brought the oneness of mind, not only in song but in the music of the instrument. For then the stringed instruments were used, but the piano - which should be used in the present - is by nature a stringed instrument.

18. The entity then added to that hope, that faith, that understanding, by keeping that touch which would span the varied realms of thought.

19. The name then was Sylvesta.

20. Before that the entity was in the Egyptian land during those periods when there were the preparations for greater service of individuals in specific activities.

21. The entity then especially through the Temple Beautiful brought to others its activities in music - in the two, three, four, five-stringed instruments.

22. The name then was Celeresbestuen.

23. As to the abilities of the entity in the present:

24. Much will depend upon the formative years, as to what will be the outcome, by the manner in which the trainings begin.

25. Do give the entity the opportunity for activities in the direction indicated, for it will mean much to many peoples.

26. And keep the entity close in that realm of spiritual understanding.

27. Ready for questions.

28. (Q) What specifically are the problems he should work out for himself during this particular sojourn on earth? (A) As just indicated its stubbornness in having its own way.

29. (Q) What were past associations with present family? (A) Particularly in the activities in Egypt.

30. (Q) Is there any additional information regarding this entity at this time? (A) Just keep in that way as indicated. Do have some period each day from now on - from now - for eighteen years - to practice!

R2. 1/15/60 Mrs. [852]‘s letter: “[4098] is a junior in high school… He has a job after school, working for one of our dry cleaning and laundry plants.”

R3. 12/6/60 Mrs. [852]‘s letter: “[4098] is working after school hours and on Saturdays for a local T-V concern. Making very good money for a child - part of which he is trying to save toward his college education. He graduates in the Spring and at the present time says his strong leaning is toward mechanical drawing or architecture. He is extremely talented along these lines - can sit down and just sketch off anything with his hands. Guess that is the trait he inherited from […] [his paternal great grandfather, who was a contractor].”

R4. GD’s note: Later I heard that he had become a fireman.

R5. 6/7/68 His sister, Mrs. [2015], visited A.R.E., reporting that [4098] is planning to go to Georgia Tech this fall - is to study engineering, though he is not sure exactly what he wants to make his life’s work.
