This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his office, 115 West 35th Street, Virginia Beach, Va., this 17th day of January, 1928, in accordance with request made by self - [4123].

1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body.

3. Now, we find there are many elements entering in toward causing the physical condition and the physical and mental suffering of this body. Much change in the mental attitude of the individual towards self and others must become not only apparent, but conscious, and the necessity of a change in some before the body, physical or mental, will even find within self that ability to even meet the needs necessary for the betterment physically and mentally of the conditions.

4. While those conditions have to do with the forces as are necessary, apparently to meet those awful struggles from within; yet the mental within self, the will within self must be set in the manner of determining within self that these will be met without the giving away toward those things that must bring even harder conditions to bear.

5. In the physical conditions that are to be met, then, first we would prepare as this for the body. In fifteen (15) capsules place this as a dose in each:

Eucalyptol…1 minim, Benzosol…1 minim, Canadian Balsam…1 minim, Rectified Oil of Turp…1 minim.

Take these only in capsules. Take one each day until the whole quantity taken, see? These would preferably be taken in evening.

6. Each evening upon retiring use that of equal parts of Tincture of Myrrh and Olive Oil and Sassafras Oil. Heat the oil and add the myrrh and Sassafras oil. Massage this in the spine from the sacral to the base of the brain. Let this be done as the body is ready to retire.

7. After these have been taken, and these rubs given, then we would give that necessary for the full and further corrections of this body.

8. The body will find that with taking these capsules it will be easier to meet those desires of that that would bring ease; yet not aid. This will cleanse the system through the kidneys, liver and lungs, and prepare the body for the resuscitation of the proper rebuilding forces from within. Should nausea or an over burning stomach ensue from the continual taking of the capsules, reduce the number - or take them less often, but keep them up, using small doses of olive oil to cleanse the system - drinking plenty of sweet milk. Let the diet be principally of milk, whole wheat bread, gruels, fruits and nuts. Not too much vegetables, and little or no meats.

9. Do that for this period. Then we will give further instructions for this body, [4123].

10. We are through for the present.

Yours of the 10th received. I certainly would like very much to be of help if it is possible. We enclose the information which was gotten in the reading. I am in hopes that when you check this over you will write me fully, and that you will from time to time let us check up on the condition and see if you can’t get well. In a few weeks now we will have a physician associated with the work. When he does come in, I will want you to write him your interpretation of your condition, then let him ask what questions in a reading that he would feel would be of assistance towards understanding the condition properly. I certainly enjoyed the talk with your brother, and shall be very glad if you will let us hear from you.

Hon. Sir:

A few days ago I hurried off a few lines to you in place of this letter, I wanted to do all the things, first, that you suggested, and then tell you how they were helping me on to get well.

I have been trying to have the (15) capsules prepared, - Eucalyptus 1 minim, Benzosol 1 minim, Canadian Balsam 1 minim Rectified oil of Turp 1 minim, - and I am asked, “how much of each in a capsule and what kind of Benzosol is it.”

Hon. Sir: It is my desire to have these capsules in order that I can give my body a fair chance, as well as your very good reading.

I am taking the Olive Oil, the massages applied to my spine and have change my diet, I notice the skin of my face has cleared up some, and I do not have those AWFUL dizzy spells as often, as before, only my spine is still causing me very much pains in the left shoulder blade and up to the base of the brain, the pains travel to the left side of my neck, face, and to the left forehead. These pains are of a burning and sharp in caricature, with very much muscle boundness in the above mention region.

I feel certain that you are on the RIGHT track when you covered all my ailments in your reading. I will say, that I am going to follow out your suggestions to the letter.

I will be very glad to write you from time to time in regards to my condition, and I thank you most very kindly for extending that offer to me and for your past favors, I sincerely beg to remain.

Dear Mr. [4123]-

I wrote you yesterday that Mr. Cayce was away. To-day your letter came in regard to the prescription given in your reading. This prescription is given for just ONE capsule, and you are to take fifteen of them.

Mr. Cayce will write you when he returns. I hope you can get this to-gether alright.

I have been informed by my mother you you have written me two letters, which she - my mother - forwarded to my new address,

• City of Chicago M. T. San. - and they - your letters - became lost in transit. I have informed the post office about it, but to date I have no word from them - Post Office.

Mr. Cayce is it possible for you to send me copies of those two letters which I am anxious to get in order to carry out your suggestion.

Dear Mr. [4123]:-

Yours of the 18th to hand. Mr secretary wrote you on the 3rd and 4th. These possibly were the notes your mother referred to. She was only telling you that I was out of the city, but suggested that the dose as given was for EACH capsule; that is, each capsule should contain one minim of eucalyptol, one minim of Benzosol - that is, the vegetable - one minim Canadian Balsam, one of Rectified Oil of Turp. I am in hopes you have had no trouble in getting the prescription prepared, and that you are getting results from same. I will say, however, that in a few days now the physician that will have charge of your institution will be on hand, getting things in readiness for the opening of the institution as soon as we have completed same. Soon after he arrives I will want you to get in touch with him direct and we’ll have him go over your case, and with the information that has been supplied, and suggest to you how you carry out your treatments. So you will write again in the next few days and we will go into the matter further. I assure you it’s our desire to be of service. Circumstances have necessitated my being out of town. I may possibly be in Chicago the latter part of next week. If I am I’ll want to get in touch with you personally, and go over with you the information that has been given. So, suppose next Thursday or Friday week you call me at the LaSalle Hotel - say 8th or 9th.

I am a beggar; the reason is, kind sir, my physical condition is such that many doctors seem not to be ABLE to diagnose or do anything to relieve me of my suffering, which has been mine for the past nine years and am getting worse each new day!

I pray kind sir: you will favor me with a reading (a) in order that something can be done to relieve me of my suffering.

I have stated above “I am a beggar” and by that I mean, I have no money to offer you at this time, and if you can believe in honor in this age, I will say that upon my honor I will donate to The A. of N. I. when my physical condition will let me earn a fair livinghood.

In order to enlighten you kind sir, permit me to tell you, I am an exservice man - soldier - whom has seen and went thru two year active duty in the late “World War”, and again, I pray you will favor me with a reading (a).
