This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce, this 20th day of April, 1921.

1. EC: Yes, we have it here.

2. W. D. Elliot farm in Tenn. and Ky. Christian County in Ky. and Montgomery County in Tenn., with well drilled on the Tenn. side of the farm, here, which is something better than 400 acres on the Tenn. side, you see.

3. Casing in well to 500 feet and 8 inches. Formation from this down: (500 feet is the water line, casing set just below) limestone; dark slate; lighter shale to a chalky shale, that is a shaley formation, yet not a true formation; some sand; sand of stone, harder formation; more clay formation; more showing of lime; traces of gravel, broken. A dry sandy shale permeated much with small traces of oil bearing sands. Now we are around 1400 ft. depth, you see. Black lime; harder sandstone fine grained. Some showing of very old deposits of sea shell formation around 1800 to 1875 ft. mark, with easier drilling than we have had in this part of the hole. Then a bit of harder formations yet with more of the darker lime cuttings with this, getting a bit heavier toward the 2000 ft. depth; some showing of gas if drilled on below to the 2200 ft. mark. More showing of dampness from the water seepage here you see. Showing of lime with some salt formation, or giving a brackish taste in this position between 2200 and 2300 ft. Harder formations showing much sand, coarse grained, along from 2330 to 2360 ft.; showing some oil about the 2400 ft. mark. There is some small seepage of gas and oil at 2398 to 2400 ft. Very small production would be reached at 2470 to 2480 or 90 ft. Small wells could be produced here. At 2470 to 2500 ft. we have some heavier traces or showings of oil that come across from the north west to the south east, following the incline, and producing at the beginning from 20 to 40 barrels of oil per day, if shot in this formation. This is not as good acreage as we have further back, you see.

4. (Q) How much of a shot is necessary to get this production, Mr. C? (A) It should be shot steadily, or easily as in the other formation, to prevent bridging. Shots tampered should not be with water in this formation, but should be continued in several jars sufficient to produce a basin, that is in the lower part around 2500 ft. If drilled deeper in some other part of this same farm around 2750 ft. we will find more oil than in this place. Properly shot would make it sufficient to pay you see.

5. (Q) Give us the best location to locate this oil, Mr. Cayce. (A) To the south and east here of this location we find the anticline coming from the north west direction, some 1000 yards. From this location we would find better production on this farm, see? The anticline is from the north and west.

6. (Q) Are we to understand that this well is to be drilled 2500 ft.? (A) We are to drill this to 2500 ft. and then shoot it with several small shots. We have given the small production here of 20 to 40 barrels.

7. (Q) In shooting this well what size squib should be used, Mr. Cayce? (A) Those that are small, not too much to produce a cave-in from above.

8. (Q) Would from 2 1/2 to 5 gals. be about right, Mr. Cayce? (A) From 1 1/2 to 3 gals. would be about right.

9. (Q) Are there any other details, Mr. Cayce? (A) This is what we have as far as the property is concerned. There are many things that should be given to others on the outside of this property who are interested in this well. These outside should be very wary in handling this proposition as they are dealing with some pretty slick customers.

Dear Major:-

I have thought about you many thousands of times, I suppose, since I last heard from you. And have written many, many letters in my mind; and I think addressed one or two to you, though I learned later that you were possibly at that time so engrossed with conditions that made letter writing the last thing in your mind.

Last Saturday I was on Washington and saw Dave Kahn and Alf [Major Alf M. Wilson, brother]. Of course, when we had an opportunity to talk for a few minutes, Alf told me all about the things that have been going on for some little time - your mother’s death, your getting married again, and especially about how busy you are these days. So, I determined I was going to write to you once more. I certainly would love to hear from you, and I don’t know of anything I wold enjoy any more than seeing and talking with you. Alf told me he thought he was going to arrange to spend a few weeks at Virginia Beach this summer, and that he expected you to be along at the same time. I don’t know whether he has told you about it yet or not, but I do hope you will look at the idea rather favorably - and WILL do that very thing. I would certainly love to see you and talk with you again.

I hope you are feeling fine yourself, and that the family is well and alright. While Alf was looking very well, from what he said he must have been under a rather severe strain for some time. He looked a little bit washed out. I hope, though, that the suggestions gotten while I was there for his improvement will be just the thing for him to get this all straightened out.

Drop me a line, won’t you, for old times’ sake? I’m still looking forward to that day when you will have your office just outside.
